I played the arcade version of BB for the first time before watching this video. I played the Spectrum and Master system versions 30 years ago but didn't appreciate them fully at the...I mistook it for an overly simplistic game. Sad, as the SMS version has more Easter eggs and levels than the arcade. We used to call BB/Rainbow 'cutesey games'. There are so many adornments and tricks to playing this game well. The developers had a perfectionistic approach 'Simple yet deceptively complex'; very Japanese.

'TAK' refers to tako, meaning octopus in Japanese. The crosses are fried octopus tentacles.

This level made me realise that this game is too frustrating. Such a shame that a bad level design can ruin a game.

Well, it’s really pity, that Axel loose his voice, he was one of the greatest stars back in the 80s… But today we have a lot of new technology and techniques… like autotune or playback etc., I don’t understand why he’s not using something of that… would be much better for everyone.
