I wish someone would do a smile mix with all the good bits of Dae Lims mix (do you like worms, interlude at the end of vega-tables and love to say dada are my favourites), the transitions in Tragiclifeform's and some of the arrangements off BWPS (the version of fire on this is fantastic).
Can’t say the production is very great and i sang all the vocals myself (some better than others) but I took a hack at that exact concept
I have been looking for this song for years. I heard it on a bootleg 20 years ago and it was called ‘holidays’ which confused me , no end
Good work. Thanks.
If you could only fly in Brian's vocal from his version of Smile.
thanks dae
This is still one of my favorite mix
RUclips poopers sure have awesome music tastes.
I still can’t find this ytp. Is it deleted and gone forever? People say it’s life of crime by awfulfawful, or a chocolate with nuts ytp by awful. What’s the actual story here? I’ve been looking everywhere

Beautiful.
I love this
Great job! This version is so perfect I wish it was the official released version
This is the best version , closest to the one
This is a really big ask, but can anyone identify all separate vocal harmonies and other little bits that were used to create this version? It's an amazing mix and I want to try to recreate it proper mono.
Yeah, I think this dropped as part of Smile AD, you can find all of the bits used to mix it… somewhere, if you look hard enough. If you’re still interested I can look.
Fantastic---------------ohhhh, if only----------------------------------WolfSky9, 74 y/o
Wtf, why this is not the final version ?
Love the combination of vocals. Perfect.
Great stuff. Links not working sadly... :/
Best version ever
This is made by a genius, yes Brian Wilson!!!!!!
Yes I agree 👍
Divine. Didn't want it to end.
Fucking Ace
Thank you , From a Interview I watched, Brian gave up on SMILE. It was because he said >>>> "The Beatles already did it" The song was St Pepper.
The song was actually Strawberry Fields Forever, he was with Mike Vosse
I really love this version, even more than the original. Thank you man!
this should've been included in the box set!
I like this version in a different way then I do the original. But there was an intent in it being titled Look/Song for Children, and it distracts away from it's original concept.
I definitely think of it as look (song for children) yeah
This is musical insanity and sublime. Love it. Please do remaster it professionally. Also, it'd be great if you fly the flutes from Second Day into Love to Say Dada.
Astonishing. This is absolutely superb.
I love it the more I listen to it
An excellent mix of what I consider to be one of the greatest songs ever written. The inclusion of Heroes and Villains, Vega-Tables, and Wonderful are all rather ingenious, the addition of the drums as they were on the alternate take is really cool, and the overall mix and balance bring out what makes this song great. Absolutely fantastic job.
OK, YOU'RE A GENIUS!
I'd like to think that if Smile had been released back then, it would have sounded like this.
Really good, you did a better job of syncing up the 'child' vocals than whoever did the official release! (That really pissed me off, Barnyard was done so well, why was Look so sloppy?) I possibly agree with theSuperMetroid02 in that it's very busy, but then again most of the Smile tracks are immensely busy, thereby justifying a Sessions box set in the 1st place: there's so much going on at once, yet it all works. So in that sense, you've been pretty consistent - great job, well done! Any more??
dog, i hope they don't remix the hell out of all the beach boys catalogue like what happened to viva elvis and immortal (michael jackson). that would suck.
sounds great!
There's a bootleg session where Brian can be heard faintly in the control room voicing a melody which I think sounds like what a vocal lead line might have been along the lines of. Doo too do too doo... I like this version but it doesn't incorporate the melody from the control room ;) The little snippet also can't be found anywhere on the box set sadly.
where can that be heard? would love to check it out
There was a snippet of the 'Do You Like Worms?' vocal from the control room too. Seems like the lyrics were going to be the same as the 2004 release; "Once upon the sandwich isles...", though it was much faster and in a falsetto.
@@topsyandpip56 Where is this? I have never found any control room snippets from either Look or Do You Like Worms? I know the first one exists, but I thought it was lost, so how did VirtualVince hear it?
Very interesting work. Look is probably the most under-appreciated track on SMiLE, and I've always felt if you could somehow recreate the lyrics from BWPS but with the old Beach Boys voices, it'd be perfect. One little bit of constructive criticism tho, is I think you might've added a little too much in there. This version sounds amazing, but busy. Excellent job tho
Lol, this comment aged so well. I'm not sure how deep into the Beach Boys you might be now (considering this is an 11 year old comment), but check out Dae Lims Presents SMiLE if you haven't!
You are fucking Brian Wilson.
I think if brian heard this stuff he would SMiLE
Fantastic.
Terrific work. This is the best mix I've ever heard of this track.
I love how you put in the vocal from Good Vibrations in the chorus that part of Look is totally from Good Vibrations (whether it was conscious or not) but I always felt the vocal belonged there, too
