Day Hike: Lower Rock Creek, Missouri
Просмотров 2744 года назад
I went on a fun rugged hike with my husband, kids, mom, and two Chihuahuas in February. There were downed trees and a lot of overgrowth and the trail is also not well marked. However, the beautiful landscape of the creek is an incredible reward after 1.5 miles of hiking through the woods! There is a waterfall if you follow the creek for just over another mile, but we didn't make it that far aft...

Backpacking in Hawn State Park Whispering Pines Trail

My family and some of our friends went on an overnight backpacking trip on Hawn State Park's Whispering Pines Trail in October of 2019. It is rated moderate. We hiked approximately 12.6 miles. This was my husband's and my 3rd backpacking trip, our 16-year-old daughter's second, and everyone else's first (ages 9-43). It's a great way to get into backpacking!

Limited Edition Acrylic Print Production

I've been preparing for my first art show for months! Here's a video of some of my limited edition prints as they go through production from printing to hanging.
Fantastic work & the results are amazing, a very interesting process from start to finish 😊
Thanks so much @andywharam59!
GENIAL r.m.
Ur exta af
Shouldn’t you be wearing gloves
Gloves aren't necessary during every step of the process, and if dust lands on the print during the actual mounting to acrylic, then it's best to wipe it with a bare hand as gloves might add more dust or lint.
Great work! I also just printed four of my ARTography photos on metallic paper sandwiched between 2 sheets of acrylic.
That's so exciting! Congratulations!!

Hi mam , I have seen your videos and they are awesome. I do. Not have any such knowledge in this BUT I wanted to learn how to do this acrylic printings . This are not yet in India I believe . Would be a great idea to start a business here
The best thing I've watched this year. Love them🙌🏿
What is that roller called to help flatten the poster?
Hi Travis! Those are laminator rollers. Thanks for watching!
Thanks, does this also help flatten the poster? They tend to get wavy after printing@@neshamafineartphotography
Hey there@@TravisHarris-f5i! Yes, if you mount your posters to acrylic, they will not get wavy like they do when they are simply behind acrylic inside of a frame.
@@neshamafineartphotography Nice, thanks for the tip
I have a piece by Mario Basner produced like this.... the quality is breath taking,. Worth the money and time spent.
I just looked him up. His work is beautiful!!
@@neshamafineartphotography yes, I picked up a framed 25x45 of the Library in Florence (Biblioteca Marucelliana) ... when I stand in front of it, it feels like I'm in the room... Having been to it once in real life, it brings back the feeling of that visit. Your photos are also nice, where is your gallery?
@@Sams911 I bet it does feel as if you're standing right there!! I don't have my own gallery yet. I have only been shooting nature/landscapes (and a little bit of cityscapes) since the end of 2020 (I was shooting portraits and events for eighteen years before that). In fact, I made this video with the very first acrylic-mounted prints I ever made! I'm based out of St. Louis, but I exhibit in juried art shows throughout the United States as west as Kansas, but also Midwest, South, and East. I've also exhibited my work in juried gallery and museum exhibits in St. Louis and New York. You can see more of my work at www.neshamafineart.com.
@@neshamafineartphotography good on you... you appear to have a good eye for composition., I added your site to my arts bookmarks.. my ex-wife was that way.. she did portraits, mostly children for 10 years and had a good run at it until she decided to return to teaching ...
@@neshamafineartphotography by the way, for some reason your site will not load on my Safari but it does on Chrome... not sure if it's just me.
what adhesive are you using?
I've used Seal Optimount and Drytac Facemount. Although I know photographers who use Facemount and get beautiful results, Optimount has been better for me.
Hi! I prefer Optimount.
Hello Neshama.. first time i seen your video 😍.. do you have a link for the double sided tape? I been looking for a good one for that. I also do this work but i having a problem with finding a good quality double sided tape.. if you can share a link I really appreciate it.. thanks and God bless
me too
I have purchased it online from a couple of different companies, but I found it most reasonable on Amazon. Here's where I get mine: www.amazon.com/dp/B000V4QZ0E?psc=1&ref=product_details

You are amazing and such an inspiraiton! Thanks for sharing this. Can you tell me where you order your custom frames?
Thanks!! I get them from Studio Moulding.
Hi! I thought I had replied to your question, but I don't see it. I get them from Studio Moulding. You can order them chopped and joined, length, or as a full box.
Can you explain about gumming process
Hi! I don't do the mounting step myself, but it's done with optically clear adhesive applied to the front of the print and another layer of adhesive to the back of the print before being mounted to acrylic.
Great Job! How much do you charge charge for something like that, if you dont mind me asking 🙂
Sorry for the delay in replying! I missed your question! My prices vary depending on size, but the most popular sizes are between $800 and $2,900.
thanks for the clip we appreciate which type of lamilating film did you use to stick on the acrylic
Personally, I like Optimount.
Nice. Can we print on canvas with this printer?
Yes you can!
GREAT WORK keep going 👍
Thank you!
Hi.... please I really need someone to teach me how to make this please
Hi! I still have some details I'm ironing out myself. Once I figure those out, I can begin offering help. Thanks for your interest!!
Simply great works,love Zund G3 L2500👍
Loved
Machine price
If I remember correctly, the printer is around $3,500. Laminators (like the one in my video) are around $10,000.
Hi, What it the Canon printing machine you are using?
Hi Inna, it's the Canon Pro-4000. I love it!
@@neshamafineartphotography I love the video, feel a lot of love in what you are doing, I own an epson p6000s looking to get into business as well, but have no idea how the adhesive film go in between the layers!
Gorgeous print. Is it possible to have a 24 inch image with stunning detail like this if you only stich three vertical 12mp shots for a panorama? Is 300ppi a myth? I have seen images printed on 150ppi looking fine on youtube? Whats your experience or what you have seen others do as well?
Thanks for the compliment! Honestly, I wouldn't know unless I saw the image. There is software for properly upsizing images, but I don't have experience with it since I only print from my professional camera (a Nikon D800) with an originally raw file, and I print at 300ppi.
@@neshamaroash302 Thank you for you answer.
You do this yourself Neshama?
B C, I do almost all of the steps myself. I don't do the mounting or cutting/polishing. And, for now, I order custom-made frames. Someday, I'd like to put the frames together myself, and maybe one day I'll buy the machinery and a studio large enough to do the acrylic mounting too.
@@neshamaroash302- very impressive!!!
excellent work, what kind of paper do you use to print
I use Red River Polar Lustre Metallic (I’ve also used the glossy version and like that as well)!
@@neshamaroash302 Fantastic pictures and framming job. Regarding the paper, I^m in the market for a similare paper with archive claim. Do you have information in this matter from Red River, because they specified on their website this paper as "Acid free base stock. Coating slightly acidic". which is according to me a no go for archvability. Thx
Could ya convert any tiny image onto skin leather or canvas by the same devices please? many thanks.
Sorry for the late reply, but this process would not work with tiny images.
absolutely gorgeous!
Thanks so much!
which trip was better - 2 day narrows or the 3 day wildcat/westrim?
If I could only go on one more backpacking trip and had to choose between the two, I'd choose The Narrows. It was just such a different experience. However, 3 days across such varied and beautiful terrain was truly amazing as well. We had actually returned to Zion to do The Narrows again, but with our oldest child (15 at the time), but it was flooded so that's actually how we ended up choosing a new trip. I don't think you can go wrong if you're backpacking in Zion! Day hikes, though, that's another story.....LOTS of people.
Best frame making 👍
I love it 😍 What pen do you use to sign on paper like that ?
Thanks!! I use a DecoColor marker.
Beautiful work. Simply amazing. I´m on the market for a Canon Imageprograf 1000 printer but I´ll probably go for the pro 2100 because of the 24" width, but your Pro 4000 images are outstanding. The black frames you use for the back of the print, are they custom made? Thanks!
If it's in your budget to start right out with the Pro 2100, I recommend it since you'll be able to make bigger prints! Yes, the black frames are custom made!
how to wall fit,pls demo video mam,,in u r agylic prrint class,,
Hello Pothy Raja! You can see the framing part of the process at 1:11.
what paper were you printing on
Red River Polar Gloss Metallic.
Super work done. very appreciating.
Are these kind of print also called Diasec?
I have not heard of that.
@@neshamafineartphotography Diasec Prints
@@jarticul Ah, yes, the Diasec prints are similar to the prints I feature in my video.
I’ve heard of those . They’re a SUPER expensive type of prints I’ve heard
@@araeannweber7737 Yeah. I guess
That just touched a very deep part of me. Thank You Very Very Much for sharing. Wow!!!
Awww, I'm happy to hear that! Thank you!
1want 112x96 inches print want is there give me contact number
I'm sorry, I'm not equipped to make prints quite that large.
Can you tell me the name of the printing machine & the acrylic sheets
I researched a lot of models and types of printers, but decided to get the Canon Pro4000. Acrylic is available online, and potentially locally. There are different thicknesses that you can choose based on your preference. And if you want to make sure your art is protected, I recommend choosing a UV filtering acrylic.
@@neshamaroash302 thank you
Amazing 🤩 I love so much !!
Thank you!!
Can u send me this print 3*1feet with front facing adhesive
My prints are available for shipping anywhere within the United States!
My family and I plan to backpack this trail this spring. What time of year did you go? And do you have any advice? :)
Hi Carla! We went in October. Assuming the weather will be similar in the spring, I definitely suggest making sure you have warm sleeping gear. I also suggest bringing a water filter so you can fill up along the way rather than having to carry extra water. There are multiple water sources since you'll be hiking along Pickle Creek a lot of the time. We didn't have a bear canister for this trip, but we did tie up our food away about 100 feet from our tents (we used the PCT Method). We carried out all of our food scraps and trash and buried our poop (a lightweight/folding shovel is quite handy). Feel free to reach out for more specific advice. Are you going with kids (if so, how old)? Is this your first backpacking trip?
@@NeshamaRoash This is all super helpful, as we will be new to backpacking.
@@NeshamaRoash Thanks, again, for your great advise. I realize I didn't answer your questions .... Yes, this is our first time backpacking all together, and most of our first time period. My kids are older and range from 16-23. I am hoping backpacking can become something we often do. Do you have any suggestions on warm sleeping gear? I've been researching sleeping bags and there are just so many. I'm sorta focused now on the AegisMax, and that brand also has many options to choose from. Just not sure what's the best if we plan to backpack in Fall/Spring weather in Mo or in CO in higher altitudes eventually. Thanks!
@@NeshamaRoash - Any other suggestions on backpacks, sleeping pads, etc, would be great, too. Also doing lots of research on those, but the more info I gather the better choice I MAY make. LOL Thanks!
@@carlagibson3875 Hello again! We have Marmot and REI brand sleeping bags, some that we've bought from the REI Garage Sales and some we've bought new from REI. They are all amazing!!! We've slept in 17 degree weather in them and still been warm. However, I think the REI sleeping bags are a little heavier. It's been okay for our teens because they don't carry quite as much gear as my husband and I do. I just recommend getting the lightest sleeping bags (and all gear in general) that you can afford because every ounce matters, and so if you can save a few ounces here and there, you'll be much happier on the hike! Does everyone already have their backpacks? We have Gregory, Osprey, Deuter, and Kelty packs. I used the Deuter before switching to Gregory, but they are both super comfy for me. Getting your backpacks fitted is definitely a good idea if you haven't done that already! I have a Klymit Static V2 inflatable sleeping pad that I love (found that at a local gear resale shop). My husband and kids have Freeland and OlarHike inflatable sleeping pads. They have also been totally sufficient (both on Amazon, but currently unavailable so I won't share a link). The kids have Wise Owl camping pillows that are great (apparently they also make inflatable sleeping pads). My husband had a Rikki Tikki pillow, but he kind of hated it because he just doesn't like the inflatable stuff (I thought it was perfectly comfy though). So, I recently bought him a Sierra Designs DriDown Pillow, but he hasn't used it yet. I can't remember what kind I have. One thing I've found more comfy, when it's not super cold, is to put my pillow under my sleeping bag hood instead of inside it and then it's fluffier. Oh, and trekking poles are definitely helpful too! I love Black Diamond, but we also found some sets on Amazon that have been great so far (which were much more affordable than getting every family member Black Diamond poles). Here are some links to products I've mentioned!! www.amazon.com/Wise-Owl-Outfitters-Compressible-Backpacking/dp/B07CMFGYD4/ref=sr_1_5?dchild=1&keywords=wise%2Bowl%2Bbackpacking%2Bpillow&qid=1614527102&s=sporting-goods&sr=1-5&th=1 www.amazon.com/RikkiTikki-Inflatable-Travel-Pillow-Compressible/dp/B076JJGMSY/ref=sr_1_8?dchild=1&keywords=wise+owl+backpacking+pillow&qid=1614527102&s=sporting-goods&sr=1-8 www.alpineshop.com/sierra-designs/dridown-pillow-114729 www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07PRL8YV5/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
