I have a ford 450 2000 7.3 and I'm making some changes, I work with car transport and I suffer a little when resuming speeds in florida georgia twice a week, i thought of putting the kc 300x but when i saw this adaptation i was inspired, as it was the adaptation in relation to space, it was great
In my opinion the kc turbo is a better upgrade they also offer a vgt but more power gains than a 6.0 turbo bigger compressor wheel and bigger exhaust housing/wheel
Do you happen to know who the creator of this Vid was?? I'd like to get ahold of him to see what all is entailed in accomplishing this. Have an 01 7.3 and would love to do this!!!
ETM299 exactly my point the first 6.0 i seen i was talking to a buddy of mine and my other friend just showed up from the dealer and bumped me with the truck while i was standing there never even heard it pulling up
the veins in that turbo close up giving it near max boost at idle to prevent lag and improve low end throttle response then under load they open up preventing overboost and thats when the 6.0s bark
your clueless vk7 lol. I have a 2003.5 turbo and it has more blades on the exhaust wheel resulting in that fucking wailing. they changed it for 2004 to 07 so it was quiet. before I took the turbo off you could hear it screaming a block away on high idle
@Robert Ellion variable geometry means more power at lower rpm. 7.3 turbo is non vgt while the 6.0 turbo is vgt. So you don't stomp on the pedal and go nowhere like you do with the stock 7.3 turbocharger. Just getting a 6.0 turbo to work with the 7.3 is a huge improvement to it. And 6.0s push 20psi of boost so it's like the same amount of boost at max pressure but the 6.0 turbo let's you get more power right away. Plus it sounds like a jet engine. So plenty of reason.
Pretty sure the veins in a 6.0 turbo change angles and I thought the FICM controls that???? may be wrong but just don't see how that would be a working turbo.
FICM is an acronym for Fuel Injection Control Module. the vanes on the 6.0 turbo change position via the Variable Geometry Turbo Actuator, which is electronically controlled by the PCM.
Colby Bouma even then duramax in the 01 through 04 had a vane controller you could buy to run the newer lly turbos and the vane controller would work but even then wtf would you do it. You can run more boost with a kc turbo than this 6.0 turbo
@@tamsenjustice8183 because vgt is far superior to a fix geometry turbo, unless you're drag racing or sled pulling, it will build boost right off of idle.
...I mean the way it looks is retarded, it sounds pretty good, but the way it exits, and the size of the pipe is idiotic in my opinion. It's a bad ass truck otherwise. And by the way, I do like the sound of a turbo spooling, just not out of a ridiculous pipe exiting in the stock location.
How did you do this? Lift of parts?
Beautiful, like a jet engine taking off. Music to my ears.
How are you controlling the vanes?
looking for the 8 hole rims that's on the 2 tone truck, any one know where to find them?
The bed shell to are ugly in my opinion

Doesn't sound like it's working correctly
Can you get a vid that isn’t on a potato 🥔?
There's actually a vgt housing that you can put on a 7.3 turbo if you have a t4 kit
Where did you get the prerunner front bumper on the white truck?
I just have a really quick question how do you control the vgts Will you share that info please I just that mine but having trouble controlling that
How hard is this swap? What all do I need to make it work? Is it reliable?
Jus blow a whistle out ur window. Cuz ur truck not moving, jus screaming.
How did you get turbo to work
Sounds like some 80s sci fi movie effect
That damn thing don't sound right seems like it would get annoying real fast and the turbos way to loud
This was film with a potato... Nice setup
How can i learn this power
I wish this dude would post more videos
Why'd you do this? For noise?
Vgt style turbos spool faster.
Dumb video
Where you get the lighted grab handles from on white truck/
More videos pls
Anymore videos on this truck and did u and who did your tunes to get this turbo to work right
How did you get the turbo actuator to work?
Toggle switch only way I've seen theres other vids that show it
Star Wars exhaust, check
That pipe is way too small for that turbo
Anyone know where to find this feller? How does one wire the 6.0 turbo setup to work with the obs tps sensor?
ARaw Braccili theyres an old thread on powerstroke.org that he has some info in but not very in depth. The thread was from 2009.
Sounds like shit
more like sore akk....
Slow down cowboy, almost broke 25 mph
The turbo is the ONLY good thing that the 6.0 had going for it!!!!
No, they are junk too, but sound amazing.
so how do you control the vvt?
Vgt....variable geometry turbo
@@tommys2979 vvt..... variable vain turbo, same thing
punch it pussy
sounds like that turbo is confused.
it does LOL

its pretty easy buy a 6L turbo then do everything yourself. all has to be custom done as the auto industry tends to rape customers for "custom" parts
turbo should not be that loud unless you are under extreme load
That's what a 6.0 sounds like
Not that much. They whistle like a bitch but this thing is spooling with almost no throttle

where did you get your turbo ? thats the best sound of a 7.3 ive heard
Its off a 6.0 there's no reason to do this
@@robertellion1873 Plenty of reasons to do so

thats what the 6.0l SP sounds like
A gay jet. Lmao 😅
More info please
its like a cop sirens mix with star wars :O sounds awesome.
...idiotic exhaust
agreed
how exactly is that idiotic?
don't like the sound of a turbo i guess.

Well how the NVT is controlled with oil pressure i can see how this is possable with a little tuning and some work! someone make a kit for this!!!!
Can you do a video of how you put the 6.0 turbo on the 7.3 and what all it took
ever get any info want to do this

i wish this was my truck so i can answer your question BUT its not ;/
all i read was he programmed some homemade computer for turbo. im not sure about the pedestal.
how did he make the vgt work so the blades move and everything and what does he have for the pedestal? great video btw
