@@SouthTrainsAndPlanes I started off rail fanning just on the change, so there was a little bit of everything. In the pre internet days, it was very hard to find information, so we missed a lot of good opportunities.

Yes, 5th was disconnected and the train was running empty up to Tailem Bend

Thanks, I love Crystal Brook, only place you can get trains for Melbourne to Perth, Perth to Sydney, Darwin to Adelaide, and Sydney to Adelaide in the same place

@@SouthTrainsAndPlanes I caught the Indian Pacific from Gladstone (just up the road from Crystal Brook) to Sydney. The train stopped just to pick me up, and it stopped right where I was standing. I thought that was fabulous.
