Manure Injection in Alfalfa and Grass Experiences in New York
Просмотров 1,2 тыс.6 лет назад
Compared to surface application of manure, injection reduces the likelihood that manure nutrients will be lost to air and water resources. In some cropping situations, conserved manure nitrogen can offset the need for application of additional nitrogen later in the season, offering the potential for a win-win situation for farm profits and resource conservation. In this video, Dr. Quirine Kette...
Manure to Energy 1920 x 1080+

Published on Mar 18, 2016 by TheDownstreamProject: Manure-to-energy systems on farms can deliver a number of economic benefits for farmers. They can also increase the amount of renewable energy in the United States and, if handled correctly, protect streams and rivers from the polluting effects of surplus nutrients. Injecting dairy manure with a draghose VTI Manure Injector
Просмотров 2,7 тыс.7 лет назад
In this video taken by Josh Thompson with the Sassafras River Association, you can see how McMichael Custom Spreading uses a draghose and a VTI manure injector system to place dairy manure below the soil surface. This approach can reduce nutrient losses to air and water by as much as 90 percent compared to surface application.
This is really cool, I'd love to chat with yall about cost and setup for my combine. It's an s680
We absolutely can talk. You by chance don't have a LinkedIn account do you?
I love this idea. Thank you for sharing. Keep up the good work!
Thanks!
Seeing Mary Michael in this video made me SO happy!!! I had the honor of going through the Horticulture department at VT at the same time as her, and she is an INCREDIBLE woman! She is so insanely smart, beyond kind and compassionate, but the thing that always stuck out to me most was how hard working she was. Her work ethic is unmatched, which explains why she is where she is today and were she'll go. Mark my words Mary Michael is going to be someone with the places she's going, I'm always honored to call you a friend! Davis M
Davis, it is such an honor calling you a friend
please show the unit
She is beautiful
Great idea turn into an even greater video!
Thanks! I had nothing to do with the quality of the video lol. Two very awesome professionals made magic😅
That's actually genius. Sadly my massey has a different system, but this should actually be an option on modern combines now, patent it, sell it.
We can make them for any make or model. I'm building one now for a gleaner L2. If it is something you would like to investigate the possibilities I would be happy to PM with you.
@@aaronblack9347 I would be interested in one to fit a New Holland CR model.
@stevewilliams-v1z I would absolutely like to talk to you about it. You wouldn't happen to have LinkedIn to connect, would you?
@@aaronblack9347 Id love to know about one for a JD 9670
@@brooksbunn6114 I would love to speak with you about it. We have that package available. Would you happen to have LinkedIn?
Awesome idea! How big is the seed box?
Each model we build is different, currently building them for case, gleaner and jd machines. The newest one for this machine is 1200lbs, what in this video was the older test bed it was 1000.
What is the cost?
@user-ml1xt5xy1i that depends on a couple factors. We have an "analog" and a "digital" version and what machine it's going on. I am available for P.M. If you would like more information. We like these systems to pay for themselves in one season.
@@user-ml1xt5xy1i That depends on a couple of factors. Make and model of machine and if it is the "analog" or "digital" version we offer. We aim to keep ROI in one season. I would be happy to P.M. with you to gain a little more information.
@@user-ml1xt5xy1i Do you have LinkedIn to be able to connect and talk more about what you have?
Fantastic idea. Reducing input cost and increasing green cover. Those living roots in the ground are so important for soil health
Now do multiple species cover crops to get more benefits for soil life and decreased inputs next year
Do check out Gabe Brown he might be a good start into the regenerative agriculture scene
We have been running multi species mixes for several years now. That's definitely where we prefer to be!
@@TheNightwalker247 ill look him up, thanks!
Smart, gentlemen. A great way to further improve an idea.
Thank you sir!
Now that’s pretty slick.
Thank you sir, the whole thing has ment a ton to us.
Awesome! This is fantastic!
Thanks, apparently it!
Great to see these farmers saving money and the environment
