Beyond the theme and the Dai-X this was the only story I remembered from the UK run - because I never saw it! There was a scheduled power cut in my region so all I saw was the trailer the week before. Got the DVDs when they came out.

To 7 year old me... Dai-X was EVERYTHING!! 😅 It's what got me into mecha anime, which I still love. Armored Core 6 is the realization of a dream I've had since 1983.

Great story ... but AS USUAL all the weapons and ships MAKE NO SENSE. - why would X-Bomber have a powerful gun IN THE NECK of the ship and have to "transform" to reveal it? This creates weak points ... and a simple DOOR would be enough. - why are there "fighters" being sent against aliens ... when the first earth fighters were clearly useless? Send them out with the command of FULL EVASION (you probably cant touch the aliens, but you can keep them busy ... and maybe learn their fighting strategies/weapons). Oh and sticking an asteroid on the front of a fighter would be a really cheap shield.

The final confrontation between Shiro and Capt Carter… not unusual for Japanese anime, but phew, that was pretty “heavy” for 10am on a Saturday morning in the UK in 1983 😳 Made quite an impression on me (including turning me into a lifelong anime fan)

The skull ship just as our American cousins would ssy "baddass" in my mind id get the message. You flow around space in a pirate ship so id be thinking "do not annoy these guys"

the reason there was no second set of episodes that were in demand by itv...well sadly the studios were they made starfleet had burned down and all the puppets were burned

I relished star fleet when I was a young boy under the age of 10,,,,,it makes me smile now ..the way the space scenes are shot....its really cheesy .it's great.......its 2999 and we have fallen back on the crt display...............I'm almost 50 and I absolutely loved watching this ,this took me back over 40years😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊

I must mention total respect,to the completely world wide sold programmes like: Thunderbirds, yes, they're are amazing too! This I like it, more because it's a great story across multiple episodes, gutted this is the only series but the studio where it was made was gutted by fire, so no more than what is available here 😢
