The odds are you would have a 1.05% chance 4 times in a box or 96 time in 24 packs. 21:2000. The probability of a lotus in 96 packs in an ideal world is 1.05/96 or 1.09375% the odds are static and do not go up naturally this is also not a linear equation.

Theres a green aura card that would work wonders with a menace equip card: Alpha Authority. AA states that on top of giving the attached creature hexproof, the creature also cannot be blocked by more than one creature. Menace forces you to block said creature with 2 creatures. This basically renders the creature unable to be blocked and by the rules of commander, you are that much closer to losing because of the commander damage rule.

I have a Nadu deck, it only ever saw play if someone at the table was becoming a problem for the group, and it remains undefeated. It has never screeched to a grinding halt. It did not even have crypt or lotus in it. Did it take forever in a turn? Yes. But if that’s a problem then super friends decks would get the same treatment. I’m convinced of 2 thing, that the CRC sold off their stock before the announcement, and that it’s currently run by mostly cosplayers and tourists.

As far as Crypt, I don't feel great about it, but it is what it is. Jeweled Lotus however, is a card specifically made for EDH as a whole. It may see fringe play with doubling cube in Vintage, but it mostly functions best in Commander. Nadu was not shocking at all. Same with Dockside. Extortionist was in the cross hairs for a while now.

i have a crypt and lotus in all 10 of my decks, dockside in 4 of those same ones. so fml i guess, time to see if i can fly from the top of a building

The Sol Ring line is such a pathetic justification. Sol RIng and Mana Crypt are nearly identical cards in EDH and banning one without the other has no reasonable justification at all. It just makes the EDH ban list look like even more of a joke than it already is.

I guess. Outside of recuring Dockside, I've never seen these cards skew games. I've recured common rarity cards and drained the whole table.

I'm surprised that something has finally happened cause this is the only ban announcement since 2021 and the only change since then was through power creep.

It's not unusual for cEDH Urza players to mulligan down to 3 to try to get a Crypt or Jewelled lotus. And then, with the free construct, they have mana for next turn STAX PIECE. But you might say: My playgroup doesn't play edh? Why can't we turn 0 reverse this? Some base bans have to be established , specially when you get a new player with a chip of their shoulder and bring out an Urza deck to ruin someones afternoon.

Just more reasons not to pay for these high value cards that are legal in commander. I bet WOTC put pressure on the committee for these bans. Its because they will print something better and want you to buy that instead. Just proxy cards over $50. That way you aren't out much when they eventually ban them. I own 7 mana crypts (all Extended Art Foils) for commander and now they are worthless to me....

I can understand the monetary hurt /value loss for players who previously bought these cards (most definately Cedh players too)..., But I'm always in favor of banning 🧠dead cards like the above 👍🏻

Of course I'm late for the party, but the fun part of Delina also is abuse of "create a token that's a copy of it, except it not legendary", so you can create some really fun interactions with this as well :D

Hell, I learned how to build a competent deck before I even knew how to play and I was too scared to play at the local shop cause i didn't wanna get bitched at haha. Oboon throws rocks, is what I call mine. It’s pretty much ramp and Voltron. Make a point to always animate my mountains (those are the rocks being thrown) because the deck runs perfectly well without red lel

Desecrated Tomb will only make 1 bat token, no matter how many creatures leave the graveyard at a time. With Shirei, they will all come back at once, and that's only one trigger for Desecrated Tomb die to the wording: "whenever one or more".

proxy king or proxy biz are far better options then anything WOTC is offering lately
