Battle Drills is still my favourite of all of Shane's books thus far. And Shane was kind enough to suggest that I go ahead with my military SF set in New Zealand. I'm 20,000 words in now.

Kate Beckinsale’s “Selene” is my quintessential vampire. She is who I base all my vampires and slayers after.
Bradley Fighting Vehicle. I was in the Army, Armored Cav, and was in a until for six months that had Bradleys. I got to be the gunner for one exercise at Fort Hunter Ligget, then was shipped off to Germany. Never got to take it out on gunnery practice.
Spent a little time at Hunter Ligget for training, not a fun base! LOL
