Taking Notes in Engineering Is Useless. Here's Why.
Просмотров 1646 месяцев назад
Taking notes in college (engineering) did not help me learn. It was wasting a lot of time in class, and it did not improve my grades during my time at university. I found that lectures were more effective if I just listened to the professor instead of writing down notes. Attending a university and studying engineering is difficult, but if you optimize your learning strategies, college can be ea...
I also disagree on the notebook. I understand where you're coming from, but something like field notes could be a nice alternative.
I might have to try a thin notebook alternative next time then!
Is that an Aggie ring a spy, Alex? TAMU‘ 85 here. Good advice here. Thank you.

PACKING FOR RUSSIA FOR DUMMIES......AUTHOR BRITNEY GREINER
If you go to France or Italy, you have to look good
If you can pack nice clothes, go for it!
I do think the other way around - I do pack different things when I go to different places in the US. I don`t have the same pack for the Keys as I have for Vegas or even Boston. When I visit friends in Santa Fe, I have really different things then when I meet up with other friends in Athens, Greece. You learn as you go along....but when in India, buy your cotton clothes on site. Happy travels 😎
Yes you do learn as you go! That’s a lot of friends in a lot of different places. Happy travels!
The only two things we booked in advance were trains between cities, the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona, and Leonard DaVinci's The Last Supper in Milan
Yeah for some places/things, you for sure have to book in advance. It seems like you had a great trip!
I have to disagree about not taking a notebook. The value of the notebook is the real-time, unedited thoughts, doodles, sketches, and small details that get lost over time in digital form. Just take a soft-cover A6 notebook from RHODIA (144 pages)or another brand. You will value it in 10+ years when your view of the world and circumstances change, it may mean you are unable to travel or you need to do a different type of travel due to kids or a partner.
Wow, that's an interesting viewpoint. The best part about something like this is that it will be so much more valuable to you than any souvenir you might buy. Thanks!
About to go to Europe for about 70 days. I feel as tho I like the authenticity and novelty of the journal. Maybe I’m just stubborn but I’ll definitely take into consideration leaving it due to the weight.
That sounds like a great trip. I definitely hear you about the novelty of a physical journal. Whatever you decide, it’ll still be an amazing experience!
Hello Alex! Do you edit videos yourself or have you hired someone? I’m an editor and would love to help you if you’re interested

Cool, thanks for the numbers.

I always say make a list of 2 that you definitely want to see and have a backup list if you have time,no pressure. Aah France, they go on strike at the drop of the hat (not like us english who plan it 2 weeks ahead) and protests, the French are great at a protest (even applies to Quebec over here in Canada).
That's a good way to see things on your trip and not be stressed about it! And yeah the strikes can really make you think on your feet, but I guess that's part of the fun when traveling.

The cheapest place to get food is a grocery store. If I decided to do that more, I would’ve spent way less. Which countries/cities?
Really good job bro 😎
Thanks! Hope it helped
You could drop a lot of weight by using merino, you can go weeks wearing the same t shirt and it shouldn’t smell.
Thanks, I've heard great things about merino clothes! That's something I want to check out soon.
It's really refreshing to see (and hear) such practical advice with sound reasoning. No need for super expensive gear, just whatever suits you. I also think that what you're recommending would work for travel anywhere in the world, with small modifications to suit particular seasons.
Such kind words, thanks! Yeah travel doesn’t have to be super expensive, and you don’t need expensive gear to go see awesome places
Very informative…thank you
Of course, I hope it helped!
Yes, so much more enjoyable in the fall or spring compared to summer imo
For sure, there's less crowds and it's less expensive!
You are so right,i follow the exact plan as you, keep up the good job 👍
