Aww, you forgot about the LMS "Princess Coronation" Pacifics (ie. LMS "6220" "Coronation"), and LNER A4's: British Railways "60008" (LNER "4496" / LNER "8") "Dwight D. Eisenhower" and LNER "4489" (British Railways "60010" / LNER "10") "Dominion of Canada", which were (in 2012/3?) shipped back to England for restoration work before being shipped back to the US and Canada respectively. The LMS loco "Duchess of Hamilton" masqueraded as "Coronation" for a visit to the US, as 6220 "Coronation" was unable to make the trip. Brilliant video all the same, many thanks. Nothing is cheaper and lighter than helium or hydrogen. i.e. use a vacuum. Likely need 3 layers of reducing pressure before the 0.06 atm boxes. High winds still a problem, if you're bothered about the exact destination?

The Germans had been builded the best airships in the world and it was America's fault that this era ended. Out of envy, they refused the agreed delivery of helium to Germany, which would have brought aviation to a much longer-term level. (What an irony that the US Navy airship featured in this post was also built in Germany!)

Style at it's highest, designers had free way to create beautiful stuff. The stylish exterior was as important as the machine beneath.

Something is off with these photos. the progress they make on the Mines building from Nov to Jan is a miracle considering all the snow on the ground. i mean moving around the job site had to be impossible in the thick snow up to your knees. i dont see it. And of course we see no workers anywhere really in any of the photos. A couple of token workers here and there but other than just like all the photos of major cities with no people anywhere to found. Where are all the workers?

All large Airships crashed within a few years or where grounded and scrapped. The only exception is LZ-127 Graf Zeppelin that flew in regular service for 9 years. It was grounded after the Hindenburg disaster. In the video we can identify the German Zeppelins like LZ-127 Graf Zeppelin and LZ-129 Hindenburg. The British airships R33, R100 and R101. The US-Navy had 5 large Airships between WWI and WWII. 4 of them crashed. ZR-1 USS Shenandoah crashed in 1925 - structual damage ZR-2 The British build R38 crashed even before the official US Navy acceptance during early tests ZR-3 The German build LZ-126 USS Los Angeles survived but wasn't used a lot. It was decommissioned and scrapped. ZRS-4 USS Akron was lost in a storm in 1933 after 2 years of service ZRS-5 USS Macon crashed 1935 because of structual failure after 2 years of service. The history of large airships is interesting but full of disasters and accidents. It wasn't the hydrogen and fire that brought most of them down. The main problem is that the large and light structures are difficult to control and they are extremely dangerous in bad weather. At the end, it was obvious that continuous use of large airships would result in a survival rate of probably 10% after 10 years. Not a good idea.

The whole concept of humanity going through a technological development arc over time is a false assumption. The technology has always existed and the people in control have been releasing it incrementally. It is right to assume that air ships like this were deliberately given bad publicity because they were successfully used in the previous time before the reset.
