Maria Callas - Suicidio, La Gioconda - Original Sound
Maria Callas in Japan.. on her last concert with ORIGINAL SOUND from this concert.
Highs are still very beautiful!!! Middle is not good........ I love her❤❤
Qiando dice fra le tenebre fa venire ancora i brividi
❤
03.04.2024 Salvador from Brazil 🇧🇷 Tácio Esquivel.
1970's age?!
She was 50.
Amor eterno.
She sounds horrible. I don’t understand who pretend she was still great
Absurd exaggeration. The voice is not what it was, but there are great moments here.
Talvez Montserrat Caballe?😊

Poor woman😢
Her voice sounds pretty darn amazing here. Brava!!!!!!!
Yes, much better than O Mio Babino Caro which is the encore in this concert.
The chest register remains very impressive.
Wow! Even when her voice was past its prime, she reduces me to tears in an instant! Brava! There will never be another like her! Thank you, Maria! And, thanks to the person who uploaded this video! *sad smile * Susan
This was her London Concert in 1973! Next year she would have turned 100 and the 45th anniversary of her death just passed
Divina, eterna.......❤️
Even without the original voice, her control and musicality EXPLODE! I usually don't like to hear her late recordings but it always shows me how much of a teacher she became, actually. Were all flesh and bones and decay. It's not our fault. What is her "fault" is her incredible commitment to music, technique and quality. Brava!!! ❤
she should never had agreed to these concerts. Sometimes a second act is simply impossible. DiStefano persuaded her to do something that became an embarrassment. That does not detract in the least from her overall greatness, though and to all of us that love her, they are simply irrelevant. Furthermore, if you read some of the many interviews and books from people that were part of her entourage at that time, you appreciate her as a fragile human being who was desperately trying to return to the only thing she had ever truly relied on - her Art.
La perfezione. La migliore Gioconda di sempre.
Perfeita,olha a interpretação,o semblante e a voz desta mulher...
I hear so much feeling, as if she is relating the lyrics of the song to her farewell concert. As if her voice and her career were going to commit suicide. Maria, we love you...
She’s perfect😍
LA DIVINA !
Her voice unbearable to listen to, it swallowed and sharp. She lost her voice already in 1973
It's a shame they had to lower the key...
SPLENDIDE
I think she sounds great. Great acting as well.
How old was she here ?
i think 42
@@zimbiant2u 50!!!
Always superba
ETERNA PRIMA DONNA
Love it
This isn´t from Japan concert but London I guess
Modern sopranos anda mezzos should learn from here how to sing with chest voice
Yes. The only who does it well nowadays is Saioa Hernandez.

"It may be a wreck of a painting, yet it is the greatest painting in the world" Not many great ones remained at 1974. The Golden Era had already finished, rejoice to her prime memory and forgive this, even if you don't do so she shall remain one of humanity's greatest treasures.
People can say whatever they may but when Maria was “declining” she was still superior than many on the pick of their careers. This rendition of “Suicidio” shows her mastery of head and chest registers and artistry is demonstrated in her entire body/face/hand expressions. So sad she wasn’t understood. Some say she died of heart disease. I say she died of loneliness and depression.
I believe that she died from a broken heart; Onassis left her for Jackie Kennedy and when Onassis died she lost her will to live
She died from overuse of prescription pills, which Di Stefano has spoken about. Dont forget, this was the period when such unexpected "heart failures" were becoming more and more common. The drugs simply werent understood yet.
GODDESS!!!!!!!
The voice he started to die but the sheer deeply felt emotion is there in spades. Not only was Callas a totally unique and extremely gifted soprano she was also an exceptional actress and that why she stands out
She looks so meek and humble here, and at times scared and self-conscious.
Canta Maria Callas !!!
Is there any mortal being criticizing her here? What do they think, that she didn't know her limitiations when she was that age? She was a perfectionist, and she was PERFECT most of her earlier years, now we should excuse anything and just bow to her greatness.
Perfectly said, thank you
