Will It Start? Massey Ferguson 35 or 835 DET Diesel Tractor Standard 23c Engine Using Kigas System
Просмотров 96Месяц назад
Easier starting and no need for any kind of starting fluid which is much better for the engine. After running for a while the smoke clears and it runs smoothly. I ran it for 4 hours on 11 June and it ran great, engine temperature was steady as was the oil pressure. Thanks for watching! Please like and subscribe for more videos!

    Basically, the best option is to renew everything that you can every time. You might never need to do that again.

    • @WilkoinFrance
      @WilkoinFrance 18 дней назад

      Everything that is worn is best to replace, but as long as the old part is in good condition and within tolerance then there's no need to replace it, like in this case I did not replace the brake drums, but the rest of the brakes were too bad so replacement was the only option.

    • @WilkoinFrance
      @WilkoinFrance 26 дней назад

      Yes It should work for the B6100, it's pretty universal for many small tractors. Mine came with the tractor when I bought it, but every tractor store should have this set for sale. If you type in on Google 3-point hitch Kubota B6100, there are many options and prices. Though finding a store close to you may be cheaper with shipping as it's heavy, kit is around 20kg.

    Can you lay it on its side like the thumbnail photo? To clean the deck, else how do you clean it?

    • @WilkoinFrance
      @WilkoinFrance Месяц назад

      I put it on it's side towards the oil dipstick side, same as a normal mower. Just don't turn the engine or oil will go where you don't want it. But you can also lift it from the front or back with a jack and get a pressure washer underneath to clean it. As it is a bit heavy to lift back up from having it on its side.

    • @one2three123
      @one2three123 Месяц назад

      But the thumbnail picture shows it laying on the left side. Not on the dipstick side.

    • @WilkoinFrance
      @WilkoinFrance Месяц назад

      The thumbnail was taken when the engine had no oil in it so it didn't matter, but every time after filling it with oil I did tilt it the other way. You can tilt it the towards the carburetor too just a higher chance of filling the intake with oil and when starting it will smoke. In either case check oil before starting.

    Hello, thanks for the video. I've noticed you've got the rear wheels facing "inward" which seems unconventional - I was considering doing this thinking it would gain me a few extra CM's of total width for a tiny bit more stability. What are you thoughts?

    • @WilkoinFrance
      @WilkoinFrance Месяц назад

      I had a B7000 tractor which had the wheels the standard way around and having used the B7001 with the wheels as shown it does offer some more stability. The tractor came like this when I bought it. It was better like this using it on slopes and hitting a bump didn't make me feel as though it was going to tip over, which I did sometimes have with the B7000. So in my opinion if you need the stability try it out and see.

    • @WilkoinFrance
      @WilkoinFrance 2 месяца назад

      So this mower would originally have come with a tiller attachment, meaning that you remove the blade plate, undo a few bolts as the engine is mounted on a ring, the handles are attached to the ring, which is mounted to the base with some easy to reach bolts. Then you place the whole engine, handle lot onto the tiller attachment, which is why it has a large engine. The mower part I believe is still a 19" cut, so not that small. This link shows the old ad with the tiller attachment: facebook.com/100064896901498/posts/2756074464413007/

      Thanks for watching! These engines have a weak pull start from new, when I lived in Australia I also had a grey one which had a broken pull start which I repaired with a screw if I remember correctly. This one in the video also broke the pull start pulley, I also repaired that. There is a rebuild kit available, so it seems Tecumseh knew it was a weak point, however I have only been able to find the rebuild kit in the USA, making it really expensive with shipping, so as long as the screw fix holds I will leave it as it is. I worked on a lot of Victa mowers during my stay in Australia, but never a slasher.

    What kit did you use for the alternator? Also did you have to remove the voltage regulator?

    • @WilkoinFrance
      @WilkoinFrance 3 месяца назад

      This is the kit that I bought: tracteurbits.com/en/electrical-componants/3099-dynamo-to-alternator-conversion-kit.html?search_query=TBA-6914&results=1 You can leave the voltage regulator in place, but disconnect it as the alternator has a built-in regulator, it comes with a new wiring kit, you can also buy each component separately too. I removed my regulator as it was burnt out anyway. I did have to change the generator pulley over on to the alternator, as the supplied pulley had the groove slightly too narrow for the belt, but both had the same diameter shaft, so no problem there.

    • @WilkoinFrance
      @WilkoinFrance 5 месяцев назад

      I removed the flywheel using the incorrect way with a screwdriver wedged begind the flywheel and hitting the crankshaft with a rubber hammer whilst having a nut on the crankshaft thread so it wouldn't fly off. This is not the "right" way to do this, so I didn't include it in the video, as there's a risk of damaging the flywheel, crankshaft or case. Same with splitting the crankcase using a rubber hammer on the shaft whilst holding one side of the crankcase until they separated. The right way would be to use a crankcase splitting tool, which I don't have. There is a risk of damaging the crankshaft or case. I did not want a whole list of comments about the incorrect procedure, so cut it out.

    • @WilkoinFrance

      Hello, yes this is possible to adjust, if I remember correctly there is a adjustment rod on the right side of the seat close to the lift handle, you should be able to undo the clamping bolt and slide the stop to the desired position. I remember that I had mine set up a bit too far that the top arm would poke me in the back seat if lifted all the way up, but it did give good clearance and I never got stuck reversing. Otherwise here's a link to Kubota manuals, the procedure is the same as B7100, B6000 www.kubotabooks.com/AutoIndex/index.php?dir=Tractor%20Owners%20Manuals/

      Hi, the hydraulic oil and transmission oil are the same. Close to the gear lever is a hydraulic oil dipstick where you can check the oil level. For the front diff and front wheel cases you can undo the fill bolts and see if a bit of oil comes out or stick a stick in it to check the oil. Here's a link to different Kubota books, for the B7001, the procedure is similar to B7100, B7000, B6000 though B7100 also shows the hydrostatic transmission option.

    Hi Wilko! I'm looking to buy one of these lovely B7001 tractors. Can you tell me if it will take a Quick Hitch? Thank you!

      Hi, I am not sure if it will take a Quick Hitch, unless it attaches to the 3 point hitch system then yes. But just on its own to be honest I have never heard or seen something like that for a small tractor, you would probably have to ask a Kubota dealer.

    Salut, really enjoying this 835 restoration videos! Good work Wilko. I’m just doing one up myself but I’ve been stupid🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️ and let it run out of diesel today. I have manual for the 35 but doesn’t give me instructions on how to bleed with Lavallette pump. Would you be able to advise please?

      Hi, thanks for your comment. I have a manual for the 835 DS with the Lavalette pump which you can download here, it is in French vieux.tracteurs.free.fr/pdf/MF_835_manuel_instructions.pdf if you go to page 18-19 of the book which is page 21-22 of the pdf it describes the bleeding of the system with the Lavalette pump.

      @@WilkoinFrance thank you sooo much. That’s worked perfectly this morning. Really appreciate your very quick and helpful response. I bought what I thought was a straight 35 as a project but turns out it’s a very original 835, original bodywork, original dials all in French, so restoring as a French model 🇫🇷🇫🇷🇫🇷. Will keep watching you series to help with the project!!!!

      Happy to read that it worked out. Does your tractor still have the kigas priming system to cold start it? That's probably one of the only things that parts are not available for.

      @@WilkoinFrance yes many thanks for your help. No tractor doesn't still have kigas system fitted. Are there any websites/sellers you would recommend for parts. We have lots of Ferguson/MF/Vintage stores here in UK but i want to restore true to original so havre a feeling I'll be online shopping "en France" for most of this project!!!!!!

      I have actually found that a lot of the parts are the same as a FE35, with the red panels being from a MF35, I have used Tracteurbits, tracteurbits.com/en/16-mf-fe35-835ds which is a French online shop, they also have the option to change the language to English and they also ship to the UK. Service from them has been great, they also have some parts on eBay, sometimes cheaper on eBay than their own online shop, but you can contact them and then they change their price on their online shop. The other site that I used was an Irish website the parts were cheaper, though customer service wasn't great, they also ship to UK. Also some of the parts I bought didn't fit, so probably just a slight difference in French design I would assume. tractorspares.ie/product-category/ferguson/fe35/ Though I would probably stick with trying to buy as much as possible in the UK to not have problems with Customs delays and duties.

      Sorry for the late reply, I missed your message, these are the tires that came with the tractor, I believe they are Bridgestone.

    Quel differance entre le b7001 et la b7100? Mercie de répondre en Francais

      Bonjour, d'après ce que j'ai trouvé sur internet, c'est qu'il n'y a pas beaucoup de différence entre les 2 tracteurs. Certains disent que les composants internes de la prise de force et de la transmission sont légèrement différents, et que les dimensions des pneus peuvent également être différentes. Mais je ne suis pas un expert et comme je n'ai pas eu un Kubota 7100, je ne peux pas en être sûr.

    We have a Kubota B5000 without the rear arm kit. It could be used for many small jobs with this type of rear kit and with the drawbar kit would be great. Really enjoyed your video, taking time to properly explain the rear arm kit. I will need to check the rear wheels as I can't remember if they have the holes for the shaft.

    • @WilkoinFrance

      Thanks for your comment. It would be quite an annoying procedure to do if you also had to jack the tractor up and then remove a wheel just to install this bar.

      Thank you for your reply, well, our Kubota B5000 rear wheels do not have the holes for the 3 point linkage bar. They do have extensions to fit dual rear wheels. I have many other jobs the Kubota could carry out using this linkage kit. Winter work too. I watched a video where a Kubota was used to scrap milking cattle sheds daily. It looked so easy compared to using larger tractors and scrapers. Burning less diesel also.

      Ok so perhaps the entry level one such as the B5000 doesn't have the holes in the wheels, probably designed to only run the Kubota branded attachments. They really can do a lot more than you would think and pull more than twice their weight. I have found them to be economical too considering their age too.
