A truly main danjin
This reminds me of that old game, Lose Lose, where the enemies you had to shoot correspond to a random file on your computer, and when you kill it that file is deleted. The game keeps going until your computer is inoperable
I'm really curious as to what the file would've actually messed up if it was deleted (even though, apparently it was a bluff, but could you IMAGINE)
Basically he'd just have to install a new copy of windows and it'd be fine
I remember hearing my friend choosing his crypto password (or whatever that's called) not knowing about the whole fake deletion thing, and the reaction he makes when P03 says it could be deleted is, Incredible
It's op for you in game. But it cost something in real life...
The people who made games like this who can get access to your personal files and menacing inocent people to delete their files life are totally drunked with mess up brain
Can you say that again with less whiskey this time?
You seem kinda "totally drunked" tbh
well to be fair...they don't actually _do_ it
even if the card dies the file is safe. however... if the card dies and you delete the file yourself you get an achivement. in other words its just a troll from the devs
Stop it with the clickbait.
He is deleting his Windows file in the game. It is not clickbait
@@Sonic_the_hedgedog No he isn't, because he didn't loose the card. If he was, the title would be appropriate, even though the game doesn't actually delete your files.
So apparently the threat of actually deleting the file was a bluff, but damn if it didn't make this the most tense engagement in the entire game. Without a doubt it was the closest I've seen a game get to Damage yet.
which is why when i did the boss fight i chose a random image file i did not care about just to make sure its not gonna delete my file, when the text came up i knew i made the right choise
In the beta for this game, it did actually (or at least tried to) delete the files, however the creator changed it after hearing the horrified reactions the testers had to it
@@CLTurtle It would also make it literally malware if it did that, and thus unsellable on Steam, at least without a warning spoiling the surprise. At least, I think.
@@dutch_asocialite Well, whether or not it is Malware gets a little hazy when you take into account that it did technically ask for the user’s consent in deleting said file…but either way, probably a smart choice to not actually make it delete anything
@@CLTurtle aka- they all had a severe case of "skill issue"
i like how they just let that happen
Fun fact: if the card you made dies, since inscryption doesn't have permission to delete files, p03 will just make a .txt file saying go delete it yourself.
I did this exact same thing.
What does that one specific file do? 👀
It's a source file, meaning your pc won't have a script for Windows and can't run your OS
@@reesebonin9890 Oh God.
@@SeptemberStranger28on other words, your pc is bricked
He's not a masochist, he just wants to suffer
He just wants to see if his computer can take it Edit: forgot: it :
Pretty sure if the game had actually went through with deleting a file like actually made it so it deletes it… would that classify the game as malware? I’m genuinely curious so does anyone know?
I think it actually would! I don't know the full details but I think it's because games aren't supposed to be able do delete exterior files (as in files not from the game itself) from your computer.
It cant actually delete the file
im not sure if that would classify the game as malware, because at this point, its a game a immersive experience, and then the game still give u the option to just not play the card, so its not like its forcing you to play the card. in simple worlds, the file would not get deleted unless yourself Risk it. since the game gives the player control of everything in the process and don't force you to delete the file i don't tink it would be malware, to be a malware it would need to force you to play the card, 1- the game asks u to choose a file, (u can just create a temporary empty txt on desktop if you want) 2- the game warns you it will delete the file if that card dies 3- the game don't force you to play the card (no game mechanic force you to put down a card) since its all manually by the user, i don't think it would be a malware.
@@gabrielandy9272 bruhh have y'all even played the game? it doesn't delete your file lmao p_03 only says that to scare you
@@fennfeno I have played the game and finjished to what I'm saying is that even if the game did delete it I would not think it would classify as a malware because the game warn the player and don't force the player to use the card
Before knowing that it wouldn't actually delete the windows file i was panicking for mark. I pacing the room gripping onto the phone tightly. And it only worse when he ACTUALLY PLAYED IT
The second funniest moment in his Inscryption series, behind him naming his custom cards
I like how naturally this exchange progresses Mark: "Please don't delete this" P03: "Imma delete this" Mark: **Visible panic**
*”PLEASE, THAT’S A WINDOWS FILE!”*
As someone who selected a Wacom tablet's executable (which I didn't even know what it was exactly) I understand the dread mark felt xD A friend of mine told me what happens if the file does die though. Although he could have told me earlier =. =
Even if it was deleted that alone wont destroy your pc. All you have to do to repair it is either use the windows auto repair tool or use cmd commands like chkdsk /F And some dism commands And sfcscannow /f So no biggy.
My gosh, this was so hilarious and tense to watch the first time. This game has really impressed me.
I made the mistake of playing this game on a brand spanking new PC, and selected a random file. I was shitting myself because how could I not play a card with 3 power and 3 health? I knew what I was getting into and I was still shitting myself.
The game can't actually delete the files
The card doesn’t actually get deleted if it dies, PO3 can’t actually do that. It just creates a text file asking you to honor your promise and delete the file.
Don't forget that you get the hardest achievement in the game for deleting it.
Good to know that this is only voluntary.
i will do the honorable thing by deleting it
fun fact: in the beta version, it actually was deleted when it died! this horrified playtesters so much though that it was removed
pretty sure any game can delete any file that doesnt ask for admin access
Markiplier: "If this card dies my computer will be destroyed. Dear god please do not let that happen!" Also Mark: *plays the card* Looks like somebody likes living on the edge
I did this with a random file. I didn’t know it at the time, but this was just a jpeg for my cursor. “I too, like to live dangerously.”
@@milanek1527 bro that's the windows 32 file, it's what let's your computer run, without it you literally can't use your computer and would have to hard restart it so that the PC can redownload with the file, u high or what?
Some might mistake Mark for some kind of MASOCHISTIC.
remember he's not a masochist
