I'm 2 weeks late to the party but according to vol 13 the author said that L was planning to test the Kira Task Force members the same way he tested Light by showing photographs of the dying messages that secretly spelled "L do you know Gods of death love apples". But after speaking to the task force members one on one L concluded that they were too dumb to be Kira, and thats why afterwards in the story, L mentions he didnt feel the need to test them anymore lmao

I think the problem is that the modern conservative is torturously aware of all the problems in society. They want art to be escapism, but, since art so often reflects reality, they can’t hope but notice “what” the art is trying to say, and it reminds them of all the problems of the modern world and they retract themselves into their shell. They long for that simpler time, not when art wasn’t “woke” but when they were blissfully unaware of the social issues that inspired their favorite childhood programs.

if i was, with all my knowledge of the death note franchise, trying to catch kira, i would make sure the pencil lead in his door was replaced. if all of his booby traps were in place, he wouldn't be alerted to the cameras and microphones (unless ryuk helps him.) i would record him using the death note and then, once more entering his house, confiscate it and arrest him as soon as possible. and then i would make sure soichiro yagami doesn't have access to a gun and his son alone at the same time, given that L's prediction about his reaction if his son were to be arrested as kira (murdering light and then himself) may still stand

All you really need to do is tell Raye to wear a wire + hidden camera before his death and you'll hear Light threatening him in the station, plus Raye's final moments reaching for him in the train station.

Nah all you gotta do is follow Raye Penber around after the bus incident. Light reveals himself in person and proves his identity as Kira by killing a bystander in the subway. Just stun gun Light in the back, let Raye arrest him, and recover the pages from the train. With Raye's testimony, the papers in the train, and the scraps of the death note Light has on him, you can easily prove he's Kira. Then before the police get a warrant to search the Yagami house, you break in and steal the Death Note to make sure the cops don't accidentally incinerate it and it doesn't fall in the wrong hands. After that the real plan can be put into motion. You make Light confess his crimes and kill himself, leaving the case solved, but not fully resolved for the public. You take the death note to a meet and greet with Misa Misa, convince her you are the real Kira, seduce her, get married, and live happily ever after.

The thing is, if light was around today he would be caught in about a week. Security cameras everywhere in the world now and people would be dedicated to finding him.

I think this'd be easy of you just copied L, but without directly challenging Light. My plan would be: I'd set up a fake Kanto-only news report about a dangerous criminal ring that have all been identified and are believed to be hiding in Japan. They're all death row inmates of course, with the additional catches that they're all being held in different countries and one of the criminals whose face is shown is given the name of another death row inmate. If Light takes the bait, I'd call Interpol and confirm to the japanese police all the deaths aside from the fake name one, which would also confirm everything that the Lind L. Taylor broadcast did, but without revealing myself. Then I'd request another Kanto-only fake broadcast showing that the all members of the criminal ring died. Around that time in the original story L already suspects that Kira is a student with access to police information, so next up I'd go pretty hard on this deduction (I also wouldn't involve the FBI here, so Raye is safe). My next trap would be to add a bunch of criminals to the database/documents members of the police have access to, with a 50/50 split of real names and fake ones. If Light takes the bait again and is getting info from just documents stored in Soichiro's computer, rather accessing some kind of online database, it's pretty much over for him (since I could create a unique list for every suspects' house in that case). But even if it's the latter it could still give enough credit to my hypothesis that Kira is one of three students with a parent on the police force. Hopefully this would all be enough to convince the police to search the suspects' houses, and I'd also have to convince them to let me be the one searching Light's room, to bypass the drawer trap. If I could get that, then it's over.

Most of these videos are completely incorrect. The reason why Kira case was solved was because of the use of the Death Note itself involving several people. Columbo can't solve it because he doesn't believe in magic. Any detective who doesn't believe in magic is dead.

Okay so the Warehouse Scene pretty much boils down to 2 things: 1. Convincing the Police Task Force that the 13 Day Rule was fake. 2. Takada's death being used as proof because Mikami pretty much doubled down that Kira was related. I don't think I have the mental capacity to engage light in the warehouse because I still have trouble following what even happened, but the thing I'd do is 2 weeks prior to the confrontation I write Takada and Mikami's names in the Notebook and set their deaths to like an hour before the meeting. Once their bodies are on the floor I reveal that I killed them 2 weeks ago and that the 13 day rule was fake because I killed them 14 days ago. By this point the safe deposit box with the fake notebook was still being written in and I have pretty much all the proof I need to convict. That's the best I got for trying to pull off a warehouse gambit. Being ENTIRELY honest, the easiest way to finish this is to work with Near and Mello and explain that the 13 Day rule was fake from the start and to arrest Takada and Mikami before anything got out of hand.

When you say youtube comment section all i can imagine is just this conglomerate of people running around like a pack of wolves. Imagine being one of light family members and you just see over 100 people breaking into your home and rushing upstrairs to your sons room, better yet misa cant get us all, she cant write that fast we all can jump her. Like imagining being in the police task force thinking L is gonna show up and suddenly seemingly random people start POURING IN, just taking ALL the space, the door not even able to close anymore as you hear the consting ding of the elevator opening and closing only to reveal even MORE people like thats hilarious

Calling it now, 4Chan would publicly troll Kira to the point that Light goes batshit and tries going after them, only to realize they're all anonymous and even the Shinigami Eyes deal wouldn't help him here. They would annihilate him and taunt him every step of the way until one of them posts a detailed dossier on him, doxxing him and revealing everything he's ever done and how, even somehow proving Ryuk's existence via a video of floating apples getting eaten.

Now could the average person solve the Kira case without getting someone killed? So no Lind L Taylor/Ray death, I think in my case I would try to "install the cameras" while recording everything with a camera and take the Death Note, so I can see Ryuk and Plan A: Try to bribe him with apples and try to make up a new fake rule, something like "The Shinigami King now put a new rule and it's that if you don't write a name after 2 days you'll die, and the new only way to avoid death is confessing to those who brought you to life" (Sounds like this to try to imitate the mystical aura of the Death Note), so Light will probably go crazy and not wanting to die will confess, now subroute Plan A-2 if Light doesn't confess, maybe you could bribe Ryuk again to stay with you 24/7, so Light doesn't know what happened, now with Ryuk in my side as a witness I would give the Death Note to the task force explaining that once I got the notebook for some seconds I was able to talk with the Shinigami and I bribed him with apples for information, Ryuk testifies against Light and the Death Note with all the names plus the camera footage makes it clear that Light was Kira, now, Plan B, what happens if you can't bribe Ryuk because idk Light gives him more apples, I doubt Ryuk will reject apples so I would start to do the same thing of throwing apples to him, and bring him to "hang out" with some friends (Task force), I ask everyone to touch the notebook so they can see why the apple starts to levitate, now maybe you could try to bring Ryuk as a witness but the rest is the same, give the Death Note, give the camera footage, and Ryuk's existence proves that something magical was the power of Kira, idk if I missed something, I hope not, anyway, excelente video I really liked it :3

The death note manga has sold 30 million copies in Japan, meaning the average person in Japan has read death note 1/4 of a time (population ~120 million). 1/4 of death note is definitely enough spoilers to go off of, I think.

Thanks. I've been so scared, so anxious that even watching the videos that try to reassure me like this one nearly makes me sick to my stomach thinking about what the world will be in 4 years. "Will there even be a world I can grow old in?" is a question I've asked myself for a long time, but especially now So hearing someone, even a stranger online, tell me that the world is better with me in it than without, and the reminder that cynicism that nothing can change is what brought us here to begin with... If you intended to keep the deaths of the FBI agents to get the KTF, you'd have one major thing on your side: if you can convince the FBI that Kira was the one who killed them, they'd give you unlimited resources to catch or kill Kira. If there's one thing that other countries don't quite grasp, it's the "brotherhood" of LE officers in the US. One of them gets killed? They're hunting the perp to the ends of the earth either to be in cuffs or be 6 feet under with a lot of holes. Hell, if they served in the military, their brothers in arms would be gung-ho for some street justice as well. Use that. Especially if they have specialized skills like EOD or Marksmanship.
