      I was trying to catch him up, but he had stronger watts than me. So i had no choice but to recover ASAP and rejoin the pack. I think I looked into the pre stats to0 much hence my reaction to go with him. The winner didn't join the race till late, so his stats weren't on ZP. Still happy with the result though.

    Podium, baby! Nice one Tony, perseverance pays off! What happened with the Anvil you had over Libby? Sure would’ve been good for the descent after 23rd Street

    • @tonylo6013
      @tonylo6013 Год назад

      I got rid of it. On my first attempt, I had an anvil, and went straight to the front before Libby. I got blown away by the drafters. So after that, I decided anvil for this is no use. Best to stay in the pack and draft up the hill as the momentum carries you up.

  • @ZwiftyZwifter
    @ZwiftyZwifter Год назад

    Nice race Tony! Pretty much perfect positioning all the way. But dodgy on Libby but you made it, so poor anvil use from your opponents helped. I’d just try to get your power surges in synch with the really high gradient parts. Good stuff.

    • @tonylo6013
      @tonylo6013 Год назад

      I do get in the drops, but I'm already above threshold for this whole race. Also I cannot generate as much power as these guys. Scano was doing 13kw in the last 150m. I'm sure there's a technique to sprinting to generate more watts. I'm all ears.

    • @ZwiftyZwifter
      @ZwiftyZwifter Год назад

      @@tonylo6013 it looks as though your fit files don’t get transmitted to Zwift for some reason, so your power profile may not fully reflect your power, but if you’re already in the drops, that’s half of what I know. The other half is getting your body into the motion. Applying a pull to counterbalance the pedal strokes, like a quick transfer of weight on every revolution.

      @@ZwiftyZwifter my technique is to get the cadence at a high speed before the sprint point, and then smash it into a few gears harder. Then if I see a heavy weight coming behing, I have to go easier gear and spin as fast as I can to keep some level of watts to keep the pace up. Difficult to explain. Lol. I notice a lot of the pros or faster guys on RUclips have low cadence when following the draft. I try to do this also, but I end up with about 80-90 to keep up with the pack. This is another technique I'm trying to figure out. It would save me a lot of energy.

    Nice break on Alpe Du Tempus, pack just too big to break it up much, but I certainly felt it. Love how you sat in on the crucial run-in 1.7 to 0.7km to go. No risk and then moved up nicely. Maybe you could’ve saved a bit more by hanging out with me the back more often, and waited a second or two before hitting the sprint (though it was a late sprint from us all already, to be fair), though at least when you hit the front you fully committed. Nothing worse than hesitating when on the front, you don’t get two bites very often. Nice racing with you!
