@TheRealSpeedWolf if im not mistaken, auto trunk pop was not an oem standard at the time of production. Maybe it was an optional add-on for the U.S. models. However, if you have the power trunk and it's not working, then you might want to look at the trunk actuator to see if it is faulty.

@@mouachang874 Thank you for the response. By any chance, do you know if the 2000 Honda Civic has an immobilizer chip? I bought my car second-hand, and the previous owner only had one key. Since I bought a key fob, I’m concerned that if I try to reactivate it, it might activate the immobilizer if there is one. However, as far as I can tell, they didn’t start installing it in the Honda Civic until the 2001 model, with the exception of the Honda Accord from the same year as mine.

@TheRealSpeedWolf chipped keys for civics didn't come until 2001 and up. You are fine with a 5 dollar key.

@@querepario472 I only use the "asian vehicles blue" kind. Or you can use some honda/acura brand, which is more expensive. If im in a pinch and out in the middle of no where. I'll grab import green for Temporary

@r.j.chaffin7089 after I got it cut at my local lock smith, It does work and function like an oem key. So yes, the key itself does work.

It goes into the optional slots on the fuse box, under the dash

I believe it works on power doors if your have them

But you have already programmed the control in civic 96 to 98 that way, because according to the keyless control circuit it is in the original stereo

@wilmeralcideszelaya3514 the car has an aftermarket stereo. Not oem honda radio. You can see it very clearly in the video

I believe it don't have to be specific. The civic does not have auto trunk pop. Yet the remote still programmed to the car .

It is stock, just painted wrinkle blue

I took my key to the local key shop and had them do the cut and programming. It is cheaper than what the stealership will charge

This car never had a key fob for as long as I've had it
