YOU ARE SPOT ON MY MAN !!!!!
Thank you!
Fuck I wish'd I watched this video 10minutes prior
how wS I supposed to stop that from happening though?
And may you be blessed too, sir! Thank you for your generosity.
What order pully when put the new belt?
doesn't matter as long as you put belt on water pump pulley last
Yea, I stripped the bolt, however I couldn't get this method to work. Am I missing something? I'm trying to get it back on, and I stripped that bolt. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
Are we referring to the same bolt head that releases the tension off the belt? So if you stripped that you apparently were just pulling too hard on it or didn't have a proper fit for the bolt head(or both). If You haven't fixed it yet, try a 6 sided socket that fits it tighter. You don't need to pull on it that hard to slide the belt on. Note: There is a place when you're pulling on the bolt head that you hit a wall of greater resistance. This is the point where you do not want to pull harder, And shouldn't have to.
Thank you, just about ready to do mine and you are spot on!
Ok I am changing my belt and that bolt is snapped what do I have to do to get a new belt back on?
You have to replace the belt tensioner. I watched a couple videos online in Kind of combined Some steps
There might be a trick I don't know about To release the tension
@@philhall7570 thanks for responding I got it replaced and wow not very fun! Now the check engine light is on and the car has a really low idle. Tomorrow I’ll pull the codes and go from there. Thanks my friend!
@@katphishricky1832 the idle will reset after you drive it a few minutes
Thank you sir
Thank you sir for those words of wisdom 😊😊😊😊
I tend to agree. 👍
i like your style
going to try this tomorrow. gave up trying to get it back on the alternator pully
I removed it from the water pump area. It still broke. I was looking for a video to confirm I was removing the tension off the belt properly. It still broke. Now I'm out another 150$
sorry, but there should have been absolutely no reason to have needed to pull on it hard enough to break it, unless it was already cracked to start with
@@philhall7570 That piston that kept the tension was locked up. It's all good now. The new tensioner works perfectly. My problem has been solved.
Thank you for the tip ..I am about to get busy on that....blessing brother...and amen Jesus is coming
thank you so much, this video made everything much easier ❤❤❤
I discovered this trick today and it is a life saver because it is much easier that trying to get inside those valley edges on the alternator
Thanks sir!
any chance you could share the torque settings for the two screws on the alternator?
I don't know that I've ever gone by torque settings when doing an alternator, But I did pull up 18' pounds on my phone
thank you very much for that tip.I'm gonna do it tomorrow because the belt is ready to snaps!
Thank you. I snapped that bolt BUT now i know how to install the new one easier and also NOT snap that bolt in the future.
Thanks for the heads up Phil! I'm replacing the alternator in my Camry and this tip really helped. Appreciate you man.
Thank God I found this because our belt is about shot and needs to be replaced. And I would have been the next guy to break the tensioner. God bless you for caring about others, I really appreciate it.
If you have any questions on Rain Gutters(Eavestrough)or Glass/Windows I have experience with that if you need tips?
Thanks so much- You kept your word! Such a great tip Phil! I did notice the smooth pulley below when I changed alternator for nothing as the scraping noise hasn’t stopped. Noticed more pulleys grinding after turning by hand and not only belt tensioner pulley but also A/C pulley. A/C pulley seems complicated for the DIY’er- so that’s gonna cost quite a bit I imagine!
Amen Brother
found my engine w/ this pulley bracket already broken, what is the solution now. Toyota Bracket Part Only ??
Yes you'll have to go ahead And replace The belt tensioner pulley And might want to go ahead and replace the belt too while you're at it, depending on how many miles it has. There are a couple of pretty good RUclips videos on how to replace The bell tensioner
Really appreciate this. God Bless
Thanks, I appreciate it!
