Berlin 2023! Calamite started working on a jazz-influenced, psychedelic sound with French and English lyrics. Based on songs of Paul Lapp on synths and electric bass and the producing skills of Leon Griese on drums, the music is characterised by singer Mathilde Vendramin and Helena Montag on flute with various effect pedals and backing vocals.
After their first release "demo tape EP" on Bandcamp in May 2024, the second EP "basement session" followed in July 2024 on all streaming platforms. They are currently working on their first album, which will be released on vinyl by Signal Source Music soon.
Calamite is blending the diverse backgrounds of its four members to create a unique and captivating sound. Their music seamlessly fuses elements of jazz sophistication, classical impressions, funk’s strong grooves, and the raw energy of rock. This eclectic mix results in songs that are both innovative and deeply engaging, taking listeners on a special musical journey.

You guys are talented and have an interesting sound...a sort of Mitski meets Siouxsie meets Radiohead. My only thought would be to define a bit more what you want to be as a band...a psych jam group or a bit more song structure. Gets a little muddled, like consciousness coming and going. But again, is a really nice sound.
