Protecting pregnant workers and new mums at work
Its very difficult to prove disability even with genuine records showing long term impact of conditions. I submitted over 100 pages of medical info from GP to the Employment Tribunal and was dismissed because it was not complete. But no specific info on how to make it complete eg what exactly is missing.
I like this presenter. She is so knowledgeable and is so supportive and friendly. Many thanks for what you do. ❤❤❤
can someone help me and Recap in a short paragraph the main points of the listening pls ?
How will the employer monitoring happen
Great session
Couldn't attend this webinar in work time. These webinars are so good and Anna is such a good host. Thank you TUC. Shame there were technical issues which caused it to be less than it could have been. I am a rep and a safety rep primarily working with government lawyers. Being a lawyer is very stressful. The primary issue to me, it seems, is trying to obtain a system of work that does not the cause mental health issues in the first place. Everything else that we see in this space is addressing the effects of the poor system of work. It is a real challenge and employers just don't want to engage. They say - there are all these facilities that we have provided to heal your mental health - without addressing the cause. I've been working on this for a number of years and yet, sadly, seem to make no headway.
Well done Jamie and everyone for the brilliant work you do in this vital area
Hi from Liverpool
Hi was there ever a part two to this section please I’m in a meeting this week with my rep who is new to his role and we’re both unsure what to expect during the meeting thanks TUC
I do apologise for missing the session. Climate change has indeed affected every public sector worker's physical and mental health.
Very helpful, thank you
Excellent, so good to have the recording to listen to again. Keeping it real for our TUC and Employment Law, studying at open university criminology, a society work and people in the UK who knows where this will go in the UK improving ourselves for the employment sectors, change of hands after 2nd May 2024 long time overdue, I have been treated badly by a manger now re-educating myself at open university. RIGHTS RIGHTS RIGHTS FOR UK EMPLOYEES NEED TO BE UPDATED. Published writer working from home
very fruitful
This was brilliant. Currently going through a contract change now.
Is the book you refer to, at 51 minutes, called 'Stolen Focus' by Johann Hari?

Beneficial Webinar. Heating Should be available for all employees who work in a cold environment. Thank you.
The pink lady has some really awesome hand signs very smooth 😂👏👏👏
Very instructive, thank you for this information.
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you for the video, it was helped me and my colleagues
You are welcome!
If there is just 1 person being made redundant from a team of 4 (it is definitely a sham redundancy) - does the employer still have to consult with the union or is that only if it is over 20 people? Thanks for such an informative video TUC :)
Hi can I get your number please
I am interested in the law regarding Government Departments ie HMRC a core service and the discriminatory way they treat customers. They just ignore the legislation in my experience. They awarded 100 pounds...never received. However that was one incident. With the govt not raising the personal allowance it has spiralled more of us unto the tax bracket. I am aged, disabled and have mental health problems.
So basically you’re your not talking about a union you’re talking about hiring only one people’s. This is not a union it’s racism.

How can Reps advocate for colleagues who are told they will have to use annual leave or make up time for attending medical appointments directly associated with their disability?
I am in shock about these amazingly helpful videos being posted on here and people not having any knowledge of it
What an amazing initiative ❤❤❤

Retrospectively, is the long history of failure to address the Occupational Health of 58% of DSE operators now going to be included future Accessibility Maturity Reporting on compliance with WCAG 2.1 Colour Contrast Validation and companion ISO 30071.1 DSE Colour Contrast Calibration mitigating early onset eye-strain, Screen Fatigue or Computer Vision Syndrome manifesting in visual repetitive stress injuries / monocular 2D adaptations, myopic and asthenopic disease ?
Wtf is this bs
who else whatch this bc of school?
I just wanted to say that I saw a kick start job for a cleaner , In a dental practice, now I'm pretty sure that a cleaner will posibley Learn the job in two weeks, I really think the employer is taking advantage here
This was really helpful! Cheers much for putting this on yt for those of us who couldn't attend
If it’s individual issues Unions have no interest and will allow mental stress in the workplace.

Excellent webinar, thanks to the speakers and well done Hilda Palmer for saying it like it is!
Takes me back to Sick Building Syndrome (SBS) and just how much better prepared we would have been in 2020 had Government the HSE, employers and FM taken the occupational health of employees increasing accepting presenteeism as the norm along with 20% lost productivity due to consistently poor levels of Wellbeing and overall physical and mental health. 58% of DSE Operators "carrying-on regardless" of suffering "avoidable eye-strain, computer vision syndrome or screen fatigue", resulting in 3D vision loss, induced myopic or asthenopic disease as a predictable "repetitive stress injuries" - expediently ignoring your rights and responsibilities for your own Health and Safety is in affect negligence and self-harming - Doh
Can I adopt Hilda ? I would love to have her on my side as, clearly does not suffer fools gladly and, would make sure government and employers are compliant with "Accessibility Regulations" for websites and display screen interface calibration, WCAG 2.1 & ISO 30071.1 the individual custom DSE Colour Contrast Validation and Calibration mitigating vision loss and significantly enhancing Accessibility.
