I simply love sci-fi and especially spaceships games, but the problem with Eve isn't the learning curve, it's the fact that there are so many jerks playing it and no protection for new players, who will lose everything they own several times during the free trial and quit. I know because I've tried it three times and it's always the same. The last time, I was 3 days into a trial, mining with my Venture in 1.0 space and was ganked by another player. Yes, it happens, but they lose a lot of new players this way. This is why, even with the high sub rates, the game isn't as popular as many others. It was ranked 6th place among MMO's in revenue in 2013 behind Lord of the Rings, Star Wars The Old Republic, Tera Online, Lineage (very old), and of course, WoW. It needs some sort of protection from players in the first 3-4 weeks so they can get their feet wet. Aside from this, the mission system is very poorly constructed. The steps you need to accomplish are literally backwards. It shows yellow circles for things you've done already and green check marks for what still needs doing. It's pretty messed up. That's why the "learning curve" is high; It's an illogical system. There are also the bugs which will cause you to lose ships. I was destroyed once while docked in a station. Yes, docked! Was looking at my ship in the hangar when a siren began and a popup telling me I was being attacked. When I undocked, I was in a pod. I submitted a ticket but they refused to compensate me. There is also a corporation that uses extortion to prevent players from mining. You either pay them a lot of ISK or they won't allow you to mine. Again, the company will do nothing about it. There is really nothing against the rules in this game. There is also a lot of bot mining going on.

70,000..looks like the total amount that actually play the game. Pretty pathetic since the game has been around since..2006? This game is for the PVP eilite. Either way looks boring as hell. I saw a battle, the ships just floated there shooting..whoa. So Impressive.

I have this game and someone is willing to pay for my membership! I am really new (2 days) and have almost no idea what to do... does this game consume an enormous amount of time, because i have many many other obligations and i wanted to know if it was worth to have someone pay for me.

When i first played EVE which was the trial run, i found the game to actually be really easy to understand.. and i was 13.. (Just felt like saying that for no reason. XD)

1 point of advice to the new players!!! that rifter fitting is for pvp (player vs player)not for pve (missions and stuff) dont know why the maker made that mistake but iff ur running missions shield or armor tank. dont mix that. and dont use a warp scrambler u dont need it in missions. Gl to al new players of new eden.

Thanks you so much for this video! I have started and quit EVE three times in the last three years and all becuase I found the learning curve too ridiculous for the amount of time I had to play it. I have always wanted to play this game seriously, and with this I have a better understanding of it than I have ever had. I am going to download and try it again. Thanks man! Oh and I enjoyed the volume level too it was easy to follow and stay focused on your main points. Thanks again!

I tried the trial twice, about a year apart - couldn't figure the damn game out. Uninstalled it twice. 4yrs after my last try, I'm thinking about it again... If they REALLY wanted people to stay with it they should have noobs start off with like only *5%* of the stuff available to them. Let people start with a small game then have new portions/abilities/whatever open up as they move along. Too much crap all at once. Great for kids who don't have jobs/families, or adults with no lives.

Man this game is so awesome I just wish it would be free to play with micro-transactions. I'd be willing to buy items for customization I just can't get worth out of my subscription in these games because I don't have that kind of time.

Nice tutorial, a few things are incorrect though, you cannot tank concord for example lmao, suicide ganking is just killing people before they get there. also there is NO protection in lowsec, people just lose security status for attacking people but that never stops them.
