Aren’t most entanglements from a concealed carry standpoint like just a few yards? Forgive my ignorance but what’s the point of needing a light on pistol for 100+ yards? Seems like any light that can do up to like 50 yards is plenty enough

The real question is how long can each light stay on turbo mode? Yea it bright for 30 sec and have to go to low mode cause it over heated is no bueno 😅

Starting to realize they put TTI name and a compensator on the rival and charged 400 bucks extra. I don’t own it so I apologize but I have been researching the rival and the tti for months as to which one to buy and that’s what I see. Picking up rival next week

While I can certainly admit that the Surefire turbo has its use cases, for the distances 90+% of people are likely to encounter (and are competent at shooting at those distances) the TLR7 HLX is (almost) perfect. Great mix of range and spill and a compact form factor allowing IWB holsters to remain slim and comfortable. for a more overt application like military and law enforcement, or for civilians that want absolute tons of throw, the Surefire makes a ton of sense. For EDC use the TLR7 HLX is going to be way easier to carry comfortably and easily while also giving you tons of capability (especially for its size) It's roughly the same performance as a TLR1 HL but in a significantly smaller light body.

For the price comparison... Streamlight all day.

Yes, the only true concealed carry size pistol light that can fill the role of a duty pistol light. Sure you can carry with an x-300u but it quickly turns a G19 into the size of a G34.

I chose to upgrade from a TLR7A to the HLX. It was a worthy upgrade for a lifesaving tool, imo.

My only complaint with the x300 on the TTI Combat is how hard it is to manipulate the light with one hand. The switch is WAY out there.

Does the HLX have a strobe mode?

Thanks for posting this. Did you notice a difference in the black finish between the 7a and 7x? My x has a patchy black finish while the a is a solid clean black. Not sure if it's the anodizing or the material itself
