A morning surf session in El Palmar (Spain) (March 2023). It felt like I was only there to observe. With the best intentions I could not get in position for one of those perfect A-frames.

Morning surf at Pointe de Lervily in November 2022. Testing 4k Hyperview on the new GoPro Hero 11 Mini. Hyperview makes the Wave look way fester and smaller then it actually is.

I was here two days ago, it was terrifying. Sucked over the falls twice, and thought I was going to drown, but I managed to catch a couple of waves (seven according to Garmin). I've just restarted bodyboarding (I know not really surfing) after a break of over 20 years so it was also exhausting getting out.

El Palmar, cuando está grande de verdad, nada tiene que envidiar a Pipeline. El problema? Que tardas en llegar al pico, mínimo 15 minutos... si llegas. Recuerdo un 8 de febrero

I've seen that point PUMPING some seriously big waves (okt 2021 for example)... looks like a fun spot.
The other day it was really big. Only guys with 7' plus boards out.
@@gachsurfing yeah, I think it was the same when we saw it going off. Looked like serious fun. As in: you got to know what you are doing. I'd like to surf it in some smaller waves though.

@@youdigsurf Me too. I was there twice this summer and right after, visited 3 or 4 beaches and most had these same rocks. Great & powerful surf over there when it gets big. Even got too big for my taste some days. I am Belgian, we got slow, lazy waves here.
Spent four years living in El Puerto and had a blast riding nice waves all over the area. I miss it every day!

I dont think there are sharks in this area. But it always feels a littke sketchy when you paddle out alone.

What a beautiful day in good old El Palmar! Descent size on some of the set waves as well. I loved to surf nearby spots like yerbabuena and Canos de Meca too. I lived there for a year almost 15 years ago. Back then not a lot of people knew about Palmar. Nowadays it's a different story. Anyways... Thank you for let us having the POV from a real good day out there!
Palmar truly is a Gem. I also checked the beachbreak at Caños de Meca and it looks like it has a lot of potential.
Any slabs in this region? These barrels looked pretty closed I must say

Thats what i was trying to do, but failed :)
@@gachsurfing haha yea it can happen. with a break that has more than one peak its always a good idea to choose before hand if you want to focus on lefts or rights. it'll make you less stuck trying to choose a peak and give you more opportunity to catch waves

el palmar valencia? usually mediterranean works with storms ! (Marsella, Francia surfer here haha), such good conditions you had !!

not a great idea to promote a place in this way. people need to work a little to find a good wave. not just cruise youtube.

20 years ago we camped in the cave there & only saw 1 wind surfer in 4 weeks. Was pumping the whole time. No road down at that point you had to walk quite far. We found a mental slab 300 meters futher up the point 2. Went bavk 5 years ago & didnt even surf was packed & some french old guy was out the back shouting at people.
@@peacepuffz Yeah i saw the Slab too, it looked amazing with the offshore wind. But you have to be either mad or reeeal good to surf it.
