      Yes! Hydrofoil. That is way more techy than fancy floaty boat. Couldn't think of the name of it at the moment. Navy battles have the longest wait times it seems.

    Heya Sockey! Sorry for the harsh start with this one, 8 rounds, no health... army of chaingunners... I've added a bit more ammo for V0.06... (Check out the preview clips I posted for level 17, 18 and 32 in particular... I think you'll like the look of 18!) Also... those chain gunners are now largely imps, with a couple of shotgunners. Again... really sorry for that! XD On the bright side, that helped me balance things better. I remembered you had mentioned something about that during one of your videos and set the ole ticker to how I could make it a bit fairer. @7:32 Yeah, the Ferryman is off somewhere. :D The name of the level is a reference to 'the fifth circle of hell' which is where that river is, of course, located. :) It's also where the city of Dis can be found... Doomguy went there in Doom 1... deep in the center of the city to kill the Spider Mastermind. This ends at the Dis city gates, that lie at the end of the River Styx. @9:46 ... I'm so, so sorry... there is much more health here and through out the rest of the level, along with ammo now though... @14:43 Thanks. XD I needed another texture to use exclusively in hell zones beside that red and white rock theme. The Marble is exclusively earthly zones. So I made these. :D Places where they green marble appears with hell zone textures, as they do later (levels 16-18)... the veil is highly blurred and both realms are one. The Hellmerge has begun... };D @17:46 NICE! Very nicely done! Well plasma'd my friend! @27:54 }8D *evil finger steeple of doom* That played out precisely as I had planned! XD @33:47 XD There is a second warehouse secret like this one now in V0.06 working file. It has Indiana Jones' hat and whip tucked away in a corner. I might put it in this one too, as this secret was supposed to have the ark of the covenant in it, hinting it was the warehouse from the end of the film. I didn't know how to do the hat and whip at the time, as a substitute. @39:00 I was very much being inspired by Plutonia throughout this one... this one and level 15. XD @41:48 }8D @42:34 I don't blame you for it! You've been doing a freaking amazing job given your start! :D @43:03 SICK! That's a friend of mine over here, he lives roughly an hour North of me. That's his twitch channel. XD @46:28 They feel like they are to me as I watch this too, but they're just regular arachnotrons... so I don't think they are. @47:23 The Gates of Dis, which lie at the end of the River Styx, a giant, gated wall that marks the start of the outskirts of Dis and eventually leads deep down into its center... as described by Dante in ze very famous poem... @54:04 That was smoooooth, like a criminal! @56:34 That's just the texture, combined with a flickering light sector effect. With rather chunky lighing sectors... you can see them if you look at the roof closely. :D @1:07:37 Hit that switch again, at the very start of the next level, before you do anything... and be on the look out for 'waterfalls'... you'll thank me! ;D That was a freaking awesome run! By the way... when the image lowered at the switch, to show a version of the gate with the barrier lowered, a red blemish appeared at the lower right... shoot it for a secret there... and the texture that alerted you to the warehouse... look for that in the corridor just before the door that lead to the shortcut. As for the super secret secret... after you take the first boat, if you can deal with the pain elemental and chaingunners, there is a door you can see across the canyon. You have to shoot it to reveal the first eye. XD Thank you for playing and sharing! I really hope you enjoyed it! Oh... fun little tid bit... lvl 31 is currently the hardest level in the wad now! :D I don't know how hard 32 is going to prove to be.

      The chaingunners got me bad at the start, Was wondering if I'd be able to make it through this level. I was lucky several times and made it, though. I'll play the V0.06 going forward so it gives the most up to date experience. Played this map right after level 9. This video & the next Ancient Aliens are one I recorded a while back. Want to find that Indiana Jones secret. That is a cool reference. I thought it was neat how the monster found the shout-out secret for me. The texture with the candles looked great. Made me look a few times. Thanks for the tip about the switch. Been trying to find one of those secrets every time I see a waterfall. Appreciate the tips for the other secrets! Hopefully I'll have more health & ammo starting 31 & 32 (or if they are secret levels, I'll be able to find them). Even though I struggle on this map, I thought it was great. The theme here is awesome! Like noted before, I will get V0.06 to play for the videos. I do want to continue this version afterwards because I do enjoy seeing these maps develope over time. Looking forward to the next one!

      ​@@Sockeydoesstuffgaming-bj2gm I'm about to start playtesting, so hopefully Version 0.06 will be released sometime this week. :D I rewatched your play throughs from level 7-9 a couple of times whilst working on this update, and went back and added extra ammo and health in every level from 8 onwards, lol. I ended up changing those chaingunners at the start of level 10 for imps because I was doing a full playtest, taking the normal or easy path and they were just chewing me up from across the river styx... It was way too brutal. Indiana Jones secret is found in level 31. Both 31 and 32 are the secret levels for the megawad. You'll have to find the fireblue shoutout in the very starting room of level 15, to access the super secret secret sigils. Then entrance to the first secret level is behind a hidden wall at the top of the lift with the megasphere. I'm going to also put it in the warehouse secret you found, so it'll be there too, in version 0.06. In level 31, find the fireblue next to the yellow skull key door... then look for the different texture near the actual shoutout. That's the exit for level 32. If you ever want to make use of textures I've created for DDDOBB, like the candles, feel free to do so! :D The tip with regards to the switch for level 11, will give you Super Secret Secret and Fireblue Shoutouts. The waterfall you're going to be wanting to look out for is actually a lavafall. ;) Hopefully I've got the health and ammo balance right with V0.06... this level wasn't meant to be quiet this rough... level 12 on the otherhand... I've actually kept copies of each version update on my pc and kept them on ModDB, archived for much the same reason. It's nice to look back and see how things evolved. :D Like I say, I'm hoping to have V0.06 released sometime this week or next, so the included save files will be at the end of level 12 and end of level 15. At least if the ammo / health situation is a bit rough in 11 and 12 in this version, you'll be able to continue on without too much pain. :D

    I am just a playtest of the hard mode to go for V0.05 before it gets released. You will be happy to hear after I watched this video and rewatching level 8’s play through…. I’ve gone through and added some extra ammo and health In levels 8-12. Some got a bit more than others, but it shouldn’t be *quite* as brutal. XD

    Handled that opener nicely! :D I'm working on level 15 atm, already have the secret level exit in place! XD @6:17 Nah, the blinking is just one of three levels of highlighting the solution for the player. The blinking, the potions and if you look closely at the ground there, the correct path is inset by 1 pixel unit height. ;) But you do have to be precise going around the corners, as the path is only 64 units wide, making the corner a 64x64 square... just barely touch that teleport line and back to the start. I figured that would be nasty enough going through the first time, hence having those walls raise when it's solved, so that passing that way again later wasn't annoying as hell. @12:36 You almost found a secret... a reference to Cabin in the Woods along with a good ole' Aussie outdoor dunny... if you had just looked further to your left there... @24:13 That switch is what opened when you pressed the computer console, before descending into that little arena. The area that it opened is a completely optional hidden area, that holds the Fireblue... ;) @26:46 That's the one I made for the WAD, same one I've used in lvl 1, 7 and... I don't honestly remember where else, haha. @30:18 Fireblue is directly in front of you, just have to walk back down those stairs and you will see it! :D That was an awesome run! Handled it well... it's ramping up... lvl 13 is a doozy! The ammo situation worked out roughly how I was intending too.. I was trying to experiment with a bit of ammo starvation... *just* enough to kill everything, but leaving you feeling a bit 'ouch'. You came very, very close to finding a few secrets... inspect the area where the first mancubus appears from, in that little spa area after the shower room. Once you get the blue key, cross that little land bridge and inspect the walls at the top of the first short flight of stairs! :D Thanks for such an enjoyable playthrough! I think you're going to really enjoy the next three... and they finally include a waterfall secret or two!

      Got lucky on the start. That will teach me to move before I'm ready to play. That was a cool pathway puzzle. Enjoyed that. That's funny how close I was to those secrets and still managed to miss them. Thanks for the hints! I played the next level right after this one. You will get a kick out of how much I struggle with that one at first. I was having doubts I would be able to complete it. Awesome levels! Oh YES!!! Been wanting a waterfall secret for a long time. Hopefully I don't miss it.

      @@Sockeydoesstuffgaming-bj2gm The walls coming up once that pathway puzzle is first complete came about because I got sick of screwing it up constantly when I was play testing and running back through the area after the first time, hahaha. It ended up working out to be the perfect touch to the puzzle I think. hehe, I still really want to know what secret you're missing in level 3, because if it's the Fireblue, you almost found it in the first play through. XD I am actually very, very interested in the next four levels... they will definitely help me gauge ammo pickups... I noticed you pretty low in this one still... I think I need to add some hard path only caches into this level... maybe a couple in level 8 as well. You may want to explore the lava in level 11... ... technically it's lava, not water... ;) Level 11 & 12 are following the tough combat curve... I'm trying to make 13-15 tough, but a roll back to give a lul and a bit of a breather after that intensity. The secret level is going to be tough, but full of goodies. I'm working on the first secret level atm and once that's done I'll be doing a few play tests. V0.05 is close to ready! haha. XD P.S. @23:14 I think this little computer room arena is my favorite little series of encounters in this level... this and the courtyard with all the cacodemons!

    Hey. Thanks for playing one of my levels for RAMP 2023. This was my first ever DOOM level and was made before I learned about UDMF features. I had been messing around in Doom long before RAMP 2023 was announced and this level was the mishmash of everything I had taught myself. I have an other level in RAMP 2023 (Enceladus Domain) and it was made while I was still learning what the UDMF format could do. I have not made a level for RAMP 2024 since my schedule didn't make it viable, but maybe next year. I love seeing how people play my maps from last year and it teaches me how things seem obvious to the map maker, but are not so obvious to the player. I also saw I left an accidental extra health pack from an abandoned secret idea hanging around. Thankfully you didn't notice it and it didn't make your run longer or unplayable.     hahaha, once I figured out how to hardcode that into the WAD, I put it in. No jump or crouch was always the intended way to play throug DDDOBB... I just didn't realise I could define that in MAPINFO in the first couple of versions. @8:38 HAHAHAHA, those Pinkies up there are just freaking out! hahahaha! @9:32 Spider Mastermind!?!?! :O That's a nasty spot to hid it! @16:48 How'd he get past the Pinkie!? He must have killed it! That was a pretty cool little maze!

      Hi Makros! Sorry for the delay. I've been away for a bit and see I missed this comment. I'll probably struggle playing Doom and War Thunder once I get back to recording. It's been a while. The town I live in flooded a few weeks ago. I was lucky. It didn't get to my house (higher elevation), but most people I know weren't as fortunate. We are right on a river in the Midwest, US. Been helping with clean-up. Things are pretty much back to normal now, so I will be back shortly

    Ooh I had a similar problem when I tried to add my custom bunny head on a spike sprite. I can't remember how I fixed that... I think I needed to adjust the height at which the sprite spawns, in the DECORATE code... or it might have been in the image editing part of SLADE. I *think* it was in the image editing part... I had to set the offsets to 0 and 56 respectively, for it to appear on the ground, rather than under it. Can't wait to see how your level is progressing though! Always love these air battles! Those trucks ramming each other was great!

      Oh Awesome! It was the offsets. I can see my tree now. Thank you so much! Hoping to upload it to RAMP the middle of the month, if I get the textures how I want them. The layout is complete. Not sure what was up with thoses vehicles, but it was a funny moment.

      @@Sockeydoesstuffgaming-bj2gm Oh sweet! I'm glad that was the solution! XD I can't wait to see what you're creating for RAMP! You can upload your level as a W.I.P.... allowing you to secure your levels allocation in the WAD and test it to make sure it all works in the actual RAMP project. (You can download a preview build after uploading), Then you can just update your level as you go... that's what I've done. Fun With Portals is map 26 in the project! :D I honestly hope we see more trucks ramming each other unexplicably! :D

      That's a good idea! Didn't think about securing a spot and making sure it works right in RAMP. Working on it now so maybe I'll be able to upload it Sunday. I struggle choosing textures the most and have been working on custom ones. I need to learn to not be so picky. Hope that happens again, too. It is entertaining.

I should play through this again, lol! @22:47 Nice! 4 Cacodemons and 1% in such a tight space is a pretty scary situation to find oneself in! @36:50 I got so frustrated with this room when I first played through Sigil, hahaha. I kept falling into the lava. Those last two Barons were nasty! :D Awesome run!

      Thank you! I struggled to keep healthy through this whole Wad. He did good with the Baron placement at the end of this one. Completely caught me off guard. I misread how many maps there are (Didn't realise the 18 included 9 Deathmatch maps). Finished the rest of it the same day, so will have to get Sigil II now.

    @2:39 The starting area is the end of the flesh wing, with the red key, in level 1. ;D @8:47 They are always shootable. :D Super Secret is the only thing I ever use them for. @14:44 HAZZAH!!! XD @24:32 Yeah. XD @46:03 That lowers the yellow key inside a secret so you can get the final secret... the yellow door. ;) @47:08 Yep. I took all those photos too. The one next to it is Brisbane train station at midnight and on the other side is the lead singer of combichrist at a concert and a shipwreck that used to be on a beach not far from where I live. Shootable misaligned texture to the left of where you're looking, on the pillar. ;) @1:00:58 HAZZAH! You were close to finding the secret with the yellow key in the other optional area too. ;) That was an awesome run! In that computer room in the toxic slime area, there is a secret. The yellow key is on a pillar that lowers in that secret, if you find the switch behind the skull texture, as you did. Behind the yellow door is the final secret, which contains a BFG. Awesome work Sockey! Be ready for another start similar to level 5 for the next one! ;D

      @@Sockeydoesstuffgaming-bj2gm I was originally going to have one of the screens open the secret in that room, but thought a nice misaligned texture might be the perfect subversion of expectations there... I completely expected players to try and interact with them, meanwhile this totally unsubtle texture is being overlooked. :D I think I may need to signpost the exit a bit earlier, so that switch is noticed a tad easier and so it's clear that the yellow key is not required. I just thought it would be fun to have a secret behind a key door and let the players be temporarily wondering where the key is so they can progress, until they hit the switch and realise the exit is before them, without it. :D You're welcome for the heads up... one last one... Level 9's Fireblue is hidden in another optional area, but this optional area is well hidden... you'll need to interact with a monitor in the blue key area, that doesn't appear to do anything, but which opens a switch in that area. It's not a secret area, but it is well hidden. ;)

    What a freaking cool level! The scripted story text and intro cinematic where pretty damn cool! Some really awesome textures too, like that black marble and gold horned demon wall texture.

      I finally take out some vehicles on video! A guy I used to work with got me into this game. I enjoy being able to cruise around in historical vehicles. That's too bad it isn't working on your computer.

      Looks like they have more planes in Arcade Battles. At least in that one anyways. It was fun. Liked how they let me spawn again after the 1st plane went down.

    Excellent run, as always! :D Funny enough, I'm pretty sure it was a secret in Sigil II that inspired the Fireblue shoutouts in DDDOBB. You have to shoot the texture to open a secret and upon seeing that I thought "That's a great idea... I wouldn't use that texture otherwise..."

    I'm so glad you have found some of the secrets you were missing from the other levels. The easy and hard option has been like that since 0.01... There have been refinements to the early levels, but apart from the cage and new fence in the hellzone of level 1, that's how I created them. Oh... level 3... 2 secrets! There are 2 in the yellow key chamber. Both accessed via the same switch. In the caged room, the one of the far opposite corner to the yellow switch, there is a different texture in the small dead end room... same brick... white sludge pattern. What did you think of the Story screen at the end of level 6? @4:39 The first switch you pressed opened the hard and easy switch doors behind the wall the second switch opened. You can push them in either order, so if you push the wrong switch, there is no chance of just dashing to your option quickly, hahaha. @8:16 Map06, yeah... }8D This trap I call, the Edgecrusher and it kills me 98% of the time! @12:53 You can actually get the Super Secret Secret as you first enter the room... one of those spice cabinets hides the last Sigil, the other, the teleport. The invuln sphere lasts long enough to clear out most of the Revenants and all the Mancubai/Arachnotrons in the first just before this one. Sometimes long enough to deal with these Rev's too, if fast enough. @15:47 These guys don't spawn on the easy option. @19:53 That void area is the same courtyard... just... well... in the void. :D @21:30 :D Fireblue is near the white teleport ;D @27:34 NICE! @30:35 That switch opens the Wolfenstein ruins. There is now a new teleport open on the island directly across in the direction are looking when you press the switch. @36:43 HAZZAH! :D The was an awesome run, you totally nailed that! Hope you liked the improvements to the previous levels. Thank you for playing! XD P.S. I'll be posting a new video of the Fun with Portals thing tonight... I think you'll like what I've done! Very different to this... I learned a lot watching you working on the bridge and river! XD P.P.S If you still have a copy of 0.03... skip to Map07! ;)

      Playing levels 1 & 2 on the harder path was fun. Had a lot of "That wasn't there, was it?" moments. I did better the 2nd time around, though. It was fun to see the changes. On level 6, I had to no clip the fence when I got outside to proceed. Thought there was a line def on the path that teleported me last time around, but after clearing the monsters, I couldn't figure out what to do. Probably not remembering right and was excited to play the new levels & cheated a little there. Ramping up the difficulty a bit on 7. Glad to be playing this wad again.

      Ooh thank you for mentioning that about level 6. You definitely remembered correctly. There is a teleport line def there. I’m going to have to look into that as I thought that issue was fixed. I *think* it has to do with a monster standing on the teleport destination. Glad you enjoyed the hard path! Whilst working on level 11, I actually came up with a system to spawn imps for the easy option or chain gunners for the hard option in one of the encounters. Challenge is definitely ramping up from here. XD EDIT: Thanks again for pointing out that issue with level 6. I was able to create a fix and add it to the live zip file on ModDB! :D

      You woundn't believe how many times I tried to jump this last time around. Had to rethink areas I jumped to the 1st time. It was fun experiencing the same Wad yet realizing the changes when you come across them. I wasn't sure if maybe I was just forgeting how to proceed in Level 6. Glad you were able to fix it.

    @18:16 Oh, now those upwards flowing liquid textures are cool! :O Really liking the looks of this level a lot!!! @23:36 I was not expecting that mirror to appear.... that was trippy! Yeah, this is one creepy level, what with the moments of a really moving beat, switching to the eerie, empty behind the mirror world...

    I love the damage cam every time a hit is taken. Gives such a clear view of just the damage caused!
