Do you think that video games were better back in the good old days? Does thinking of them always bring you back a lot of nice memories?
But would they be still so great even after 15, 20 or even more years? Would they really stand the test of time?
Let's find the answers in my RetroGaming Father's channel. I started playing more than 30 years ago and I am really nostalgic type. But sometimes it's better to have good memories stored deep inside your brain than getting dissapointed by obsolete game mechanics, clunky controls and terrible audiovisuals.
In my videos I will try to test good old games properly from several perspectives - ability to run on recent machines, audiovisuals shouldn't hurt your senses, user friendliness of controls, gameplay compared to modern standards and the availability of game mods that could improve the game itself or add some valuable content.
You can find gameplays, instructional videos and reviews of good old games here. Have a nice time watching!

I think I just got an idea of what the sequel would've looked like. He shot the two rulers with the Malevolator. Turning both of them into worse versions of themselves.
A interesting game
And also very good one :)
Drew didn't take advantage of the situation with the sexy hypnotized cat lady in a way that many guys probably would, if you know what I mean ;)
0:40 Mettaton?
Ok now I'm watching a cartoonish video game I've ever seen
That's true. But maybe there are some others yet in the archive. Will try to look for them :)
e621 here we goooooo
every stupid furry's dream!
the theme song 😊
Bingo! :)
Is there a DOS game encyclopedia, with all the games released on the system, while also covering MS-DOS? Amazon or anywhere?
It is on wikipedia. If you google "list of all DOS games". I am not sure if it really covers all DOS games though.
@RetroGamingFather-bb6qy I think a book would be cool too. Even if it isn’t official, I liked the N64 and GameCube Anthology books by Geeksline. They could have a picture of the games case art, along with what the disk drives look like, descriptions on what happens and how they play. Also a history of both the computer system and its impact on gaming. (I’m not saying it has to be done by Geeksline specifically, cool if someone made a well written book with the best presentation you can find.)
i was browsing some archived gaming magazines and did come across an ad for this game, but never looked into it. should've done that cuz that's a neat cat
Well, the whole game is great. And that sense of humor :) Unluckily, it is almost forgotten...
@@RetroGamingFather-hb6qv well thanks to you, now a good chunk of people know about it!
Great Scott! He was actually in this game??? 👀
What is this based on?
Anyone else hearing Torgo’s theme from Manos?
How have I never seen this before. Why does it have more than 1 similarity to son of the mask?
Well, this game is unfortunatelly almost forgotten. But it is really good adventure game with great sense of humor. And there are for sure more like this.
I like the cat lol
Got to be honest, I only clicked on the video because of that thumbnail...
@@kamikeserpentail3778 Same
14:06 I like her character design.
Agreed
14:24 Nice Try Cat Girl
Dang she is cute
Cute but dangerous :)
@ They always are 😅
i vaguely remember playing this game as a kid, and like many games from the 90s, having no idea what I was doing because I was too young. lol
Well, thanks to gog we can play many of them again even on modern systems. And this one is definitely worth playing again.
First, I came across "Stay Tooned", then I came across a 3DO game online titled "Brain Dead 13", and now, I come across this game called "Toonstruck", which uh, I might have heard or have seen footage from decades back, but I can only remember scenes of video games/movies but don't remember what the titles were, until now. "The game features hand-drawn imagery and animated characters, but the protagonist Drew Blanc (played by Christopher Lloyd) is represented as a video-captured live action character interacting with the cartoon world around him."...I mean, if Michael J. Fox was able to voice Stuart Little in Stuart Little's own PS1/PS2 game from the same movie franchise, then I shouldn't be surprised (almost did but thankfully did not) that Christopher Lloyd played this character in this video game. And Christopher Lloyd is still living as we're speaking of today....Wild to think just how much media this man has been, much like how many albums Andy Williams did up until his death in october 2012.
Thank you for your comment. I would say that hiring Christopher Lloyd for this game was something that made the good game simply great.
I have never seen this game before but yeowsa is the animation real quality but the artstyle is appealing and apart from outside the cutsenes, the liveaction guy blends seriously well into the world. Who is responsible for this?
Burst Studios. Later acquired by Electronic Arts... I would say, unfortunately...
@RetroGamingFather-hb6qv Yo! Thanks alot for answering. I'm glad to know now. I'm gonna search up their work 😄
13:14
If i had a nickel for every time Christopher Loyd played a live action character in a world full of cartoon people, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't much, but it's weird that it happened twice...

And it would be great if there were more of them because this one really rocks :)
@RetroGamingFather-hb6qv facts
this came out the same year as the awesome Blazing Dragons point and click game on Playstation, i still have my blazing dragons game too man that was a year of point and click adventures but funny thing though miss fortunes voice sounds soo freakking familiar i heard her voice in fallout 76 several times, Tress MacNeill i love her as Gadget Hackwrench and Chip from chip n dale rescue rangers and the similar sounding Kath Soucie is in Fallout76 one voice being the nuclear launch n silo voice, but man i do like the kitty girl very adorable, this would do good on ps4 or 5 and or steam as well.
Also attractive cat lady? Sign me up!
So happy that RUclips’s algorithm brought me here. Wasn’t even aware of this game until now.
Same
And there are more great but forgotten games like this. Will try to show more of them on my channel.
What a star-studded cast of actors and voices. Can't believe I didn't hear of this game growing up in the 90's myself.
Unfortunately, the game was commercial failure. Which is a reason why they never made any sequel. It is a very good game though.
there are many good things that they let go and no one would even hear about them unless you worked at their company or had family that did,
@@RetroGamingFather-hb6qv how did you wind up playing this? I find modern computers have problems running older software.
Same here
I didnt knew that game existed. Interesting. 🤔
I guess that was the reason why the game failed commercially when it was released. Many people just didn't know that it existed. And there are more good games like this. I am prepared to take a closer look at it later.
@RetroGamingFather-hb6qv nice, i Will wait when you have ready the games, for take a look. 😁
Man's living the RogerRabit fan dream
Exactly :)
Thats very good game
I agree. Very good adventure game with great sense of humor.
The game that will never get a sequel.
Most likely not. But you never know :)
Man they sure dont make point and click games like they used to these days
Unfortunately... Luckily, we can still play them even on modern systems :)
For whatever it is worth I would check out the “Deponia” game series (there are four of them but you can get 3 of them for $30 on stream (and that is when they are not on sale) for some point and click adventure game fun. The difficulty is scaled “correctly” in my eyes that I was able to beat them without ever needing to look up a guide, and they follow the Lucas Arts tradition of it being impossible to die /get yourself into a failed state so you never have to worry about rp wasting time doing in it,
Didn't knew DOC Brown can " Rizz " that furry cat lady.
He is capable of anything :)
That’s doc for ya
00:24 Mettaton?
ikr
Yet more proof that 1996 was the greatest year of all time for video games.
Don't know if the greatest but one of the greatest for sure.
Until 2010 its gold era for games.
pov 1: you're a furry who clicked for the thumbnail pov 2: you clicked cause you didn't read the title and thought it was a 90's cartoon show you've never heard of
pov 3: you clicked because you simply like classic adventures from the 90's :)
I mean....she is kinda cute 😏
POV 4: All of the above
I'll second 4
Why not both?
No! Not a cat lady to simp on!
Just beware of her hypnotic skills :)
@RetroGamingFather-hb6qv Don't go too deep
I pretty much got sad at what happened to the Carecrow, i actually liked that guy
Yes, poor guy. He was so gentle and kind...
New to me. How did I miss this gem?
Unluckily, it was a commercial failure. But great adventure indeed.
I don't know which is more dark The Cow and The Sheep becoming one of those people who enjoy Pain a little too much, or the fact they're most likely using and/or possibly killing their horse friend to make glue
Ayyo is that Christopher Lloyd?!
Great Scott, yes!
It is him indeed. And thanks to him the game is as good as it is.
Also, Tim Curry as nefarious and Ben Stein as well
I would kill for a sequel
There was a supposed Toonstruck 2 on plan in the air, but the lacking of fan support killed the project entirely. By the end of 2013, all of Keith Arem's poromises remained unfulfilled. All hope has lost.
That would be great. Especially with such a cliffhanger at the end.
-cracks knuckles- Welp, guess the only thing to do is write out an unfunny and slightly unhinged, meandering fanfic focusing on Drew’s granddaughter, Drew! Named after her grandfather, who mysteriously disappeared one day twenty years prior. For added convenient plot development, she is not an animator like her predecessor, but a voice actress. That way she can have multiple scenes throughout of tricking various villainous toons with a quick voice change. Man. I was joking, but if that was the plot for the next game I would probably enjoy it.
I tried to play it long ago. Unfortunately I didn't speak English that time and couldn't understand any of lines. Then it just lost and I forgot the name of this game. Thank you for refreshing memories. 😄👍
Thank you too!
Never would i have clicked on a video so fast from seeing a cat lady on the thumbnail, 90s games fucking RULE!!!!😎🤘💕🔥✨💯🐱
You are right. Many of them are still highly enjoyable even today.
MFW cat lady, HEAR ME OUT!!!
*Ms Fucking Wonderful?*
I'M HEARING THE CAT LADY IS FUCKING HOT
Isn't she really something? :)
@@christiancourt1234 what does MFW mean?
@ my face when
Classic!
It is indeed. Unfortunately, almost forgotten one...
5:35 What the heck? He's not only deaf, but also blind.
Or simply stupid :)
Wait, that's C.Lloyd? Professor Emmet is a furry?!
Yep
He actually stands against her. He and his sunglasses :)
😂
Wow! This game have 24 years, but the cutscenes are well animated. And that intro with song. I know it's parody for James Bond. XD Also it's really from the Monolith Productions. The gameplay look like from F.E.A.R. they made.
I totally agree. Simply, it is one of the best FPS games ever.
