Hi Kiran, First of all thank you very much for the detailed explanation on the in place activity of the version upgrade. Sharing such info on the public platforms really matters to the people who are less on resource, but can you please let me know if i have to upgrade to 2022 then what all steps are required here? As in my project they have the requirement to do the in place of 2012 to 2022. Thank you in advance! Thanks Rishi.

Video is fine, but the MOST IMPORTANT information is missing in every videos and answers. The migration is done easily if there would also be the info that "Start-AzureRMVM" doesn't work anymore. You have to use command "Start-AzVM" instead "Start-AzureRMVM".
It was a great effort given i can imagine! but lexical coherence is a bit complicated in terms of the separate process shown in the video. Anyway, a lot to learn from it. All the best. Subscribed!!

I am facing error while doing this-- PS /home/amit> Set-AzDiskImageReference -Disk $diskConfig -Id $image.Id -Lun 0 Set-AzDiskImageReference: Cannot bind argument to parameter 'Disk' because it is null.

Thank you for your video, very helpful. One question plz. If we have critical vm we cannot delete backup because application owner can ask us to restore from a old backup :-). But can we do for exemple, several snapshot ? for exemple 1 snaphot per month during 3 month and then after move the server. After move of the server to an other RG, it will still be possible to use those snapshot without impact ? Thank in advance.
Yes, you can indeed create snapshots of your Azure VM disks at regular intervals to retain multiple points in time for potential restores. Snapshots are point-in-time copies of the disks, capturing the state of the disk at the moment the snapshot is taken. These snapshots can be retained for as long as necessary and can be used to create new disks or restore existing disks. After moving the server to another resource group (RG) or subscription, the snapshots associated with the VM disks remain accessible. Moving the VM does not impact the snapshots because they are associated with the underlying disks, not the VM itself.

Do u have any video for HA deployment in Active Standby in Azure without ARM Template deployment, it seems to be complicated process, Able to build HA with single interface, means 1 MGMT and other for Self IP, but VIP's IP's are unreachable from MGMT ip and other N/W's. It seems Virtual IP need to move to Active LB using CFE which is bit confusing process and not working for me.

Hello, after adding and changing the MAC address, how can I open an application at that MAC address?
some of application license bind with MAC address, if suppose your migrating applications from on-prem to azure. that application license bind with MAC address, if you want use same license in azure also you should bring that same MAC address into azure. if your not bring same MAC address, that license won't work. I hope you understand importance.

In that case you can opt for cancellation of reservation.
you cannott downgrade on RI's rather you upgrade or you cancel

yes. once activity completed, you can delete the basic load balancer.
Why can’t we just take snapshot of vm and creating new disk and using the same disk we can create a new VM witha whatever the name we want.. but not sure in this video before doing this stuff name changed from OS level.. can you clarify.. Thanks…
Not required to change in OS level. directly can perform take snapshot and create new disks then using new disks deploy the VM.
