Just use the check port for filling and checking the fluid, taking all that stuff off to drain in fill transmission the only thing I took off was the belly pan I used a long funnel to fill from the check port

Thank you. The video shows everything in great detail. Our dealers in Ukraine are also very greedy. For $58 and 20 minutes of time, I did it all myself. I ordered from Ali Express. Do not buy a switch on Ali Express with auto mode for very very cheap. It won't work correctly. I bought the first one for $28. And it didn't work as it should. I opened a dispute and my money was returned. I ordered from another seller for $58 and everything worked correctly.

Wifes patriot 2008, 51k Kilometers.. yup .. trans changed at 12k.. my Nitro, 2 transmissions under dealer/factory warranty before 110k kms.. Service rep at dealership said that there was a problem with low fluid coming from manufacturers.. No reason to disbelieve him as had a 30plus year and approx 30 trucks releationship with that dealership, never had a problem..

I have a 08 Liberty Limited…my driver said signal and hazards quit working. Replaced bulb and socket still won’t work. Volt reader says it’s getting juice Blinks fast on instrument cluster and says turn signal lamp is out. I guess I’m going to change the switch and see what happens

Just a question about the transmission fluid level that you found at first - Is it supposed to be checked with the engine running and transmission in neutral, or engine off and trans in park? Thanks

Mine is doin same thing and spraying it with water stops the noise, did you figure out what was causing it?

The noise that comes and goes is that one normal or is it part of the squealing noise also

Ya thinking jeep has no idea with have an overflow port that doesn't really apply to anything:) and not coming with their own dip stick measure:)

Just completed 3.8 drained 5.5 until dipstick read properly, with temp using scan tool. Hope this helps someone!

Isn’t there a filter to change on the side? They sell one for it! About the size of a coffee cup!

For $52 and 15 minutes of my time, I replaced the part in my 2014 Patriot (65,000 mi). The dealer quoted the part as $600 and $300 for installation.😮

I replaced my switch but still having the same problem. The low beams work when daytime running lights are on. But do not work when you turn the headlights on at night. The high beams work though. Any ideas what to try next?

Man I can’t thank you enough. I drive a 2015 Jeep Compass and I started having issues at 100k miles with my headlights wanting to flicker on and off when driving. The dealership wanted to charge me $300 for the switch and labor. But after finding your video I ordered the part myself from RockAuto which was only $58 after tax and shipping. Then I installed it myself with the hep of your video. Thank you again. You saved me $$$

Me again......How many total quarts did you end up using? I am curious why you didn't drop and clean the pan and change the transmission filter? I have a Compass 2.4L. I need to change the transmission fluid, transfer case and differentials. I had a Grand Cherokee where I changed the transmission filter. I don't really want to do that again.

What does a Shop charge to replace a $65 part? $250 to $300

This was very helpful. I just bought a 2015 compass that has the same transmission. I’m gonna try the AMSOIL ATF and DIY it like you did. I got just under 100,000 miles on mine, but it’s still in good shape. I can just feel every shift. Hoping it helps a little when I service it.
