Applications of supercapacitors
Hi everyone!
In this video let us understand the applications of supercapacitors. Supercapacitors have advantages in applications where a large amount of power is needed for a relatively short time, where a very high number of charge/discharge cycles or a longer lifetime is required.
Typical supercapacitor applications include:
• Transportation
Supercapacitors are used in electric vehicles, hybrid electric vehicles
• Renewable energy
Supercapacitors are used for backup power for actuators in wind turbine systems
• Electronics
Supercapacitors are used in laptop computers, GPS, portable media players, hand-held devices

    I am using DELL latitude e6530 it uses cylindrical battery cells of 5000 mah i want to upgrade it to use 20,000mah lithium cell batteries (like the one used in powerbanks) Is it advisable for me to take this approach?

    The explanation is wrng...during charging the cell acts as electrolytic cell so anode is not negative it is positive. The reactions at anode and cathode are correct though. So the diagram and explanation is wrong please do pin the changes as the information might be misleading for those who are preparing for an engineering exam like myself. Thank you!

      You are correct. charging = electrolytic cell; anode is positive. discharging = galvanic cell; anode is negative.

    Battery as a service is a dead. The problem lies in the fact that there is NO trust between Service Providers and the public. We've seen over and over, a company will sell a product that is dependent on a subscription or service, then the service will be cut off. For example: 3g service, online games, pc or phone support, the list goes on. Let's not talk about the ever changing terms of service. Therefore, using a battery as a service will automatically make the resale value of the vehicle shiiiiite. Which in turn means the vehicles will need to have a muuuuuuuch lower initial investment, enough so, that they can be trashed without much concern. I will admit that the first time this rolls onto the market it may work, people are naive, but it will only take 1 bad faith move from the battery service to collapse the market.
