Nice video I have a canon and i want try that xt5, and yea like you I don’t do all that junk after take a pic, I don’t like anithing about editing, maybe resize or reframe is all, nice photos btw 🙌🏻
Nice pics, just came back from Japan. Unfortunately did not take my Fuji camera. I have an X-T4 and am considering the X-T5, I am a hybrid shooter and still on the fence with the increased megapixel, do you think that it's worth the change? I know the video specs are a little better.
just ordered an X-T5 moving from a canon eos r. Even when I got the canon originally I really like the manual dials that fuji had and the film sims. Since I'm going back to focusing more on photography as just a hobby, I'm really excited to be trying out this new system (and you don't have to take out a mortgage for the fuji lenses unlike the RF ones, so I'm really looking forward to that too)
Loved this!!
What beautiful photos. Can you do a video on your favourite film sims? I did have the X100v but wanted to be able to change lenses. Now I have the XT5 and XT50. I still need to play with them both and then choose which one to keep. And my favorite little baby is my Ricoh GR111x
Please make Non-Technical Lens reviews for the Fuji lens you enjoy to use. And also Marry Me, because I agree with everything you said in this video. I used to use the Sony camera a7 cameras and transitioned to Fuji XF cameras and loved the whole experience so much. The Canon system has good color science, however the recent mirrorless series lenses have worse colors compared to the old Canon DSLR lenses. Also Canon's whole camera system seems behind the time for 5 years minimum technology wise. Sony a7 cameras are good in many ways but the G master lenses base color isn't that beautiful although their color science have been radically changing over the years compared to their competitor brands. I used to use the Zeiss Loxia E-mount lenses and Batis lens primarily during my Sony a7 camera days because it has uncomparible beautiful colors. If you are interested in buying more expensive Fuji lenses I recommend you to find out about Zeiss Touit XF mount lenses as well as the Fuji XF lenses. Especially the 50mm Touit is very light weight and has very beautiful colors. I've recently bought a 56mm XF lens and I like the images, however I haven't been bringing it out that much because of the weight of the lens. Touit lenses are very light weight and have very different, arguably more beautiful colors then the XF lenses, although I really like the colors of the XF lenses. Subscribed
I use a XE2. Love the simplicity of use and the colors other older X trans sensor.
I first bought the X-T2 when it came out, it was my first interchangeable lens camera, it took place from my Sony RX100 II, the Fuji taught me more about manual photography with the physical dials than Sony ever could have. I now have an X-T4.
I just got a Fuji X-S20. Waiting for my 35mm F2.0 to arrive. Can't wait to try it. Thanks!
I came from Nikon (d300 was my last) and took a long break from photography because phone became so convenient. When I got back into it a few years ago I spent months looking at different systems before deciding. My criteria was: small, good for video and stills, interchangeable lenses, versatile and not too expensive. I loved Nikon and have a lot of lenses but it’s very bulky for travel, and most of my lenses were pre dslr era so might not have worked so well with new cameras. So dslr was out. I liked the look of the olympus and lumix cameras but back when I shot film I fell in love with fujifilm velvia, so the film simulations really piqued my interest. I just don’t want to spend time in photoshop or Lightroom. I’m not a pro so JPEGs are great for sharing! I use a X-S10 mostly for video and an X-T30ii mostly for travel. The X-T30 with a 27mm lens is my go to for stills and it’s very nice for travel because I fits easily in a jacket pocket. Having both is nice for making videos of how to make things because you can have two views when filming alone! Lovely review, I enjoy your content, thank you!!
The best Fuji X-T5 review
Beautiful photography!
Can i know what film recipe you used?
Hello! Current Fuji user here but soon to be Sony user. I agree with you, I found myself post-processing raws all the time (which I really enjoy doing) and realized I wasn’t making the most of Fuji’s jpegs. 🤦♂️ I love Fuji colors tbh. Maybe I’ll make this as my secondary camera.
Stunning images 😍 absolutly love your style. Was all shot with that recipe shown i the video?
I liked your review very much. I use an X-T20 and an X-T1, both great cameras. An XT5 would have been nice, though. I liked the photos that you have taken.
I have an xt30ii and so far I am enjoying it sometimes has focus breathing issues but outside of that it’s pretty good.
🎉🎉happy birthday Singapore, your stories are cool and informative.
This format is soooo good! So inspiring.
I love my x100v and I take it with me almost everywhere I go. I really like the film simulation and especially having an ND filter and a flash with at all time is very helpful at times.
And for stabilisation - this is all about technique. It's actually where the non-flippy screen comes into its own. You just hold the camera at waist level where it is most stable and anchored, and pan using your body. Any other issues can be fixes using something like DaVinci Resolve which has the best post-production stabilisation - but honestly I rarely use that feature of it, as my footage is coming out pretty smooth at 4K 60.
Ohh nice, yea thanks for sharing. When I shoot in higher frames it's definitely better! And this makes me so tempted to try out DaVinci Resolve man. Thanks for the tips!
@@companyofthebrave You are welcome. Yeah - 60fps is definitely a lot smoother than 24 or 30. You can try out Davinci Resolve for free (I bought Final Cut Pro) but hate FCP in comparison now. I still use the free version - the paid for version does not look as if it gives me too much of what I need. Enjoy your time with it - I love my X-T5. I have tried things like the X-H2, X-H2S, Lumix S5 II and Sony A7IV - I prefer my X-T5 to them all :D
Good video :) I sort of disagree about the mode switching between video and photos - it is a lot easier than hunting around on a top dial to change custom settings. You just learn to "know it" and flick the switch on the front without having to think about it. Perhaps you would like to elaborate on that? If you also set up the buttons to allow you to switch between custom settings you can easily switch between between them without taking your eye off the EVF. You have 7 customs settings for photos and 7 custom settings for video. I am not sure there are many cameras like this, including the Fujfilm X-H2 and X-H2S - that is again all controlled from the top dial for both of those. Not sure I could ever think about changing my X-T5 for anything else :)
It's something I definitely gotta get used to and use my dials! haha just that previously my canon didn't need to switch mode to capture video, just press record, so it was a little bit easier. But definitely using more of my custom dials now! Thank you 🙌
Your photography is stunning.
Thanks so much! Appreciate it 🙌
I full agree with you. After more than 20 years with Canon systems, I moved to Fujifilm x-t5 as well and I really enjoy to experiment and change settings during my last trip in Japan. Since it was my first trip with Fuji, I kept both raw and jpeg to make sure to recover my picture even after some mistakes (on my side) but I think that, potentially, with an accurate setup of the camera, the jpeg of Fujifilm are almost perfect, no needs to go deeply in post processing. I'm still trying to find the correct level of sharpness and clarity since I'd like to set them as average for street, landscape and portrait with basically 3 lens that can perform in different ways...which levels of clarity and sharpness you have?
Ya totally! I shot JPG only and didn't really touch clarity. Sharpness sometimes I'll adjust it if it's for client work haha but when it's for my own enjoyment, I'm ok with just the average settings. But thanks for sharing about clarity, I didn't know about that. Will test that out 👌
@@companyofthebravethks to you for your interesting videos! Yes...personally I have clarity plus 1 but I tried to put it at maximum level and it's really to much, especially when shooting at sweet spot diaphragm. Bye bye
Wow this is amazing! Such a unique and creative way to document your adventures ☺️
Thank you for your comment! I had a good time haha and thank you for stopping by 😄
Happy birthday, Singapore! And good recorder practice. I had no idea!
hehe thank you!! we all had to learn the recorder in primary school in Singapore 🤣
Nice video. I have the x-t5 and thinking of going jpg only since I dont have time to edit in post, and the backlog is building up 😢 Do you shoot jpg only and edit the jpg if you have to correct something or do you save the raw file as well?
Thank you! I only shoot in JPG to be honest haha, cos I don't enjoy too much editing and I like to save space so I didn't shoot the photos in this video as raw, only JPG 🙌🏼 I totally get the backlog struggle...
Thank you for your answer 🙏 I'm gonna go full jpg after this 😊 Is the images in this vid shot on different film sims/recipes or do you have a favorite? Love the esthetic of these photos 🤩
Love these photos! Would you mind sharing the recipes for it? 😊🙏🏼
Aw thank you!! Appreciate it Here's the recipe : Classic Chrome White Balance : Daylight WB Shift : R:3, B:-5 Highlight Tone -1.0 Grain Effect Roughness (Weak) Grain Effect Size (Small)
Cool video and amazing prints 🤩
thank you!! appreciate it 🙌
What do you see is the advantage of the xt5 over the xh2? How would compare xt5 to the new xt50?
ahh i wish i had the chance to test out all the different cameras and do a proper deep dive, but I only used the Xt4 and the xt30 (for a day) 😅
I love my X-T5. It’s a great shooting experience. Also, I don’t enjoy doing a lot of post processing, so the film simulations are great. I shoot in Raw, but add/change Fuji’s film simulations in Capture One. It’s true that Sony and some others have better autofocus, and full frame is generally better in low light. But the positives of the Fuji X system more than make up for its minor shortcomings. Not to mention the small size, which is a big plus. I can fit my XT5 and 4-6 lenses including Fuji’s 70-300mm in a small backpack that doesn’t even weigh very much. This allows me to shoot a wide variety of genres including sports and wildlife without carrying around much gear. As an all around system that’s also highly portable and has good presets (i.e., film simulations), I’ve been very happy with my XT5. It’s not perfect, but no camera system is.
That's true, many interesting points thanks for sharing! Totally agree, no camera system is perfect. And yes I love how much smaller my fuji is 🙌🙌
Oh heck no, fuji low light is better than canon I could tell you that. Fuji 12,000 iso is better than canon 800 iso. The difference is massive.
Oh sorry what I mean is that the ISO range for the fuji is smaller compared to some other cameras in other systems! But I'm so glad to hear that the Fuji low light is better than Canon, thanks for sharing haha, extra happy with my fuji now 😉
@companyofthebrave I came from canon and moved to Fuji. I'll never go back after seeing the Fuji jpegs. Not sure what magic they do but I'm happy to shoot higher ISO with Fuji when needed.
Fuji high iso better than canon? I must be missing a lot. As an owner of canon r6 and xt5, canon iso 12800 blows the xt5 iso 3200 off! 😅 Maybe you were referring to canon DSLR, the likes of 5d mkii or 5dsr. If yes, then yeah i agree that the xt5 can easily match if not beat the high iso of those DSLRs.
@@fremzter yes totally agree haha, there is some magic 💫
@@amateurphotographer1096 maybe there's a video out there talking about ISOs for sure! haha but I didn't really compare canon vs fuji 😅
Can you share what are the recipes you used for the shots taken in video?
ahh so sorry I really should have recorded them down haha, but I tweaked it a little for each location and time of the day! But I believe I used Classic Chrome film simulation and then I bumped up the yellow and greens in the white balance and added a bit of grain 🙌🏼
I managed to put my pictures back and used the app to find my recipe! haha Classic Chrome White Balance : Daylight WB Shift : R:3, B:-5 Highlight Tone -1.0 Grain Effect Roughness (Weak) Grain Effect Size (Small)
@@companyofthebrave much appreciated!
Good stuff, love the way you explain about the XT5. I have the exact same thoughts about the camera too
Thanks man! Glad to hear that 😉
Really appreciate this review. I like the point you made about this being slower, more intentional. I like to fiddle with the dials and everything, so that's why I'm giving this a go. Thank you for the review!
Pleasure! Hope you enjoy 🙌 Thanks for watching the review too!
Lovely review
thank you!
Great photos. Subscribed!
Thank you!! Appreciate it 😊
I'm using the X-T5 and Xh2s my biggest problem with this camera is the autofocus . I've tried every setting and use all the lens that would work well with it and still no hits like it's suppsoed to be doing.
no problems with autofocus here.
@@el_cabroncitowhat are you photographing? I’d get misses with shooting stationary birds using eye tracking. Single continuous there’s no problem

@a97b18b my answers are blocked here for some reason. my account has some examples.
I heard from my friend who uses Xh2s that sometimes he does have a problem with autofocus. My XT5 generally is fine if I put it at the right focus setting! Can try playing around with the different modes, might help?
I had a really hard time choosing between the Fujifilm X-T5 and the Nikon ZF….I ended up choosing the Nikon and I’m really enjoying it.Thanks for this review and it’s nice to see other users who don’t like touching up images..I also share just as I took them.Watching from Kenya🇰🇪
why did you go nikon? looks big, and not a lot of lenses thought for the form factor available (and no aperture ring).
Nikon has better autofocus, fullframe I guess
