    The sequences and concept "statistics" are important. Glad you are keeping that. I'd like to suggest to keep the weight class one as games and sequences can very depending on weight class.

    Starts out with b.s. about immobilization, and pinning using 2 surfaces; the floor and the body. FALSE. standing armlocks, Estima lock, Aoki, Even RNC, back mount, submitting from guard (which Greg the charleton would describe using a small paragraph) etc. Attachment is a better way to describe immobilizing. "Camping" is more than sufficient for an expert or beginner, everyone has an idea of what that means, as opposed to saying 'Immobilize the line of demarcation at the base level of the corporeal form of the opponent being midway between lateral and parallel' F*&K outta hear. When is a host going to push back on this pseudo-intellectual. To learn Jits, DO JITS. To learn FASTER, skip the 'figuring it out' time, and use the lessons learned over the hundred plus years bjj has been around. In other words HAVE an experienced practitioner teach you directly. There is an idiom, in teaching that if you cannot explain it simply...you don't understand it well enough. I've seen Greg's type so many times; like when a 19 y/old reads a science book or becomes vegan and now is an expert. Greg- You are not reinventing the wheel, but moreover, You will never be Danaher. Your blathering to impress young bjj fans only betrays the fact that you suffer from 'Jordan Peterson Syndrome" TALK 10 MILES TO GO 3 FEET. Your Self-unawareness reveals your true intellect. Quit taking advantage of my Autistic friends! The thing I have learned in jiu jitsu is that there are nearly Zero invariants...You learn fundamental rules like don't cross your feet while in back mount, but it isn't always true. Learning alot, comes in stages, and you can navigate them quicker if someone helps you. Chris Hauter says (not true of false, just an thought exp.) you can put 5 guys on an island and have them grapple for 100 years, they alone will not discover all of what we know in jiu jitsu. In fact, before UFC 1, This was how the world was...all the fighters of the world "discovering" for themselves the best way to fight, few figured jiu jitsu out, we all have learned from them....INCLUDING Greg himself. Accumulated knowledge is so helpful. Sorry, No Greg Cult for me.

    Amazing interview with Greg as you ask informed questions and allow him to speak. In regard to Jozef’s tripod passing, Jozef said he developed it as a way of countering guard players trying to get inside position to get to leg entanglements. As the passer, he wanted to stay on his feet and be more mobile than if he dropped to his knees.

    Hands down, my favorite interview with Greg so far Massive props to Greg, I think he has become way more articulate and less combative. To me, it is a massive development. I know Greg welcomes criticism, hopefully he will be getting more intelligent criticism then most of what I've seen up till now. Equally important, I felt you guys asked great questions so Greg could explain his methods specifically rather then get sidetracked justifying them. Great stuff

    At around min 48 talking about precursors for breaking mechanics, attach, seperate, rotate or straiten. With leglocks, we can cross legs, so we don't necessarily need to separate, right?

    • @thos1618
      @thos1618 Месяц назад

      You can also Armlock by crossing the arms. Look at how Gordon breaks the grip by pulling the far arm to him. Positions like the the Top-Lock or Dead-Orchard also often bring the arms across one another, and the hyperextension opportunities are right there all the same.
