interesting podcast and thank you to all those on the ground trying to make sense and find solutions to these detrimental issues. ah yes definitely did feel the brunt of things went on for decades, racism was rife profiling children as young as 4 was the norm which is extremely damaging but always challenge any authority that get involved and are bias.

The pakistani community is the biggest problem because a lot of the policies and what we hear in the UK media has really been shaped by them This is the reason why we need to have voices from different Muslim ethnic communities.

It's interesting when a person becomes a member of an organization that claims to represent a section of society, like Christians, Muslims, and Jews, who doesn't follow the official propaganda line of the state. They become a pariah. And of course they would be attacked, because unless you follow state policy, well, of course, what are they to do with you? Because you cannot represent anything outside of the purview of mainstream media. The reality is, there is no freedom. There are only herding stories. And these stories control all the narratives of the people inside society. People, think about it. Look at what happened with the riots in the UK. These people, these poor, white, working class and non-working class people, were radicalized by whom? Tommy Robinson. A Zionist agent. The Zionists control American politics, they control British politics, they control European politics as a whole. Why are we not talking about the elephant in the room? The fact of the matter is, if you are a Muslim today, and you try to organize collectively and represent the true position of Muslim communities, well, that makes you a terrorist. Because, God forbid, people actually figure out Muslims are theist and wish to serve a higher being. These Palestine protests have been going on for a year, what difference have we made? Nothing. The government has continued to support, materially, and in every means possible, the genocide of Palestinian peoples. The other, brown people, as Edward Said said, there is no clash of civilizations, because the West is not civilized. And that is a fundamental error. Because we have run on the assumption that they are, and they have a rule of law. They do not. The Crusades, slavery, colonialism, it was Britain, Germany, France, Spain, and the Dutch. Yeah, white people. I said it. How do you like them apples? You need to know the rules of the game you are playing or fail on the first level and repeat the process. Wake up, Fanon.

If the value of a car sold for cash is £10k but the sale price on finance is £15k and the financer is buying the car at £10k on the basis that you will pay £15k then how can that £5k be anything but interest. Of course if the financer buys the car at its own risk and then sells for £10k cash or 15k on finance then this is a different scenario that a scholar can comment on.

Islamic Banking wants to have global stage. Then the first step will be to speak in the language understood by the world of banking and commerce. Isolating itself with terminologies and still demanding global attention is never going to happen. Whatever may be reasons for it- Religious identity / Petro dollars/ Restricting Petro dollars within Islamic Community. An economic system centred around assets and deriving its income from it will be more stable than to go into future We need a stable world. Stable economic system. Stable real asset; prices - Land and Commodities- Both Hard and Soft. A mechanism to preserve at least for few years to remove supply shocks and price stability. What we need is solutions. Fool proof solutions. Not wishful thinking. Every branch of science has progressed exponentially excepting economics which is stagnating trying to gain value with data and inferences from sample models. We need a comprehensive solution in this globally integrated world. I’m an individual that doesn’t believe investing in the stock market is halal. As businesses that have interest bearing debt are considered halal up to a certain point. Objectively it’s haram. You can’t justify necessity either as investing stock market ain’t a necessity. There’s hardly any real innovation which is so disappointing.

Most Muslims that I know, especially reverts, really dislike the topic of money or generally Dunya success - not to mention financial literacy. Do you have any methods for challenging that kind of thinking? I guess there's a healthy balance, I just can't seem to figure out where it is.

@jantheslovakmuslim really interesting point raised! Personally I always think of the very first Muslims and how many of them were fantastic business people. From Khadija RA to Abu Bakr RA, many of them would have been multi millionaires by todays standards. The greater their wealth, the greater the change for good they could make in this world. My favourite example is the story of the first Waqf formed by an investment into a well in Medina by Uthman ibn Affan- and how that investment still survives 1,400 years later and funds much of the development in Makkah (I wrote a little summary here: www.linkedin.com/posts/areeb-siddiqui-01b06144_kestrl-islamicfinance-islamicbanking-activity-7028278243484954624-P5k2?) Thank you for your comment. As Muslims, we adhere to a specific financial ideology that emphasises avoiding interest and other practices considered unethical; this can pose challenges when it comes to careers, savings, and above all, investing. The aim of this podcast is to highlight individuals who have excelled in their respective fields, thereby educating the next generation and demonstrating the possibilities available within these ethical constraints. So, we used 'Muslim' in the title to reach not just your attention, but also to resonate with the two billion people globally who share these financial principles.
