EGYPT #41 DrivingTOUR from LUXOR to GIZA via DESERT HIGHWAY
The eighteenth day of the trip. Today we have the main objective to cover a large distance between Luxor and Giza. To do that in within one day of driving, we use the Desert Highway that runs across remote areas, away from small towns and villages. Expecting boring flat terrain covered by sand, we encounter quite diverse topography and views. With Giza being our final destination for the day, we end up re-entering the road madness of the Cairo Metropolitan Agglomeration. Virtual drive, with Polish commentary and a good dose of humor :) ...

      Hello :) ... well, I would not be so radical in my judgement about the Egyptians, but I agree their attitude can be painful and takes plenty of fun out of the visiting experience ... on the other hand, the noise created by all the tourist groups, especially from Latin countries and Asia, is equally disturbing ... so all in all, early visit or the late visit, like the one we have made in Abu Simbel (feel free to see that episode :) ), is the best solution to avoid those distractions :) ... PAP

    На початку в Марокко дороги непогані і взагалі - інфраструктура є. Але чим далі вглиб країни (подалі від туристичних місць на узбережжі), тим дорога стає гіршою. Шефшауен знаменитий своїми будинками блакитного кольору, але люди там достатньо консервативні, хоч деякі з них і балакають іспанською. Фес - знамените історичне місто... завжди хотілося там побувати. Але... якось іншим разом. Щасливої дороги!

    Is there another route slight further east initially if I remember, with more canyons (nearly 20 years ago) looks like road through Durmitor has been paved!

      Hello :) ... yes, the road through Durmitor has been paved ... when I was there the first time in 2007 it was already like that :) ... I believe this road from BiH / MNE border along the Piva Canyon is the only one accesible in this part of MNE, but I might be wrong :) ... PAP

      Cieszymy się bardzo, że nasza twórczość się podoba :) ... taki dokładnie jest zamysł, aby pokazać egipską rzeczywistość, tą mniej znaną dla przeciętnego turysty, znajdującą się poza hotelami, lekko z przymróżeniem oka, ale w miarę obiektywnie i bez cukrowania czy stygmatyzowania :) ...       Witam :) ... o ile dobrze pamiętam, w czasie naszej wyprawy w październiku 2023 było to około 10 EGP za litr, czyli około 0,3 USD za litr, czyli ok 1,3 PLN za litr :) ... Pozdrawiam ... PAP

    hej, wybieram sie we wrzesniu do Vlore i bedziemy chcieli rowniez podrozowac do KSAMIL, czy uwazasz, ze pogoda we wrzesniu bedzie odpowiednia na tyle aby sie nia cieszyc ale nie umierac z ciepla? niezbyt dobrze znosze nawet Polskie upały haha, pozdrawiam.
