Good memories of Aaron & Tasso from the 80s. Several months after this I was off to Toronto where I lived for 30 years. Moved back to Montreal 7 years ago and now I continue to listen to Aaron sans Tasso of course.

CJPC originally relayed CFJP, but would switch parent stations in 2007 when Tele-Inter-Rives acquired the station and converted it to relaying Riviere-du-Loup affiliate CFTF.

CKMI, being a private English station in a virtually all French market, has always been fascinating to me. How it lasted as long as it did is amazing. I’ve never even been to the city, just Montreal and Sherbrooke.

It's a shame Montreal has nothing funny on radio anymore. Lockwood in the 70's, Aaron & Tasso in the 80's...and now just packaged bits of dullness. Local radio is dead, just doesn't know it.

Thank you for this. This was some radio from one of the best times in Montreal broadcasting. There was nothing better than coming to work every day with these people, the smartest funniest nicest broadcasters anywhere, being informative and creative, laughing our asses off, then doing it all again the next day. It was a joy and an honour.

I put up a similar video and it’s telling me there’s a copyright claim on my video.

I wonder why they didn't keep WYUL, such a great call sign for a US border blaster. In NYC, they kept WPLJ, why I don't know. WKLV would have been much better, IMHO.

I still miss this station up to this day it’s a total shame that they sold this station to the EMF hits fm was a really good station like I really wish they could relaunch the station back to what it originally was it really sucks big time that they did that and k love is nothing but real garbage I hate it so much

Very strange that a news broadcast would have like a new jack swing/hip hop/soul sounder attached. It's would be more appropriate for the Mutual Black Network if it existed in the late 1980s. Even during it's last year's of broadcasting, Mutual continued to put out bombastic sounders and bumpers.

I met Harvey Kirck while I worked at a McDonald’s near the 401, in Milton, Ontario. He was tall and incredibly friendly, although he had the nerve to hit on me while I was cleaning the dining area. I ignored him because his wife gave me a look that could kill.🙂. Besides, he was no Lloyd Robertson, who I had a crush on in high school.
