NS Sending Ballast Cars Over the Hump at Bellevue
Просмотров 1044 месяца назад
It's a sunny day in March and NS is sending side-dump gravel cars down the hump. It's a full ride from one end of Bellevue Yard to the other, so let's follow along.

Scrapped BC Barns at LTEX

"BC Barns" are the nickname of the unique C40-8M locomotives used in Canada by BC Rail and CN. Also called "Draper Tapers" these engines were fan favorites, but have sadly met the axe at LTEX.

NS 6963

This one's a touch more... experimental. It's just a static shot of NS 6963 idling in Bellevue yard on train L11. Anyone like the idea of slow tv? Or perhaps motionless pictures? Let me know in the comments.

NS put a train on the ground just before the Bellevue yard hump, so they worked overtime to get it cleared away. Of course, they just shoved trains right by it in the meantime

Wheeling & Lake Erie light power

Yeah this video kinda sucks. I didn't have time to pull out my tripod and I was breathing right into the microphone. I'm only uploading this so I can share it on discord. If you're at all interested in what was going on, the afternoon train into Norwalk, headed by WE 7011/7025 didn't have enough power to clear Hartland Hill. So they ran ran light up the line to Hartland yard, grabbed tunnel mot...

I work here!!!
What a great video .... Subscribed!!!! 👍
That was cool!!! 😳
I had no idea that complex was that large.
0:47 haa haa the Trump train ain’t going nowhere! It is parked in for permanent removal of parts. Hemmed in by the scrap line I hope!
I'm not Fuwawæh i'm Mococœh.
We need battery powered locomotives. Glad to see diesels be gone
Battery powered locomotives have no future in North America, they've proven extremely unreliable and uneconomic. They are also far more expensive to operate, and cause more harm to the environment than any modern Diesel locomotive. A more realistic zero emissions locomotive would be a hydrogen fuel cell locomotive. These have proven themselves, and CPKC already has 3 in regular service, with several more being built.
@@thompsonriverrailfan I disagree.
@@pablohernandez9405 how can you disagree with proven scientific facts? Like it or not, diesel locomotives aren’t going anywhere soon, and bitching about them in a RUclips comment section certainly won’t help anything.
Battery powered does not work, no way in hell they can pull 15,000 tons, climate crisis is a scam bud
@@thompsonriverrailfan DIESELS FUR LIFE!!!! 😁
how are they being moved?
gravity (no joke)
Awesome video! How often do you railfan there? I went up there last week. What a fantastic place it is to railfan at!
Could watch this all day long :)
Many a time just passing by and stopped at a crossings over the years unknowingly seeing these scraps
that's sad
This is interesting, thanks.
would be cool to see more LTEX footage
Hump yaed
Muito top este video
Maybe more locos here, than anyplace in the country? Sad to see that all these are out of work. Thanks to the economy and PSR. Shows maybe that RR's over- bought locos.
Não imaginava que isso existia ❤❤
great perspective! its all about gravity (lol)
love my swithers and slugs and they got tons of them
i know where his location is in mcdonald ohio andf i havent been too this 1 which is about a hour from this 1
I wish I could fly like that
Are they all headed for scrap? I would assume those 4 axle GP-38-2's rebuilt would be in high demand since 4 axle's are no longer manufactured.
bro has used simcity 4 music I love it
why not hopper cars with bottom shoots or bottom hatches?
I thought I was going to see my car. Must have been on a Saturday. 🍺🍺
As impressive as that rail-car-drop-it rollercoaster is, i ask myself: why? It seems slow, expensive, intensive in care, very special an complicated and not that cheap to run vs the thing, they have right next to it with a simple conveyoer-belt....?
If Norfolk Southern wants Zero emissions Switching they might as well send Yard staff and Engineers to these European Hump Yards Switzerland Zürich Limmattal and Austria Salzburg Gnigl Vienna Kledering Villach South since they use an electric switching locomotive
What do those cars that failed to couple to the autoracks haul? I've never seen that style of covered container.
My dad would take us to the hump at Norris Yard.
Cool
11:53 is why you have trim jobs. The knuckle on the spine was open, but the drawbar was not straight on the multi-level (autorack), So they "bypassed". When the track is ready to be gathered up and built into a outbound train a trim job will go and make sure the whole track is together, and fix any "butted" (both knuckles closed) or "bypassed" (seen here) couplings.
Nice video,thanks for sharing😊
That's one neat mechanism alright!
Like a Cedar Point ride !😀
Great video :) at 7:07 I spy former Pan Am Railways engines MEC 619 SD40M-2. MEC 604 SD40-2 MEC 600 SD40-2 MEC 606 SD40-2 Snoot nose. For those curious Pan Am sold the following MEC locos to LTEX back when they were still here. MEC 613 MEC 610 MEC 608 MEC 617 MEC 618 MEC 619 MEC 600 MEC 604 MEC 606
Awesome video! I try to go out there a couple times a year. It’s one of my favorite spots to railfan at. How often do you railfan there?
Larry sure owns alot of locomotives!
Love seeing the freighters getting loaded
659 locomotives?😙
Where is the ship going once loaded ?
Where's the bum boat?
Great video. Some narration would be nice for those of use that are interested in the activities outside the cars being dumped.👍🏻
How do they get the coal out of the ship?
blink and you'll miss it, but at 1:49 in the left upper corner, you'll see the previous car returning empty...
This doesn't much different than the first video
It’s also really ironic that the penn central is in the background 😂😂
