great looking Cat. my main target animal is bobcats but its very rare I do dispatch them as I've noticed a drop in the cat population here in swva. I caught 8 last yr only to dispatch one large male and very rarely ever a female unless it has became a problem to landowners

Awesome. I really have great success on 'cats in the national forest where I trap (Pulaski Co.) and the big ridges that are adjacent to a logging road are dynamite for 'cats. Everytime I find an area thick with turkey, the 'cats are usually hanging around. Haven't seen any reds in a long time. Some greys, but the coyotes have the reds pushed more towards your way I think. There are some reds here, but not many in the mountains unless there is a lot of open farm/fields near or around the area. I been meaning to come by Blue Ridge and see ya. Have you checked out the Bland Co. trapping rendezvous? It's a small get together they have every year. Hope you had an awesome season. Can't wait till November to get some steel in the ground and around some fur. Looking to wear the cats and coyotes out. Coyote numbers are really up. Hope to thin some out. Great video. Finally found a VA trapper. Lol. Like your channel so far. I subscribed to ya, really informative. I am new to trapping. I have noticed a huge drop in deer and turkey numbers in the area I deer and turkey hunt in Jefferson National Forest, the Pulaski County stretch. I am going to take up trapping to try and get rid of the bobcat and coyote that are in the area but I don't know a whole heck of a lot about either of them. I guess what I'm asking, is where should I begin to look for coyote and bobcat in the mountains? I've heard bobcats use logging roads and prey on turkey and rabbits. I don't know anything about coyote. After almost 20 years hunting Jefferson National Forest, I seen my first coyote in the wild this year deer hunting. I seen a decent cat the year before. Should I scout for coyote/bobcat in the area I saw them? I'm going to be the first trapper in my family, which is tough cause nobody can show/teach me this awesome tradition. Lol. I figured you would be the guy to ask about trapping yotes and cats here in VA. Clint Locklear mentioned you on one of his trapping radio shows and said you were the go to guy for the VA area. Any kind of advice would be awesome. I feel like a dummy. Lol. Great Video
