Uncle Goyle, Tara Jelani, Rosie's Cantina, Wild Karen, Tuff and Charming...all discarded like a piece of trash. Did I plan on spending my retirement caring for the castoffs of this industry? No, but apparently there are tens of thousands of OTTBs/Broodmares that are sold for a few hundred dollars for their weight. I have people actually tell me they do not slaughter them. Well, they do. In fact we have Americans that OWN the slaughterhouses just over the border. Their needs to be REAL funding. Hay prices have doubled in 4 years. I could go on but the reality is when these horses are not " worth" anything to the industry they get a one way ticket to slaughter in the most brutal way possible. I would love to ask all the " Owners" who happened to be on my wall as Uncle Goyle hit the boards often...did you ever think about him starving in a kill pen? Anyone? His last owners used pliers to remove his racing plates as he hit the boards yet again a few months before discarded like trash. Take A Shot LLC-last "owner". Truly if owners game plan for retirement is slaughter with direct ship..they should never be allowed to race or train or own pets for that matter. Oh and recently I had the chance to pick up a former two year old filly of the year, winner of almost 800 K for sale for next to nothing at a kill pen in Oklahoma. Her name is Bai and Bai. I bought one of the other broodmares that was with her. So being a top horse, doing your job means absolutely nothing.

Everyone involved with the Pennsylvania state horse racing commission and Parx racing leadership/ownership roles should dip their heads in a bucket of horse crap. From the dead horses, loads of alleged cheating horse trainers racing horses, pathetic post time drag, Parx race courses unfit for proper horses to run over, high takeout, CAW action and loads of other nonsense. Sans the non management people working at these places, you people are pathetic. Go pound sand.

Our sport of thoroughbred horse racing is truly the best. Funny Cide was an amazing thoroughbred and he will be forever honored at Saratoga. Truly he was The Gutsy Gelding

Federal register (regulations.gov) says HISA safety modified rules were approved. They go into effect July 8, 2024. AS an owner and for other owners we need 2 credit hours per year per HISA. Don't know whether PA cares but you can get your FREE credits at Horsemens U. If we need them in PA? Better safe than fined. They did not change first time starter rule. Per HISA all horses MUST start (be in a race) by 4 th birthday. (Jan.1) Otherwise, they can't race EVER. Nice RUclips channel- Thankyou Thorofan Media- tell others.

This was likely massive incompetence, they totally screwed up then doubled down. But, also possibly fraud. NYRA or NY gaming commision could and should make big changes here but they're both fairly incompetent themselves. The gaming commision going after Linda Rice was ridiculous.

Dance Smartly was such a gutsy filly. I remember watching many of those races and it's great to see her mentioned here. She so outclassed many of her competitors and I always felt that she deserved so much more respect than what she got.
