General Network Access (GNA) is a way for power generators and consumers to access the inter-state transmission system (ISTS) without having to worry about the specific route that the power will take. This is in contrast to the current system, where generators and consumers have to negotiate point-to-point access agreements. Here is a simple analogy to help you understand GNA: Imagine that you are a farmer who grows apples. You want to sell your apples to consumers all over the country. In the past, you had to find a buyer for each apple and arrange for the apple to be transported to the buyer. This was a time-consuming and expensive process. With GNA, you can simply put your apples in a warehouse and let the transportation company take care of the rest. The transportation company will pick up your apples from the warehouse and deliver them to consumers all over the country. You don't need to worry about how the apples are transported or where they are delivered. GNA works in a similar way for electricity. Power generators can simply supply electricity to the grid and let the grid operator take care of the rest. The grid operator will transmit the electricity to consumers all over the country. Generators don't need to worry about how the electricity is transmitted or where it is consumed. GNA is a new and innovative way to transmit electricity. It has the potential to make electricity more affordable and accessible for everyone.
