This is my next favorite all time VH songs after "Mean Street."

The part that almost all of the EVH secret sauce chasers seem to overlook is the incredible swing in his playing and the band as a whole. " It seems kind of frightening how this younger generation swings" says it all. I've taught guitar pretty much full time for 20 or so years and the feel for good swing has noticeably diminished over the years.

No one but Ed could come up with these chords and phrasings. Insane

If you took every guitar player ever, and put them in one room, there would be loners by themselves, small groups jamming together, some bunches trading licks, all strumming and throwing down licks, but in the center of the largest crowd gathered in the room, is this guy. And they are all watching him. Someday, I will get to watch too.

At 0:48 you can just hear how loud it must have been in that room. That guitar was about to take off with all the feedback, and King Edward was able to tame it back into control.

Also playing like a pimp through a totally unforgiving sound. You sound like shit through that amp if you cant play well. It blasts who you are as a player. There are plenty of wonderful players today that have cool tones. But eddies was his hands. 1 of a kind

It's funny people say Eddie was all tricks and he had no feeling. Lol. Nobody could touch his groove and intensity. This solo is exactly how he felt

People always talk about tapping. So boring , Eddie did tons. Listen to the tone! But one thing Eddie detractors can't detract. He invented that robotic sound when you pull off 2 fingers in rythmn and drag your right hand over the strings. Cool as shit. Makes anyone sound cool in passing

All out of a single channel super lead. Crazy. His volume control is insane. Pick slides. Impossible to play like that but he was out of the box singular

Most sophisticated ryhthm player ever in rock. His style is so intense. He does so many small things all the time. So hard to copy. So perfectly executed. His pick attack is insane. His tone is him not the amp. He picks and hammers with conviction. Not easy to play thru that tone. Blasts mistakes if you arent good. Unforgiving. Thats why i hated van hagar. The tone sucker. Too much distortion and chorus. The Marshall tone will always be the original VH tone.
