    One reason that battles like Minsk and operation Bragation is partly because as Americans we concentrate on our national experience and have a tendency to minimize the efforts of Britsh and Canadians as well as the Soviets which if mentioned are usually called allied troops.Another reason that the the Soviet Union and Eastrn front got much less attention than it deserved, is that until the end of the Cold War in 1990 very little written material was available. A lot of good books and video footage has been made available.

    It was a stupid plan, the Germans could have taken Moscow and large amounts of the northern front and still would have taken Kiev with smaller attacks.

    If I remember correctly, first the Khmer Rouge invaded Vietnam. Kampuchea at that time first declared war on Vietnam and attacked the Vietnam border post. The Vietnamese response was effective and very brutal. The occupation of Cambodia was carried out quickly and efficiently. Many Cambodians welcomed the Vietnamese as liberators. Do not forget that at that time the USA and the UK openly supported the infamous Khmer Rouge in the fight against the Vietnamese. You pretended to be silly and said that you didn't know about the crimes of the Khmer Rouge. Neither is their sale of Opium to your intelligence agencies. It later turned out that it was the opposite of your "official" story. Just like in the Balkans in 1990/91. You really know how to lie and screw things up.

    • @ussenterprisecv6805
      @ussenterprisecv6805 6 дней назад

      @@sauceempty418 no, soviet numbers helped win ww2. It definitely wasn't their competence. If they were competent they wouldn't have been pushed so far back in the first place. And even with their massive landmass and all of their natural resources they required supplies from Britain and America and they couldn't even escort those supplies themselves, something the British basically had to do completely alone. So you can say Soviet competence won ww2 but you would be extremely wrong to do so. Sure every now and then they had some surprisingly good moments showcasing some levels of competence but they were only allowed those moments by the competence of the British and later Americans who allowed them to keep fighting by being a major distraction. Had Britain not been there the Soviets would have lost, on the other hand the British wouldn't have lost if the Soviets were gone because they actually know how to fight a war. Though technically none of this matters as I didn't say the Soviets were incompetent in my original comment, I said the current battle of Kursk is showcasing Russian incompetence.

    November 11, 1918! If France, Great Britain, and the United States had not hammered Germany in the peace talks, Nazi Germany would never have happened. Say what you want, Germany entered the First World War because a Serbian dissident killed the Austrian King and Queen. Russia put the Serbian up to the assassination. The German people didn't deserve what happened to them!
