I know it has been a while but I finally got around to doing this video. I know the seven stock event was canceled but the speed ventures track day was still going on. I was hopping to drop more time off of my pb and get into the sub 1:50 group. Unfortunately I wasn't able to get it. how ever I still dropped 1.4 sec off my pb. so now I'm down to a 2:01.3.

Getting some real track time with project stitch. Found some flaws with the car and my flaws with my driving. But we’ll fix that the next time out.

First shake down of project stitch and dusting of the cobwebs from not being on track in years. The car felt good just a minor problem with a hose. Luckily it was a easy fix and we where back out on track.

Hey, i just got me some of these for the rears but they’re 2 inches shorter than the stock ones and i have them extended all the way.
Yeah The rears are very short. I’d check to see how much droop you have. If you can add some preload to the spring that would a little extra hight but you would be sacrificing some down wards travel.

you can remove air pump, remove A/C. Change battery and clean terminals stable main electric power improves ignition and so brings more hp in output.
Oh I know. it’s not a dedicated track car. It’s just a daily that hits the track once in while.
remove AC belt and you will get at least 1-2hp improvement. And also you can get some extra hp using thinner oils. Something like 0w20 but bearings gonna hurt.
Yeah removing ac can help with a little extra hp. There are some other things that would helped get a little extra hp. But this was more of just a simple build for a daily driver and track once in a while.

So with the electric rack it’s tied into a few other thing that I got rid of. So this was just a solution. It is rew swapped.

Definitely not cheap. There are some easier ways especially if it’s going to be a street car. But either way it’s not cheap.

We had to take little brake from the project but we will start back up it in two weeks. But I will do a video on finishing all that up.

I use the same Mishimoto 4 inline thermostat on my custom made oil cooler kit for my 2.5 turbo Focus ST! so far no problems at all!

Yeah I was. I thought he was two but after three motor failures under 5k miles I got fed up and cut my losses. But this new one I built has been running strong.

Yeah and fresh set of tires. These are on their 4 track day so they are pretty shot.
niiice! I usually do two full laps at least at about 75% to warm up my tires. It will get you every time .

question I turned over my stock rx8 and all my lights just didn't come on and I didn't even get a crank I put in a new battery had it running last week and just ript it one time and the motor sounded healthy can you point me into the right direction as too what I should be looking at or looking for only 80k on the dash everything is oem
I’d check make sure the battery connection are tight after that I’d check fuses or make sure the battery is charged.
what's the mod list of rx8 ?

Why don't brap brap?
The half bridge port isn’t on the primary’s. You won’t hear brap because the valves in the intake.
How are u running the pump for the rack?
Why not just use a nc miata rack? Basically a stock hydraulic rack.Stock mounts only need cutting and repositioning slightly and you can still use stock tie rods as well as the stock steering uni. That rack looks to be mounted further forward as well as lower than stock which is going to create extra bump steer by the way? Nc racks are just over half a turn faster too lock as well.
Honestly never thought of about the mc miata. I figured since they are so close to the rx8 it would of been electronic to. But between e36 and nc the ratios are pretty much the same.
@@flatoutinc1040 yeah nc are pretty much a rx8 chassis. Only a couple hour conversion. Nd are electric pump

Great video mate, very helpful ! With the mr2 power steering pump, how does it "know" the amount of assistance too give you ? Is there an rpm signal that it needs etc ? I did an rew swap on my rx8 a few years ago and for whatever reason the factory power steering stopped working. I have tried everything and been back and forth with adaptronic but cant find the cause. I would love to do a hydraulic swap but cant figure out how the mr2 pump adjusts for vehicle speed etc. Cheers !
So with the mr2 pump it’s just a on or off pump. A lot people use a inline valve to control the pressure to the rack.

What fans are u running on ur rx8? And which one is the best
Sorry late response. I’m running the Mishimoto 12” race fans. They say they run 1800 cfm each. I run two of them. I can say they work and keep the car cool even on a 90°+ track day. I can’t say much for other brands. Since I don’t have experience with them.
Do you have a link to them ?

I also just came across another fan company I want to try their fans pull more cfm then the Mishimoto’s the company is called perma cool. But idk how they are or the quality.

thanks my man. Was in purely rx8 asking you about this exact setup. knowing i'll have to cut a little square to feed my lines (which are stainless steel -10 ) from the outter most fitting will make this easier
