Please do not change Gilbert's words. The line he wrote is 'He don't exclaim', not 'He won't exclaim' as you sang. Had Gilbert wanted the word 'won't', he'd have written it. It is playing with fire to change, will-he nill-he, the words of a great genius like William Schwenck Gilbert.

First, I intensely dislike the acoustics of this rendition, but that is not the artists' fault, the echo and harshness of the resound make this difficult to listen to. The artist has a lovely voice, but this is a challenging song and the notes are literally stepping stones through the melody, and if you skip or slur or miss stones it becomes obvious, and unfortunately Amy did. The most noticeable was the line around .28 where she slides through notes instead of hitting them in that line and it goes awry. Compare this to the accuracy of Shirley in the version of the movie "Topsy Turvy" and you'll see what I mean. Amy has a bigger voice, but Shirley hits the notes accurately like a trip hammer and it sounds wonderful.
