Davod thanks for the review. I'm on the hunt for "budget" movers and it looks like Colorkey is one that has some backing behind their name
Thnks very much, we could not find MyDMX5 tutorial any where , ADJ did bad job there not even 1 video out there .
We have them in Learn Stage Lighting Labs: www.learnstagelighting.com/labs-sp
Can you open your last saved file from 3.0? And bring it to here ?
hey David, quite a shiner you got there. I hope the other guy gets out of the hospital soon!
I bet it was one of his toddlers
Can you delete presets or live edits?
Hello Can you please send me some interesting presets you have created?
worked for years with DMX3 never any problems 😂😂😂
I like this light because of how thin is. I’m looking to use them in my church main light for the altar. My sealing is not high enough for a bigger light and that way I don’t have issues with the projector image in the background be a lot brighter that the pastor. Do you think this lights can be used for that purpose? Thanks
This is not going to be a great light for that, but we have other options. Send us some info/photos of your space if you're in the US, and we can take a look and help you get what you need at gear@aboveavl.com
I'm researching, trying to determine the settings for this system; particularly, the audio response and how slow can you control the changing? Solo, singer, and songwriter looking to create ambiance and compliment the song changes with subtle changes synchronized to slow changes. Direction to a different in-depth video would be helpful also. I've seen what I'm trying to accomplish in a club setting and it was very minimal with four par can bars; almost unnoticeable, yet highly, and memorably impactful. Thanks!
You probably want to look at a controller like the MaestroDMX, built-in sound active modes are not going to do what you desire
could you tell where to buy this. link does not show
We are no longer offering this product, now we'd recommend this one: aboveavl.com/products/stealth-beam?_pos=1&_psq=stealth+beam&_ss=e&_v=1.0
Just bought two and I’m pumped
Awesome, next time reach out to us, we'd love to become your place to buy all of your lighting and audio gear! - aboveavl.com/
What haze fluid are you useing?
This is a Elation Magmatic Prime with their Fluid (AEF-4L)
What about dimmers where you can park the dimmer as None-Dimmable?
No, it still goes through the dimming circuit and is not equal to wall power. It will damage your fixtures over time.
Curious what you would use to hang a low weight fixture sideways on the vertical section of the Chauvet DJ Flex Stand? A standard 2" clamp works for the base section but I haven't found anything that fits the tapered higher section. Thanks
There are some trigger clamps or "gripper"/pro clamps that have a little more adjustment in them, and I think that would work: aboveavl.com/products/quick-rig-clamp-blk-black?_pos=32&_sid=6838ee2e4&_ss=r
This looks like a very useful little light! Do you think it would work as a front light for a band stage in a small bar? Or do you have a recommendation for an affordable front light that would work well with a 12 foot mounting height towards a ~14 stage?
We do these a lot: aboveavl.com/products/mod-stq?_pos=1&_psq=mod+stq&_ss=e&_v=1.0 - email us at gear@learnstagelighting.com for a quote!
Love myDMX5. We've been using myDMX3 since it came out. We jumped on this latest one in May 2024 using a dedicated MacBook Pro with 2 midi controllers. My 15 year old son picked it up very quickly coming from myDMX3 and he has created numerous programs and troubleshooting. GREAT REVIEW!
I bought four of these and I’m let down by the tilt. They advertise 270 and that’s false. Maybe 210, called their service department and was basically ignored.
I hate your voice btw...
I’m having some issues with my mighty MX five would anybody be willing to take a call and answer some questions?

I ran into limitation almost immediately with the ADJ wolfmix...not useless by any means, but def limited for what I would like...how would you compare this product/system as far as design limitation esp for live band, small act that would like to stand out in a crowd of small acts with better live production...?
And CMY 300 is discontinued. Figures. You buy a few lights and they say they are not going away any time soon so you save up to buy more and poof discontinued!
It’s one of those things with the cheap lighting companies, However, I would imagine ADJ would still be quite helpful with spare parts and whatnot. They have made quite an effort to be more pro.
We just ordered one. Usually use Martin M6 for live shows, but for small stuff or when the sound guy needs to also do lights on the side we think this is perfect.
Great video! Question, do you know if the WMX1 is compatible with ADJ WiFly equipped moving head lights?
It does not have wireless built in, so you would need a Wifly Transmitter, which will work with the WMX1, yes :)
What apps are you using to configure it?
how long will fluid last in one of these at 100%?
40 minutes at 100% - grab yours here: aboveavl.com/products/crisp-max-snow-machine?_pos=1&_psq=crisp+max&_ss=e&_v=1.0
will this work to just play a show on loop? dmx and audio loop for a setup?
I need more than 16 faders on EMU Vst, there is a way to use more?
Hey mate, I absolutely appreciate your effort and knowledge you put into this and share with us. But your way of hurrying through it is smth you really could improve, or better slow down and check if your screen is really showing what you present. All slower, first say what you want to show/ what problem you want to discuss, then repeat it slowly on the screen and check that no screen overlay is blocking the GUI of the software. Always keep in mind: first audio message, then video action. Never at the same time. Then it’s even easier for us non native speakers to follow you despite your strong but absolute interesting dialect. :) where is it from? Thx a lot! I subscribe and I’m looking forward to the next episode. Greetings from Germany!
Hi, are the back lights bright enough to use as a wall wash? I'm looking at a deal on some W models and don't think I'd have much use for the white for most applications, but these look like they might work great if those back lights are bright enough to use for wall washes.
I would not use them as a wall wash, they would be very "stripey". Reach out to us at gear@aboveavl.com and we can help you find the best fit for your needs and quote it out!
I've been using the mk1 at a 250 cap venue for the last two years. I also run sound at this venue. It's a lovely little controller. You can get ALOT of different effects out it by just changing the phase timing for the effect. Since it's so simple you can really focus on what the band is doing and be a part of the show.
I'm also looking to know how long the ice lasts. also, what's the volume of the juice container, and how long does continuous run before it stops and has to warm up? i thought it would actually run continuously until it ran out of fluid, but sounds like you're saying that's not the case
С таким количеством диодов. Картинка просто отстой полный
Hi sir I need more
Great Video! - Can you tell if the Stand Alone Unit is able to receive Midinotes to trigger the Scences directly from the SD-Card without running MyDMX5 in Background? And if not is the WMX1 MKII capable? - Have posted that Question to ADJ, but no answer...
I wish someone would do a tutorial with an actual lighting rig not just 4 or 5 lights they hung on a piece of truss. I am having the hardest time with busking all my different scenes. The colors all get blended into all the other scenes and then I can’t get anything to work. And then I can’t even get the lights to turn off or they won’t turn on.
I hate product videos where they just talk and show you nothing. I have a D-Fi XLR RT and a Chauevet ILS Command. It is claimed everywhere how easy it is to connect GigBar 2 (without ILS) to these products. It doesn't work and it doesn't work. What do I need to set up on the GigBar 2? I have slave mod. I'm already desperate. Thanks for the advice.
Exactly!!
Are these good to support a video live stream and give a general stage wash? A bi-color would do, but having color gives more options. Remote control is needed to transition between single speaker and panel layouts sometimes.
Yes, at distances from about 12-20' these can be a great choice. Shoot us an email and let us know more about your stage and we can see if that Mac One is a good fit for you: gear@aboveavl.com
Is it common for these to show a green light that they are charged but not power on? My transmitter and the extra rx I bought show fully charged but won’t power on right out of the box.
I did all of this and the input only shows up in the top left quarter of the screen. It’s not cut off at all or anything it just doesn’t fill the whole screen. Did I do something wrong? Can someone help?
How loud does it seem?
Anybody have any idea how to trigger the self cleaning function?
It goes periodically, I believe, and definitely runs when DMX signal is lost. It only takes about 3 seconds, so it is easy to miss.
does it have automation options?
kinda. you can make presets, set duration time for every preset and have them play in a sequence.
I started in the 90s with High End Systems dedicated controllers. Our Disco included, Intellabeams, Trackspots, Color Pros and Technobeams. 4 different lighting fixtures with there own controllers. Programing was time consuming and cumbersome. This controller would have been a dream come true. The fact that everything latches is so perfect for programming and performance. I am a musician and launch pads have become the norm, so this has me intrigued.
Hi, how to set screen sleep mode
Did you ever get the stock timer to work? Having no luck on the timer setting on my machine, and waiting from a response from ADJ if I'm doing something wrong.
Can you use dry ice instead of regular ice?
Yeah it's actually meant for use with dry ice.
Yes, you could use dry ice or regular ice I did my research about it
@@Shrapnel_Warningwill it give it a better effect with the dry ice?
@@thewrestlingdiaries9142 yeah the fog hangs to the ground a lot better with dry ice loaded in.
