Been going around looking for people who have seen this and reviewed it so glad i found you all. Really enjoyed this flick despite whatever flaws it might have. The visuals and soundtrack are outstanding in this film as well as the performance by Vimala Pons (Sternberg). Liked it so much actually ordered it on blu ray and watched it again last night. Will be going a review of it myself but want to wait for my wife to get home from her trip in a couple of weeks to get her thoughts on it as well.

when the dog appeared, eva green's character has become possessed. the filipino is a witch and one of her powers, in filipino folktale, is the ability to make an enemy go insane, which is why all her symptoms disappear whenever she visits a doctor. it means eva green's character is not suffering from a "western" mental breakdown but from a curse. amnesia is one of several manipulative ploys of a witch to make anybody let her enter their houses.

I “loved” it…after Covid with so many people posting on IG how horny and lonely they were and the government s saying yes or no to a new variant that takes away the switch in your head of yes or no, right or wrong was genius. The amazing part was that you, as a viewer, kinda desensitized by the end proving that we all could go crazy. I’d love to hear your thoughts on the end.

it was next level . Absolutely outstanding

Very bloody and shocking film with some almost depraved scenes. The dialogue was a bit soft though. I was surprised at the use of Hokkien vulgarities too. A first time for me.

I wasn’t huge on We Summon The Darkness either lots of potential but falls flat af. I still gotta checkout Vivarium I’ve heard great things and your little clips def sold me on checking it out. I wasn’t huge on Host either, the best thing about it was that it was made during quarantine but other than that it’s just average. Unfriended is way better but idk about Unfriended 2 I wasn’t a big fan lol. I really liked Underwater, it’s not a classic but I thought it was a really fun popcorn flick and it was also the last film I saw in theaters before COVID hit so I was really glad I got to see it on the big screen especially since I’m a sucker for Alien & Aliens ripoffs. I do agree if there was a stronger Lovecraftian element to Underwater and the crew was losing their minds like Blaise said it would of been way better, it’s much more an Aliens ripoff than a Lovecraft film but for me I still had a blast. I agree Come To Daddy was a great batshit insane ride, the poop pen, the fork scene, and the receipt holder all i gotta say so good. I’m also a huge Elijah Wood fan his work he’s done with Spectrevision has made them one of my favorite production companies in horror. Im also a big fan of the Maniac remake. Man you guys broke my heart on The Rental I really fucking loved that movie. I was invested in the characters, really felt for Jeremy Allen White’s character, and I enjoyed the fuck out of how the movie took that turn in the last 20 minutes it totally won me over with what happened, I really hope it gets a sequel with a more traditional slasher form. The Rental was my number 4 out of my top 5 of 2020. I really liked The Wolf Of Snow Hollow too I really gotta watch it again. I was surprised how heartwarming it got, and all the laughs were great, the twist didn’t work for me at first but the more I sat on it the more I was okay with it. Wasn’t one of my top films of 2020 but definitely a strong one with lots of rewatch-ability and one of my favorite Werewolf movies in recent years!
