Nireeka, Homie vs Prime vs Revenant
Просмотров 2,5 тыс.Год назад
Took my bikes to my Nephews to try out on their property. The Homie vs Prime vs Revenant. Although the Prime is the most powerful of all the bikes, their favourite was the Revenant for its speed and both Homie and Revenant for their ease of use. The Prime is a mid-drive and a little complicated for them when it came to changing gears. It was also the noisiest of the three bikes.

How long did you wait for your order?
Love to see how great of a uncle you are and kids at play! The choice of music was great too! Can you show them climbing steeper hills and the time it takes for them to get up them versus you? Nothing dangerous, of course, just wanted to see how the prime can pull with extra weight!
What a great company to do that... conrats
Thank you sir! Helped me out on my aventon pace , cheers from Los Angeles!
Those magpies are so obnoxious
There's two different 1000w Bafang hubs, they should have used the one that has more torque, would have only topped out at 29mph with a 48v but would be a much more capable mountain bike.
I'm very interested in this bike, but I've seen several complaints about long lead times and bad customer service from Nireeka.
Same, i love nireeka mega
Great video! Im looking at buying this and wondering how well this will handle more technical mountain biking trails. Im not worried about power since I still want it to be an exercise but curious about the handling and pedal clearance.
Hi mate, thanks for the vid. Extremely intested in these bikes, particularly the Mega... Would love to know your experience with the bikes in Australia.... 1) how long did it take and how difficult was it to get these bikes delivered to Melbourne (looked to send to Adelaide) 2) were these bikes restricted in any way with their power and if so are you able to change this in the settings or with code cracking?
Excellent review, especially on a cellphone. The wonderful sound of the Australian magpies in the background was an special treat.
Anyone want to break any lock? You will need a hammer, a flat head screw driver and a spanner that's adjustable, smash the flat head screw driver into the key hole use the spanner to twist and force the lock the wrong way once it's snapped you can unlock and lock with any key.
So this bike eats hills quite easily?
Did you wait long to get yours? I’ve read on the forums that their logistics are slow to bad… Not sure about that one though… Nice bike btw! Cheers!
How much did you pay??
No need for 1,000 watt mid drive with no suspension .. Full suspension 1,000 watt rear hub is fine for 99%
If you don't need the mid drive 1,000 watt power then why not just have the 1,000 watt rear hub do everything ? Surely the Revenant is as powerful as a 500 watt mid drive.🤔
The wire bundle out front on the Revenant is very sloppy up front. Actually the both look messy. Nothing to use that can tidy those up?
I love the way u talk ❤❤❤❤ sending U Love From America 🇺🇸
Nicholas - totally off topic question. Have you found a compatible kickstand for the Prime? It appears you have one mounted? Did you drill holes to mount it? I mostly ride in the city where I live and at times want to stop some place for a drink or something, and hate always having to "lean" my bike against a pole, or whatever. Would love a compatible kickstand that doesn't require me to drill holes in the frame b/c I prefer to avoid that.
Did you get the upgraded 4 piston brakes ?
Wish you had given a bit more of a review. You didn’t really say much.
Great comparison! Do you know if the hub motor works with pedal assist in case the chain breaks during the ride? Or would it need the throttle to operate? I dont usually like using the throttle but would need to carry one in case there are any accidents during the ride.
how long did it take to get your revenant bike after you ordered it and what was the price landed in australia cheers andrew from perth
Good review , but a ride will prove its worth.
Absolutely
What size is your Revenant? I'm 182 cm and thinking if I should go with large 🙂
I'm 173 and it's 19 inches. You might be better off with the 21 inch
@@NicholasRaftopoulos The site says 185cm - 210cm L (21") ...for 165cm - 185cm M (19"). So, you say 21 inch for 182cm? Hm, interesting. 🤔 Now I'm uncertain. 😅
@@PepeTheFren it's really a matter of positioning. There is no right or wrong. If you want to sit more upright go for the smaller frame. If you want to sit more forward facing, go with the larger one. I have a 17 inch and a 29 inch homie. I got better on the 19 inch but I love riding the 17 inch because it's more nimble on the right tracks.
Great video😀
Thank you 😀❤️
I have the homie and love it so much. Another thing I wish the homie had was a bigger clearance for the rear tire. The rear can only accommodate upto a 2.10 tire. I changed my front tire to a 2.3 tubeless and it significantly improved the performance of the bike. All I could do for the rear is change it to a 2.1 tubeless.
Hi Joe, I have the Schwable Marathon Plus 27.5 x 2.25 on the rear of my Homie and Maxxis 27.5 x 2.4 on the front. I have not had a puncture on the Schwable yet. Not once. :)
@@NicholasRaftopoulos thank you Nicholas. Good to know I can push the rear to a 2.25. I tried a continental mountain king 2.3 for the rear and it didn't fit so I went back to a 2.1. When it wears out, il try the 2.25. thanks again👍🏼
@@josemagsajo Any time Joe :)
Do the boys know they are allowed to pedal too? 😂😂
Yes lol they certainly did 🤣😂
What frame size is the Revenant?
This one is 19 inch but it also comes in a 17 inch frame as well. Check it out at Nireeka.com
@@NicholasRaftopoulos I did but their frame size chart is not that informative and there are always inconsistencies between bike types and brands on how these sizes are measured. I would really appreciate it if you could tell me what's the distance between the ground and the saddle if you lower it all the way down. Thanks.
Not sure this video actually portrays the differences. You need to speak in more specific terms
Hi Beck, Don't worry, I'll be doing a more in depth video very soon. This video was designed to show the bikes being ridden boy the boys. You can see in the video the three bikes on use and can clearly hear the Prime motor as the bike is ridden. Thank you for your comment 😊❤️
@@NicholasRaftopoulos Thank you Nick!! Greets from Florida
@@NicholasRaftopoulos Thanks Nick. I have the Homie since 2002 and just ordered the small frame Revenant just in case I hook up with a Gall to go Riding together!
You will love it, it's an awesome bike
Which one do you prefer the best
Hi Nick, As an overall bike the Revenant ticks all the boxes. The Prime is choice for climbing steep terrain and riding on difficult surfaces that may be muddy, sandy, rocky etc. I love riding the Prime for this very reason. However it is not a long distance bike. It more for doing the hard work. The Homie feels very similar to the Revenant. It too is comfortable and a good bike to ride as well. I have risen the Homie on some wonderful MTB tracks and it handles them well but it's skinnier tyres do lack grip. I use the Homie for commuting mainly there days. It is ideal for long distance rides. I covered mine to a two wheel drive which gives me over 150km of riding before I need to charge batteries again. It also helped me ride up the mountain easier. The Revenant has no issues climbing up along the dirt road. It's 1,000w motor allows me to ride comfortably at 30 to 40km/h even up hill.
That’s awesome, I ordered the revenant and a extra battery so I’m excited for the journey
You will not regret it. I really have to say it's the best all round ebike I've ever ridden.
@@allenblevins7430 you can go on their website and build your own - nireeka.com/configurator
Hi can I ask, how’s was the bike in AUD and posted to you in Australia? Also what’s the top speed you managed on the bike. TIA
Hi Chris, I can pedal up to 50km/h on level ground and comfortable sit around 40km/h. 99% of my riding is off road and not in public areas. If I do ride in public areas I ride a lot slower. In fact when there are people and animals around I always slow down to to almost their speed. regardless of which direction they are facing. In relation to price depending on the final price of your purchase you can easily spend over $5,000 to $6,000 AUD. I paid $approximately $680 in fees once it landed in Australia.
Weight all up?
To be honest I have no idea but I can tell you it feels lighter than both my Homie and Prime. I should weigh them all one day soon :)
Is that Pearlized Silver? What do you think of the color compared to your other Nireeka bikes?
Yes it is the Pearlized Silver, It is a great colour. I like all the colours for different reasons. Personally I prefer the black only because it is less obvious and harder to see when in public. I dont like attracting attention.
Nice video, can you possibly make one with you riding it POV
It's on my list 😀❤️
Ordered 2 years ago still no bike. Zero response from Nireeka when asking for a refund. Stay away!
Hi Brian, I'm sorry to hear but without knowing the details to you circumstances it's hard for anyone outside of Nireeka to comment including myself. In addition, there is no point, defaming a company without stating the details of your situation. I can tell you from my point of view as a customer and also add someone who has helped others with their questions and our concerns about the Nireeka bikes. Nireeka have gone above and beyond in making sure their customers receive their bikes as promised. I've purchased 3 bikes personally. I paid full price.
Great review Nicholas! I love the Silver color!
Thank you Chris :)
would it be possible to drill these out ? as i’ve got my replacement barrel just need to get the old one out now
I'm sorry for my extremely delayed response but you can remove it without damaging it. I have done this in my bike
Would that work on a ancheer battery
The beautiful thing about this bike is.... nothing
The beautiful thing about nothing is you don't have to worry about it lol
I've lost keys to the battery lock and the bike ignition. I know I can change the lock cylinder but not sure about the ignition. Any ideas on how I can deal with the lost ignition key. It's a Lifecycle classic 2011 model? Thanks
If you can reach behind the ignition, you may be able to remove the ignition and replace it altogether with a new one. Otherwise you can take it to a locksmith too fix it. Either way it shouldn't be too difficult. Maybe a little fiddly but you should be able to manage it. I had no ignition key on my bike, so I removed the ignition and bypassed it altogether as the battery on my bike has its own off, on switch. Best decision I made 😊
@@NicholasRaftopoulos Great advice Nicholos, thanks. I wonder did you miss type when you said 'Either way it should be too difficult.' Thanks
@@Joewalshe38 I'm sorry, yes that was a typo 😃
I live in bangladesh. If i buy it. It will cost me 87000 BDT. Which is equal to 1000$
Did you end up buying one?
I heard Chain pops off often is that true?
Hi Chris, The chain doesn't come off but when you ride in gears 9 and up it skips. That is on the earlier Primes. I think Nireeka have since fixed the problem by adding a derailer extension to help the chain lock into more teeth on the smallest cogs.
do you take it on crazy off road jumps and 5+ foot plus drops ? I talked to a person that purchased one and said if you ride hard off-road even with the suspension fork it will break all the time ..I have one 7500 dollar ebike and looking for a cheaper one to handle same stuff if possible
I don't see why it wouldn't handle it. This one doesn't have suspension but I still take it off road. In fact 80% of my riding is off road. I do some jumps but nothing really big and that more to do with my capability than the bikes capability
@@NicholasRaftopoulos sweet!
Im in Melbourne also, just wondering how much did it cost you overall to get one in. Im looking at buying one.

I'm riding a prime. Set the speed limit to 90km. I'm riding it in sports mode, but the maximum speed is 40km. (pas) It is also possible only through extremely fast pedaling. 1000w motor, 17.5a battery. What's your maximum speed? What can I do to make the maximum speed 50km to 60km? Please help me.
Heber you tried riding down a hill? Lol Actually the only way to market it faster is to replace the front chain ring with a bigger one. The motor is limited by the amount of revolutions it can do pretty minute.
@@NicholasRaftopoulos I usually ride on flat land. How fast is the maximum speed when using the throttle? On a straight road. I'm curious about the maximum speed when using the throttle of the nireeka prime.
I didn't understand
What is this man
Where u from...how long did it take before u got ur homie from order? Im from Canada and ive been waiting for 5 months.
I'm in Australia. With the current state of our world freight and manufacturing crisis brought on be COVID-19 it is a waiting game. It is not unusual to be waiting for around a year. My order was one of the very first and part of my waiting time was the campaign with Indiegogo. It took about 14 months.
