Personally I think only idiots buy bumpstocks. There is no practical purpose for it. There will be a day we lose our 2A right and the bump stock is nothing more than ammo for the people who want to take guns away.

Thank you for illustrating the resistance in trying to close while it’s cocked. This was the clearest demonstration I saw of that in any of the reviews. The manual has a warning about it firing if closed while cocked and it had me worried, though it looks like it would be really difficult to do on accident.

Two IMO from me and many may find it worthless information. First, for many years I used the 30-06 and loved it. I've had a couple of them through the years, but never a Remington. However, many friends of mine did have the older Remington 700 and I felt that they were fantastic deer rifles even though I preferred the Winchester Model 70. However, once I found myself in the Marines (70-76), my appreciation for the .308 grew considerably. This was especially true when on the rifle range with the M-14. I witnessed the results when shooting 200, 300, and 500 yds. I remained with the 30-06 for quite a while before eventually letting my son have it and I went with the .308. I have never regretted it. Secondly, I am, as one would guess, an old man with old school ideas, and for some reason, I prefer the standard wooden stocks on my rifles. Although I do have a couple of polymer stock rifles, they are both low recoil rifles (7.62x39 and 22-250). Even though the wood stocks are heavier, it's just the feel of the rifle that, to me, makes all the difference in the world.

Two years later how many shells down range ? Any wear of concern ? Does it cycle cheap birdshot bulk packs from Walmart like Federal #8 1200 FPS or Estate #7-1/2 1290 FPS after break in.... and is it reliable in shooting 3" shell now ? I appreciate your time spent in responding, thanks

Normally I like a lot of items. Because then there's a good chance I'll like some of them and the problem with one item is maybe that person doesn't have anything that will work with it. That being said, I like the two items that are offered
