Sonata No. 6 in G major is the most well-known of Platti’s Opus 3 flute sonatas. In this opening movement, the harmonic and rhythmic simplicity of the basso continuo allow the flute’s elaborate ornamentation to soar. This juxtaposition of stillness and movement creates a pastoral mood of expansive elegance.

Giga Giovanni Benedetto Platti (1697-1763) Buy or stream Platti: Flute Sonatas Op. 3 - leaf-music.lnk.to/lm224 Despite being full of imagination and originality, G.B. What beautiful flutist! I just found a movement of one Platti sonatas I had in one my folders ( i have so much music lol) and since I am not that good sight reading I looked for it here and I found this lovely video . I already listened to the whole recording in Amazon as I followed the music and I am so happy to find a new traverso player. I loved the album! Hoping for more recording and videos!
Why does it remind me of the middle ages?
3:48 Chaconne
beautiful and great!!!
Who made the flute? What is it a copy of? Pitch?
It is a 415 copy of a Palanca flute by Martin Wenner in boxwood!
@@alexaraine-wright5947 Thanks. That is seeming to become the default 1 key flute. How hard is it to get the flats in tune or the f naturals? Does an in tune f make the f sharps flat? It the high b in tune or does it require lots of fingers on the right hand to get the pitch up?
@@toddsterben6647 All Baroque flutes require the player to make adjustments in embouchure for such notes, which is part of the beauty of the instrument. There are some excellent method books out there for more info, such as those by Janice Dockendorff Boland and Elizabeth Walker.
Love your Platti recording - hope you get a chance to record the French side! (and wonderful to hear this piece not sounding flat)
