Munich High End Audio Show 2023
A much delayed vlog about 2023's Munich High-End audio show. This year's show is just around the corner: www.highendsociety.de/high-end-44.html
Headphones I like the most: Meze Empyrean, Final D8000 Pro, STAX SR-X9000, Audeze LCD-5, Hifiman Susvara, Focal Utopia, Meze 109 Pro. I think these will work for most people too. Not an expert in amps and DACs, but dCS Bartók (APEX) remains my favorite DAC/Amp, other amps I like incl. Copland DAC215, Auris Nirvana IV, Chord Qutest+Anni, iFi iDSD Signature.
Headphones that I think caters a more specific taste:
- Abyss Diana: for larger heads, the headband tilts outward and the earcups no longer sit in parallel, so a proper seal might be hard to get.

官方頁面:etzinger-ag.com/home/manual-grinders-en/e...
Etzinger etz-I: A Fast Beautiful Grinder with Room to Improve
Просмотров 4,7 тыс.2 года назад
This is a quick review of the Etzinger etz-I hand grinder featuring aluminium body and a unique shaftless design. (Update: the funnel shape that retains some coffee grounds is confirmed to be Etzinger's Antistatic-Jig compressing the grounds to reduce static). - Pros: It grinds very fast, about 1/3 fewer turns than Comandante C40, and is very easy to disassemble. The resulting coffee tastes goo...
Google Pixel 6 Pro Review: A Photo Perspective
Просмотров 28 тыс.3 года назад
A short video about some shots taken from the Google Pixel 6 Pro. The triple lenses might seem sophisticated on specs, but they all output 12MP pics (4K x 3K). The main (50MP) and the telephoto (48MP) are roughly using 4 pixels into 1 (8K x 6K), I guess it is mainly for improving the picture quality and digital zooms. This also means the 4x zoom can either come from the main or the telephoto le...

Audioquest Dragonfly Cobalt vs. Chord Mojo vs. Dongles
Просмотров 21 тыс.3 года назад
A comparison between the Audioquest Dragonfly Cobalt, the Chord Mojo, and the Google / Apple Dongles. I was expecting an easy win for the Mojo, but it turned out much trickier: no one wins in all aspects, although the dongles are arguably much better value for money at what they deliver. In short: - Dragonfly: Good for Soundtracks, EDM, Orchestra. Look out for sibilance especially paired with b...
Final A4000 Impressions: Sound Stage!

The Final Audio A4000 is a budget IEM with very good sound quality and incredible sound stage that worth more coverage on RUclips. I am comparing it to the B&O H95 not because they are in the same league, but simply because I know it well and it is convenient to describe the differences. If you are considering the A4000, below are some useful links. Joshua's review is pretty positive, Crinacle'...
9Barista Espresso Maker

The 9barista Espresso Maker is one of the smallest devices that brews true Espresso. I went for it instead of the lever machines for its size and seemingly easier workflow. After some months of use, I am quite satisfied with the results, although it took more trial-and-error than I originally expected. Band & Olufsen H95: Noise Cancellation Test

Short update regarding B&O H95's active noise cancellation. I recorded the audio out of the headphone to show that ANC works even when the mic is recording against road and wind noises, it also works well enough against indoor background music to maintain a clear speech for meetings. Bang & Olufsen H95 Headphones First Impressions

First impressions on the Bang & Olufsen H95 headphones. This is the normal retail version and not the limited run of the first 95, though the difference seems that those have additional limited numbers laser-marked on the case. It seems majority of new LCDs have this, like its on purpose. Even expensive models. Why? Like I wouldn't pick IPS for good angles if it had this.
How do you know when it's done? Do you time it or another way?
Hey, hey. What if you have 2 flo sstands, would you be able to stack 2 monitors vertically? Does the arm have enought lenght for that? Say 2 odyssey g9s?
thanks!
Can you provide some information about monitors
If you have rising table you can use wall mount monitor arm such as from ergotron
Focals are in the top 3 when budgets are a concern, some amazing units for those folks with a quality first approach . Great review though, no fluff all good info, Thanks
Thank you for this video. As a LCDX (21) owner..nice to see them making a show.
great review, thanks. 3 years later do you have a dac recommendation for iems exclusively ?
The Yamahas are very demanding and picky, I hope you give them another try on a more synergistic chain.
Best review and well spoken - thank you Jim
Fiji is 21 bucks a case at Costco. According to this test regular bottled water, or RO water, is cheaper and better.
I understand your method now, i have been using this from 2019, but in my opinion, if it works, the coffee is nice, else .., it fails.. If i try 10 times, only 2 times the coffee comes out, else only steam and boiling water from the Black Exit. what would you suggest. Thanks.
Maybe the grind size is too fine? Try coarser and also tamp lightly.
I use the 9Barista for several months now and still having problems with acidic shots, just like you (and others). Never thought about that the problem could be adjusting the right heat adjustment. I tried so much starting with finding the right grindsize, tried different pressures with the tamper (because the company itself gives the advice that 5kg of pressure would be enough) but in the end my shots still were too acidic until right now. I will try the thing with the 2 different heats adjustments and I hope that will solve the problem. For such a high price I still wish that the company would give plenty more help with this problem because it seems that so many people battling with the same issue unfortunately. You can get disappointed and running out of patience pretty quick.
I remember in the beginning they were quite responsive through emails, perhaps the demand just went up and they couldn't catch up. It can also be that we usually get lighter beans for pour overs and AeroPress, and these can get quite acidic even when done right with commercial machines.
Hola buenas noches alguien ..me puede hscer el favor de decir.. como sacarle la tierra a estos zapatos, que tiene entre la goma y suela.
Mojo 2 vs Cobalt?
The cobalt is already quite old. People usually compare the Mojo 2 with iFi xDSD Gryphon. Mojo 2 sounds similar to Mojo 1 to me.
@@jimworksvlog Thanks for the reply but its too late as I already got my mojo2 and I love it.
@@Satyajit_Dey Congrats! It's also a cool device and a funky experience.
Dell AW2724dm 1440p IPS Panel, same blurry issue on the edges 😢
Thanks for posting great video
The Mojo is by far better then the dragonfly,s
It works better for some genres for sure. But in 2024 the Mojo especially Mojo 2 has become a very niche product, unlike a few years back when it's the only pocket DAC/Amp.
I can confirm ViewSonic VP3256-4K has same issue.
Can you tell how much time it use when it starts to brewing?
I'd say about 4-5 min.
What is the scale granularity of C40 do you use for 9barista? Just got this machine in hands:)
I use 9 and for some beans it's possible to push to 8. It's the C40 Mk3 with normal clicks, not red clix.
Thanks for the review. Just ordered mine!
❤🎉😮
Best review I’ve seen of the etz I get. Thanks for posting. Looks like the burr design has changed. I take it yours are the older style of burrs?
Yes. The new one has a "diamond cut" design that looks more like a ghost burr. Also the later production has a chrome like arm with a small dot that prevents it from retracting all the way down to the burr.
I now own 2 pairs of nmd s1s and none of them came in that fancy box. What could be wrong 😑?
I just bought two today and im thinking of returning them right away if the box is junk.
I just got one and no box, just random , snatched them for 50 on sale tho so not complaining
ruclips.net/user/shortsHl7BjTf7f5Y
This video was great. Keep up the good work.
where did you buy this from?
I bought it from an online furniture shop, it seems that there is not much discount now. With the Flo supporting up to 27 inch and 9 Kg, I'll suggest consider use the money for a bigger screen (32-34 inch) and without a monitor arm.
Would you still recommend Commandante for aeropress? prices are round about the same in germany. thanks for your review! I’d love to test this grinder for workflow, but unfortunately not possible… so i have trust the coffee experts on youtube :-)
It kinda depends on the beans and the flavour profile you prefer. Commandante typically gives a cleaner taste which imho works better with filters and lighter roasts, when I am aiming for a tea-like result. I prefer a more complex flavour and darker roasts with the Aeropress and therefore use the Etzinger more often. The difference isn't that obvious if you are not doing back to back tasting. For the current Etzinger, they have made a few improvements: the retractable arm has a small dot to prevent it from hitting the burr, the diameter of the bottom cup is reduced a bit to fit the Aeropress, and also there's a version called etz-U that removes the anti-static jig which won't have the retention problem from the etz-I (but will have a static problem when grinding Espresso-fine). Shipping into Germany plus tariff would probably make it still a lot more expensive than the Comandante. On the Comandante-side, the new C40 Mk4 has improved the top part where the handle couples the axle. I think from a practical point of view, I'd probably recommend a friend to go with Commandante first simply because a lot of tutorials and reviews quote Comandante clicks, so it's easier to replicate. As of 2023.02, electric grinders have become a lot cheaper with more options: Fellow Ode is around 270 EUR, Timemore is selling the Sculptor 078/064. Those are also worth considering too.
How do you get your espresso so creamy? If I`m doing it the coffee is just black and not creamy at all. I experimented with different heat settings and tamp pressure but it seems like something else is completely wrong! Could you give any advice on that? Cheers
Try using some freshly and dark roasted beans? For instance, 1-2 weeks after roasting, grind before brewing. Light roast could work but usually with less crema.
@@jimworksvlog Thank you so much for the feedback!
Excellent video thank you and I love the background music. The design is certainly B&O with incredible engineering and attention to details. The quality is second to none. Audio excellence. Like no one else.

Hey for these Should I stick to my ultraboost size ? I am same in all adidas and UBs which is uk7.
For me I stay with my UB size, I think it works.
I am a tts uk7 and went 6.5 uk and they fit perfectly, I can even say they are still not snug regardless of the 0.5 sizedown
Thank you for producing a very clear and detailed video✨ The Etzinger etz-l will be available in Japan next month, so this was very helpful to me in deciding whether or not to purchase it. Also, the background music is very good🎶
FYI, Etzinger now produces also a version without the anti-static funnel part called etz-U, which should have much fewer retention. Also they improved the design, so it's likely that the current model would fit the Aeropress better.
@@jimworksvlog I appreciate your kind advice! At the recent SCAJ in Tokyo, a slim type with the same capacity as the regular type was also introduced. It seems that two types(Regular & Slim)will be sold in Japan in two colors.(Black & Silver) The slim type is easy to grip and looks very good for me with small hands. I have not used the Aeropress recently, but if I were to buy one, I would probably go for the slim type with the anti-static as-jig👍️
his machine also has a downside on the winding part I will build it more beautiful
Just snagged the edition 4. I won the draw again on the confirm app. This time I went half size down. NMD s1 runs half size big.
What is the size of coffee powder, fine or medium, when using this 9barista
It's Espresso fine, but not so fine as Turkish coffee.
Dear Jim, my foot is 23.5cm, which size should I buy
They are somewhat long in size but they are very tight if you have wide feet
This is one of the best hand grinder review. You have gone through every detail and aspect from loading to general cleaning. Appreciate the footage for different brew methods and displaying the grounds
Nine video
I dont like the plastic filter you put on the pressed coffee. Would it be possible to replace it for a metal part? 9barista would be my choice for an analogue espresso maker. Which number of clicks did you use on your comandante for the 9barista? Which coffee /roast grade /g did you use?
I've seen people putting 53.5 mm metal puck screens instead, but you'll also need something like a rubber ring to fix that screen in place, as unlike a traditional espresso machine, the 9barista is essentially placing the portafilter upside-down, so there's a chance that the screen might fall down especially before the brewing. I use mostly 9 clicks, I use all kinds of roast grades with it and I do expect lighter roasts to get quite acidic. I sometimes switch to 10 for dark roasts as darker roasts are usually less dense, resulting in a thicker puck. I count zero click on my C40 when the burrs are fully locked, can't turn at all. At click 1, it won't spin freely, but it can go one full rotation without any locking. I know some people take that as zero click (the click when the handle can't spin or swing freely). The clicks are referred to standard C40, not red clix. If you do a lot of Espresso especially with lighter roasts, the longer Black Crank could be very helpful.
Hope for a reduction in terms of price one day ,250-230 euro...
Maybe check out Flair?
Wow what a creamy crema your coffee... Would you tell me what kind of coffee machine is that ?
It's the 9Barista, I also made a video about it before. It's a good machine for a very specific niche.

What a banger I don't see other phone videos and you nailed it, one mistake you didn't showcase night mode
Hi, thanks for your review! One question: With the mojo 2 out there, is still worthy buying a Mojo 1, maybe second hand one? Thank you
No, unless there's something specific about the Mojo, for example the looks, that really speaks to you. There are many more alternatives now on the market (AK, THX, Khadas, Luxury & Precision, Fiio) that the Mojo (1/2) is hitting a very small niche (maybe ppl who's into Chord's sound).
@@jimworksvlog thank you! Is there one alternative that you suggest more than others? I want to paire the DAC with an android smartphone
So is that the split clamp or the top mount clamp?
It's the split clamp. The top-mounted one is thicker.
