Great video, thanks for all the tips. Are you recording this video in Southwood at Tallahassee Fl.?
No we are not
hi . i really enjoyed your vid. i recently moved to bsl and i love it. tonite i find myself in nola for a few days and miss it already, thats how i came across your vid. bsl is such a hidden treasure.... so close to nola yet worlds apart. just felt like holler' n.... take care y'all
Thanks for the comment! That’s awesome. Glad you like it there. Yeah it’s a fun spot for sure!
How many days would you need there on average?
Depends on your hiking level and how much you’d want to accomplish. If you are looking to do 2-3 hikes. I’d say 2 days tops. If you really wanna explore, then 3-4.
What an amazing video for a first timer with fam coming over. Sorry in advance, couldn’t find anything on this but I am currently trying to buy the 2024 American the Beautiful Annual Pass. My trip is in 2 days so I won’t receive the pass in time as it can take up to 2 weeks according to the website. Is my only option to buy it at the Visitors Center?
I would definitely ask if they have them but there’s a good chance that they won’t have them and it will only be general admission
Fleishman is not charming, close to nothing there.
Yeah I get your point. When you come from a city that has everything, there is something special about it just being a town with very little to do but enjoy the snow and the outdoors.
A couple comments: 1. It's Scouts Lookout (not Landing). 2. I do not recommend telling everyone to get there early. Parking the visitor center is a shit show because everyone is trying to be first. This park does not have the capacity for it's usage. You can't possibly go anywhere before the in-park shuttles start, so encouraging everyone to get there earlier just leads to overcrowding in the mornings. If everyone staggered their visits, everyone would benefit. 3. I wore crocs and purchased neoprene scuba socks on amazon and it was perfect for the narrows. Don't pay $50 to rent gear. Those boots are overkill and you are paying 35-50% of the retail price for a 1-day rental. The crocs were just enough grip to feel the flooring ("best description is walking on bowling balls in a river with small pebbles traveling down"). So you need enough traction to walk. The socks are a must due to the water being cold and small pebbles that can hit you. Even if you overpay for rental boots, you will get pebbles inside and I think it's just gross to share old neoprene socks when you can buy your own pair for <$10 on amazon beforehand. Also, most people won't even need to hike it for hours, you can be in and out in 15-30 minutes, get a feel for it, take some pics for your social media, and be out. Continuing upstream is 99% the same as the beginning. No need to get to neck deep water. 4. Take a small sack or waterproof bag and bring your dry hiking shoes and a pair of clean dry socks to change into afterwards and enjoy another trail in the park. Otherwise, being wet is going to lead to blisters on later hikes. I think being prepared before you go is the biggest part of the narrows. 5. I wish I could tell everyone to boycott the Angel's Landing lottery reservation system. So please don't sign up if you don't intend to go. If you don't win, do a chargeback on your credit card for Booz Allen Hamilton running an illegal lottery system!
Love the feedback! Things definitely change overtime and I do appreciate you saying to stagger the times people arrive. I was just stating what worked best for us. Regardless of this video, the early bird always gets the worm. I was just encouraging people to take advantage of the time because the crowds will come.
There is a lottery now in order to hike Angels Landing
Oh wow really? How’s that work?
You have to register 1 day or 2 days before, and if you are lucky, you get selected to be able to hike it. It's on the rec.gov page.
Going to the true summit of Mt Storm King might be one of the hardest, not hiking only though.
I believe you. Yes it is intense
A fitted sheet is my beach blanket. Upside down, place items in the corners to hold in place. It shakes out like a charm.😊
That’s a great idea!
Several pieces of 8 were found when a wall crumbled inside the wall last year
That’s interesting!
Thank you so much for your great video. planning a trip to visit there. which month did you go? thank you. you mentioned smoke, was there a wild fire ?
I don’t think there was a fire if I remember correctly. It was just intense fog. We went is August
40 bucks per person?
Yeah
Yes, there is kayak reynolds and if i'm not mistaken. There's also paddle Boarding reynolds, and if i'm not mistaken small Sailboat rentals
That’s great insight. Thanks!
Ill let you know when I find the lines.
Ok thanks
Wow !!!!!!!!!! The waterfalls are beautiful. Thanks for the video Lovely lady. I would sure like to visit that place. But Oregon is a long way from the East coast.
It’s worth the journey. Oregon is a beautiful state. I really think you’d enjoy it. Just a plane ticket away
@@MilletsGo Your are right. And one of my best friends lives Near Eugene.
Looks like a very nice place to ski.
It really is. Snow was fantastic. The area is a winter wonderland for sure
I watch many waterfalls. U make one with waterfalls in the video. I will sure watch it also. I noticed you have more videos. I will try to watch them soon.
Oh thanks! If you like waterfalls, then you will enjoy our Sol Duc Falls video. That’s a beautiful waterfall. And we got a great drone shot of it
@@MilletsGo What is your first name. I wanted to send your blueberry video to one of my friends who owns a Blueberry farm in Oregon. But I can just say milletsgo.
I have not been to Red Bluff but this is the 5th video I have seen of it. The first was on a program called Mississippi Roads. But this is my favorite of the 5 videos. Pearl River looked the same but all the people in the video seemed so nice. The Lovely Sweet girls did great at telling about Red Bluff. I give you guys a 5 star rating for the video. Thanks so much for the video. 🙂👍👍👍👍
Thank you so much! Really glad to hear you enjoyed it. The feedback is truly appreciated.
Sunscreen gives you cancer. The sun cannot, we’ve been lied to. Make your own sunscreen with oils and zinc oxide like the ancient Egyptians or just use coconut oil as it has a natural fps. Stay healthy 🤙
Thanks for the tip! Healthy is the way to go
I have this. I use it camping with 4 poles and ground screws. It is easy to set up. I have taken it to the outer banks of North Carolina several times. I have never allowed it to stay up. It does not stand up in any amount of wind. For the beach, I am not happy with it. If there is any wind at all beyond a breeze, it is like fighting an octopus.
Yes the wind can be an issue. I am happy that if the wind “picks it up” it just falls instead of becoming a projectile
Great info, very different from the last time I went wow! I get that I need a shuttle to get to the park visitor center, and then ride a shuttle back and forth within the park. Is that what you're describing or were you saying some other type of approach?
So I will say the shuttle system has changed since this was filmed so make sure to do a bit more research. But I don’t think it’s changed its route, but the availability.
Idk how it started off with a what's in my bag to a whole tent😅
It’s a big bag 😉
Amazing!
this dumb bitch just said this is so much easier than setting up a umbrella
I’m going to Panama beach in 2 days! So EXCITED!!!
That’s exciting. Have fun!
Thank you for all the tips!
You’re welcome!!!
A battery powered fan is nice to have too 😊
That’s a great point. Especially in this heat
Why is water so dirty..brown
This is full of useful information, so thank you for that. But the use of “whenever” as a substitute for “when” is so distracting. I think it’s a regional thing because I hear it from a lot of people from the south and it seems like a recent thing. I don’t remember ever hearing it being used that way before about 10 years ago. “Whenever” means “each time,” as in “whenever I get up early, I’m tired in the afternoon.” Or, “whenever I forget to rent water boots, my feet get really cold.” Sorry for the grammar police rant, and thank you again for all the great tips!
Glad you enjoyed the video. And no worries. Whenever I get feedback, I take it in stride!
Interesting observation. There may be some regional aspect to the “whenever” thing, but I also suspect it’s an unintended way of adding emphasis or perhaps a filler. Another example that may fit and is definitely not regional (because it’s ubiquitous now in media) is using “literally” to emphasize non literal ideas. I come from the heavily French part of the Deep South. We have all sorts of different sayings that derive from French to English translations a well as local ways of expressing things. Example: we’ll say “come see” when we want someone to approach us for conversation even if we aren’t going to show them something visible. My mom is a retired English teacher of about 50 years, so these things have stood out as interesting especially because we grew up in the middle of it and have many of the same habits ourselves. A corollary to this, my wife and I have seven children ages 1-14. We are in 2024 and I’ll hear them refer to the refrigerator sometimes as the “ice box” because we did growing up because my mom’s family did bc they LITERALLY had an ice box that was eventually replaced by an electric fridge once available a few years after WWII. OK enough of that. We’ve been to Zion twice since 2022 and it was incredible.
Where is that place?
Neptune Beach
From where you bought the tent

@@MilletsGo Thank you, but unfortunately its not available to get delivered in India
Oh I’m so sorry
I literally went there just a few months ago! Beautiful place 🧡
Awesome. Yeah so pretty. We’ve been twice because it’s so beautiful in Washington
Yes!! All of the essentials! I don’t know how I did it, but I nearly forgot sunscreen 🤦♀️
Yeah it’s easy to do. Honestly, with everything needed for the beach you are bound to forget something
Such a lovely hike friend, your storytelling is captivating! 👏
Wow thank you so much!
I walked up it backwards.
Oh my. Really? That’s impressive!
Welcome back!!
Thanks! Always glad to know you are watching!!!
We were at Washington Oaks Beach today and there were no rocks. What happened to the rocks?
Not sure. Most have gotten rid of them
Screw Zion. Its like going to Disney land. I enjoyed the surrounding area but the valley and the shuttle nonsense is not for me. We could not find any parking for our trailer in the town near by. Do yourself a favor and just do a hike in the surrounding area off Kolob drive.
Yeah Zion is for everyone. Sorry you had a bad experience. Thanks for watching anyway!
Hands down you might have saved our trip. I had no idea about any of this stuff! And for people who are like “sounds like you didn’t plan well enough.” Some of us don’t live in places with popular national parks and/or love sporadic trips. (I’m from Texas and I don't even think there was even 1 car in front of us to get into Palo Duro National Park during spring break.) We decided a week before our time to hit the road we were going to make a 20-hour drive to Zion.
Love this comment! This is exactly why we made this video. So glad to hear this is helpful! Have a great trip.
Good information. Thanks for sharing
You’re welcome
I am preparing a visit. Seems like renting the equipment to go into the narrows seems the most expensive part of the whole trip. (4 persons )
Yeah it can be. There is no requirement to use that gear but I think not doing so can be regrettable. It’s so cold in that water and there is no relief from walking through it
No more shuttle passes now 2024
Yes, thanks for letting us know. Thanks for watching
I live here for about 15 years(all my life) glad you loved it
Thanks! Yes it was fun
Good practical advice
Thanks! And thanks for watching
Haha nothing's waterproof! I rented the same gear and my feet were swamped and wrinkled for the rest of the night. Definitely need a thick wood walking stick. If you have your own trek poles they will probably not be as sturdy as the wooden walking stick they rent you.
Yeah the sticks you rent are sealed to the water doesn’t rot them so they last a lot longer.
Hi, when did you go to Zion? Was it peak season? We're staying in the Watchman campground April 15th and 16th and thinking we can beat the majority of the crowds since we're right next to the shuttles, and it's not peak season yet.
We were in peak season. So yes I think you’ll have a better experience with fewer crowds, but still expect people to be there
Thank you a lot for all this information, it will be very usefull to me ;)
You’re welcome
A lot of the info maybe out dated, like the shuttle buses and parking, we just got back, parking at the visitor center is hit and miss, not sure on the cost if any to park in Springdale the shuttle to the visitor center from Springdale is free. We arrived the first day about noon and got a parking spot, the next day arrived about 9AM and lots of parking available. (Maybe time of year and it was mid-week) we jumped on and off the shuttle buses that took you from the visitor center into the park no permits or fee required.
If the video is three years you and the information is not accurate (like the need for a shuttle pass) you should remove this video and do a different video with accurate information. THIS VIDEO IS NOT A GOOD VIDEO BECAUSE YOU ARE GIVING NOT CURRENT INFORMATION.
Thanks for watching
@@MilletsGo Totally ignored what I wrote. Sad
Sounds like you didn't plan well.
Thanks for watching
Sounds like you still take vacations with Mommy❤
Is tip number 3 (Parking) not an issue if we get a shuttle pass from Zion Outfitters?
No it is still an issue. You have to park your car somewhere. If you don’t get there early enough you will have to park much further out and then walk to the shuttle location. Some of the shuttle rules and regulations have changed since this video was released, so make sure to research that as well
