    Thanks for that great video. I have a 8 yr old German Shepherd thats been dealing with skin issue since about 2 yrs old.Some home remedies for yeast infections include garlic which i have read is poisonous to dogs.What your thoughts on adding garlic to dogs diet?

    • @HappyHealthyDogs
      @HappyHealthyDogs 5 дней назад

      Garlic is certainly not poisonous to dogs unless you give it in huge quantities. I recommend giving some fresh crushed garlic clove a few times per week added into the diet.Start with maybe half clove to 1 clove 3x per week as you have a bigger dog. Crush and leave for a couple of minutes before adding as this helps release the active Allicin..Warm regards Lyndall CV xxx

      thankyou!!! Yes Valerian is certainly an option but I have found that with some dogs (and this occurs in humans too) Valerian can actually have the opposite reaction to calming so it's worth trying and seeing how it suits your dog and you can always stop if it doesn't. I do find it's better to use it in combination with other nervine herbs. Warm regards Lyndall CV 🐕

    Loved this video! As you know, mine are on a raw diet. My senior corgi has had BAD allergies this year. Have had to give weekly medicated baths. I increased her plantain & marshmallow root extracts. Her skin irritation calmed down. Was adding fish oil 1x a day in her meals, but it started giving her diarrhea/loose stools. Took her off of it. I started adding 1/4 can of salmon in her PM meal that has the lowest sodium content (40mg per can) this evening. Not all of her fur has grown back on her neck from where she was shaved 2 months ago for a bad hot spot. Only where the hot spot healed is growing back hair. The rest is still bald, but at least not irritated anymore. Should I give her the salmon daily, or every other day? I know you mentioned that there’s a possibility her hair follicles were damaged & may not come back. She’ll be 14 in December. But for now, her skin is calm. I am unable to give her her weekly bath because I threw my back out over a week ago & still trying to recover. *shared*

    Recently been applying healing strategies from Lothar Ursinus’ book The Body Clock for CHF in my 12yr old 7lb Cheweeny female. Using TCM to locate and release old trauma stored in her solar plexus I’ve been testing herbal remedies to support her health journey. I also have been using red light both Infrared and Near Infrared on acupuncture sites that correspond to releasing her trauma. Beginning to witness some positive effects in both her energy and emotional state. I’m cautious when using adaptogens as they lower BP. Yet I’m fully aware of the high cortisol levels that has manifested her CHF ( left side) causing severe distress in her lungs. Holy Basil has been on my list to try. Ashwagandha is ok only during the day when her heart is strong enough to support the lower BP. Nights are extremely difficult. L Theanine / Rescue Remedy/Hemp work to a degree to keep her cortisol level low without lowering her BP. She’s been through many syncope episodes during the night. Frightening for her and me!!! Any suggestions or thoughts?

    • @HappyHealthyDogs
      @HappyHealthyDogs 21 день назад

      Yes that is tricky as most will lower BP but you could use very minimal drop doses to see - Holy basil will lower blood pressure so you need to be aware of that but for a dog of this size, I would be trying a single drop 1-2 times daily or even just once and then trying for a week on, week off. Not ideal but might help. warm regards, Lyndall CV

      Hi Terri sometimes this hair doesn't grow back in some dogs but it may just take more time. It may be linked to hormonal imbalance, poor circulation or nutrient deficiency. There may be possible hair follicle damage too. I would give it another couple of months and then maybe get a check x

Unless you think that would be too much in a 1 week period? Saturday & Sunday would be off days. When it comes to allergies, she’s been my problem child. She’ll be 14 in December. Giving her medicated baths 1x a week. Has to sit on her skin for at least 10 minutes before rinsing. Then apply the medicated leave in conditioner. I’m loosing my mind with her. It appears that dogs should be eating the same plants, herbs or supplements as us people should for these same type health problems. I figure that the herb 'cat's claw' would be another good one for this situation as well as other ailments they may have as well. And it doesn't taste bad. They would be happy to eat it in with their food. Yummy Yummy.

      No I would only give if you have a working dog or a dog in training for some event. As s supplement it puts stress on the kidneys if not needed and that dose is very high also. Warm regards Lyndall CV 🐕

    I looked at this video because my dog has Pemphigus, and I was trying to find information about it. He keeps breaking out in big ... they look like abraisions on his back and body - as if he has had a scrape, but in places where his fur would prevent that. Initially, his feet were in a bad way, but after medication from the vet, he appears in good health now, apart from the sores, but they don't seem to bother him. They are thin, flat scabs, and I'm having to keep him "clothed" to stop him licking them and making them worse. He's also losing his fur, and getting bare patches. He's on steroids (vet's orders), but I do give him milk and bits of cheese (because he shows that he loves it), legumes not so much, but he gets scraps left over from our dinner etc. which include pasta and such. I will certainbly be changing his diet as a result of this info. I wasn't familiar with "kibble", but I just looked it up to see what it is, and Google tells me "coarsely ground meal or grain typically used as animal feed. especially : small, dry pellets of processed food for pets (such as dogs and cats)". That suggests dog and cat biscuits. When I'm feeding our cat, I usually give the dog a little handful of cat biscuits as well. Could you say exactly what you mean by "kibble", please, and specifically what foods should be avoided? Superb video, by the way - and what seems like unbiassed information, not motivated by profit. If only more RUclipsrs would follow your example!

      Hi Michael in Australia we refer to dry dog 'biscuits' as kibble-any processed dogs foods- dry or wet nee to be avoided in autoimmunity along with gluten, dairy and preservatives. An antiinflammatory diet is the focus and using fresh natural foods is the best way. thankyou for your comments- I am only interested in the dog and no other reason!!!, Lyndall CV

      @@HappyHealthyDogs Many thanks for the reply. I usually put him to bed with a "tooth brush" - a Pedigree Dentastix - but now, I'm a bit unsure of the wisdom of that. They definitely help to keep his teeth clean, but the packet doesn't say what's in them. They look moulded, so they're definitely processed, but gluten etc - I just don't know.

We are on day 4 of predisone to get the inflammation under control and I am seeing good initial results with inflammation/swelling in the joints. I have a lot to tackle as this came on quickly and unexpectedly. Have you seen benefit of acupuncture in IMPA?

    Good morning-I have a Rhodesian that has had a cough for a month and some reverse sneezing when eating or drinking-(at her worse). I have had her to the vet /vets and $7000 later her body has been over-run with 4 rounds of antibiotics-steroids, anti parasitics and with very little relief. I am very much into the natural remedies for my pets but feared it was her heart and here we are still with no answers but to give her an inhaler. I have been reading about mullein and the natural herbs and would like to treat my baby. I have mullein leaf and marshmallow root to make a hot/cold fusion- what do you recommend as a dosing and how often?

      @HappyHealthyDogs 3 месяца назад

      Hi Kelly if this is an infusion start with a dessertspoon of each liquid herb daily amd see how this goes but you might need to double this dose for at least 8 weeks. Consider Elecampane and Hawthorn plus additional vitamin C with flavonoids too. Warm regards Lyndall CV 🐕

    Hi 👋 it's Calvin Napier from the USA. I have a 14 lb Rat Terrier 14 yrs old. I adopted Robbie about 2 yrs ago he was in terrible condition very overweight could barely walk. From what we understand he was physically abused. When he stands his fronts legs would often shake and now he has developed seizures. Very strange he will sleep peacefully through the night and when we get up in the morning to take him out to pee he comes back in to have a seizure. My vet wants only to put him on conventional meds. I'm giving you a list of what I'm doing naturally that doesn't seem to be working. Any thoughts of what else I need to do? 1. Small Batch raw dog food 88% pork, organ and bone 10% vegetables 2% natural supplements 2. Cornbread CBD oil for dogs 750mg 0.5 THC. 25ml 4 times a day. On a little bit of peanut butter. 3. Nature's Way MCT Oil. 1/2 teaspoon in morning, 1/2 teaspoon evening. 4. Nutiva Hempseed oil. 1/2 teaspoon morning, 1/2 teaspoon evening. 5. Dog Greens plant based vitamins and minerals. 1/2 teaspoon morning, 1/2 teaspoon evening. 6. Fera Pet Organics probiotics and prebiotics. 1/4 teaspoon in morning. 7. Super Snouts green lipped mussels 1/8 teaspoon evening 8. No vaccines since I've had him 9. No chemical flea and tick meds. 10. Colostrum 1/4 teaspoon morning
