I guess Piccolo forgot that Vegeta officially became a good guy in the Buu Saga when Porunga brought him back

To be fair when they wished back all of Buu’s victims they specifically said to revive just the good ones. Goku even called Vegeta out on technically being a good guy as per the wish. As a side note, the societal and economic climate of the Dragon Ball world must be awful. After Buu there should only be good people inhabiting Earth yet Krillin can still find steady employment as a crook busting cop, Goten and Trunks can beat up thugs as superheroes, and 17 can be a poacher punching park ranger. Like it’s actually tragic that so many people have turned to a life of crime when canonically all of them were originally good hearted individuals just a few years ago.

Everything in this arc was so much better in the movie. In this scene, it's Buu that judges Vegeta, not Piccolo. Buu: "Even angry guy?" Vegeta: "Oh, like you can judge me!"
